Thanks y’all! Appreciate the ride along to new parts of the world! Those straps are what we use for small things like mowers, I would not even use them on a motorcycle…they sure missed out on advising you in that regard. But improvisation is part of the game! Be well!
Yes the straps are very thin and I wouldn’t of trusted them. But the way they hooked them on the wheels is what was wrong as well. The rocking back and forth of the vehicle would have made them hooks slide off. Would of been best to hook them on the frame or tow hooks. Sorry that happened! Tom is a legend and a great guy! Glad you guys reconnected love seeing both you and Tom on your travels. Go team LandCruiser ✊🏽 Jerry is cool too. 😆 Be safe!
We're all heading to the same place on a similar timeline so we all know each other more or less. Nick and Mathilde introduced us to Tom as we both had the right hand drive issue.
It could have been a lot worse. The shipping container could have ended up on the bottom of the ocean. Overall it was pretty successful even though it was a couple small issues.
thanks for the info, I'll probably be doing this route because of RHD as well! When leaving the Troopy for a while, were you leaving the top popped? Was that so the canvas can breath and not stay folded? I knew about battery disconnect but what other long term storage tips do you have for me? :)
You're welcome! We did not leave the top up as our canvas doesn't have an issue with being folded. In hindsight, I wish we had put some type of dessicant inside the Troopy as the area of Colombia we stored it in is quite hot and humid. Also it was the rainy season so if you watch our next video, you'll see we had an issue with water intrusion.
I am in Australia and planning to travel to North America with my camper van. My van is 2.7 meters high and 6 meters long. I would like to know how to transport it to Los Angeles by sea? Thanks!
hey guys, love the videos, we are also needing to take this route due to rhd, do you have any recommendations for shipping company? also how long did it take in total to get from mexico to columbia? cheers 😊
Hi! We went with Overland Embassy, but there are lots of companies out there. Total transit time on the ship was about two weeks. From arriving in Veracruz to leaving Cartagena was about a month. Lots of logistics on both ends.
Yes - unfortunately our 3 week delay waiting on parts (in a previous video) meant we wouldn't be able to see Belize or Guatemala with our shipping deadline. It's booked over a month out.
Nice size this container and your comments: no way! I love it❤
Lost track of both for you because you had not put on too many videos. I'll keep an eye on your Channel. 👍🏻👍🏻🙏🏻
SO once again TOM to the rescue..First with Nick and Mathilde, now with Jambo..the guy should get a medal
Rescuing us by sharing the costs of shipping with us. Mate's a legend 😎
Well done Tom lending a helping hand.
Thanks!
Thank you!! We really appreciate the support.
Glad the two vehicles made it to Colombia ok, even if they were a bit damaged.
What a good bloke Tom is - always a cheerful chap wanting to help out.
Agreed - Tom is the absolute best.

Thank you! The advice from our shipping agent was definitely not the best. Think we all learned a lesson here.
I would have fainted when they pulled out those mower straps.
Tom nearly did 😂
Hi 👋. So glad all is going reasonably well. Stay safe & have a fun adventure. Love you ❤
Good job Olivia getting to Columbia and driving to Airbnb. Nice to see Tom in your videos. Sorry about the shipping vehicle damage. 😮
We ❤️ Tom here! Thanks for watching.
Straps were for a bike. Might you bump into the crew of Next Meridian in Columbia?
Our shipping agent insisted they were appropriately sized and just a precautionary measure... We have found NME in Colombia 😁
Just discovered your channel because of Next Meridian. I just subscribed.
Welcome! We love hanging with Nick and Mathilde. They are awesome people.
@@gdayjambo yeah, they’re so adorable and you guys too! I love your channel already!
The camera & video quality is 👌 It truly feels like we are there with you guys! Thanks a lot for sharing 💛
Thanks friends 🥰
Luv the troopy. More videos with the troopy footage will get yr views up.😊
Thanks! Lots of Troopy content upcoming from South America 😁

Go team LandCruiser ✊🏽
Jerry is cool too.
😆
Be safe!
Good Job Olivia! Must’ve been a daunting task, retrieving the Troopy. Cody is lucky to have you.😜
😂 you should tell him this
Tom could be an internet legend! Nick and Cody leave their ladies and Tom is there to join each 😀
Tom IS a legend for sharing the costs of shipping with us 😁
Wait how did Tom end up hanging out with you guys when he was hanging out pretty much with next Meridian Expedition.
He took off and did his own thing. Didn't he hang with Eva as well?? All these overlanders know each other, like a big family..

👍👌
That stinks my troopy came loose in the container coming from Dubai and caved both rear doors in.
That sucks!!! Hope they fixed it.

@@gdayjambo ah bummer on the water intrusion, I will take a look at the next video soon! Thanks for the heads up!

How much was it to get it shipped?
Next time buy your own straps to tie down. You need 4T straps per tyre
Yes, lesson learned! Shouldn't have trusted the advice we got from our agents unfortunately.
You missed one of the best countries. Guatemala
