fladave99 Mills No. You are just making shit up. Vegans dont want to force anyone to do anything. They are trying to convince people that eating animals is cruel, unhealthy and destructive to the environment.
I switched to a vegan diet overnight after watching a graphic documentary. I started feeling week within the first few weeks and I wondered what's wrong(I was starving myself🙄).. I had done no research on what to eat and vegan nutrition. I'm glad I sat down and did my own research and ate healthier. I noticed my migraines suddenly disappeared, I stopped feeling lethargic and it also helped my grandma reverse her type 2 diabetes and her constipation issue. For those of you still skeptical, try a whole foods plant based diet for atleast a month.
It's good to hear you educated yourself instead of blaming it on the vegan diet. People think being vegan is a synonym of starvation, disease, weakness and malnutrition. It will only happen if you don't find proper information. If you don't prepare your meals the right way. If you don't take vegan supplements or are lazy to cook and do research.
I have been a vegetarian since I was in my mom's womb. And today I'm 21, I've changed from vegetarian to vegan diet 4 years ago! I am proud to said that I am VEGAN! I am not alone! This is from Malaysia, which is kinda difficult to have vegan food variety LOL

That's the funny thing, you ppl have health problems but say others must follow your diet due to your own genetic problems. You will most likely also have other problems given your weak genetics, that's why 90+ yr old vegans aren't a thing, they often die from their weak genetics that lead them to veganism before them.

I've never cooked so many different meals in my life since going vegan, It made me learn how to cook. I used to eat the same few meals every day as a meat eater and it usually involved throwing packaged stuff in the oven because all i knew how to do was fry eggs and burger patties and turn an oven on basically, but now i can cook stews, soups, pastas, sausage rolls, curries etc, and I've done enough to be able to just experiment and throw stuff together now. I just made the best ''mushroom lentil stew over mashed potato'' for the first time. Me too, after watching this 2hour documentary, it revealed some startling info I was oblivious to. It was extremely hard to watch, but I'd rather know the whole truth. Therefore I instantly made my well informed decision to become fully vegan. It was almost enlightenment for me.
Look at How Veganism is taking off in India, and how India currently represents 49 percent of the world's diabetes... Who benefits from this? People like this guy...
I love this. I have this argument with my mother all of the time! She is type 2 diabetic and keeps telling me she can't have fruit. I tell her it is good for her, just don't overindulge. I get "the doctor tells me no fruit" Yet, she will have a large bowl of ice cream! Makes absolutely NO sense. Meanwhile I have been Vegan for 12yrs (recently went more Raw) and I have normal blood sugar, blood pressure and at 48, I'm on NO medications. I wish my mom would get it!
It’s hard! I realized that majority of the time my mom did not accept unsolicited information from me. So you have to cleverly bring in outside sources to collaborate what you say and what you are doing.

@@ASMRyouVEGANyet I am sure that if asked, he would say that being an ethical vegan is not necessarily unhealthy. On the other hand, it can be. A Whole Food Plant Based diet is the healthiest possible diet. The closer vegans can get to that goal, the healthier they will be.

Most vegan :)s are healthier than the average person, but you can't deny some people aren't interested in the health aspects of it :)
The problem is not the Internet, the problem is people's lack of critical thinking, to be able to discern what is real and what is not, to be aware of their own biases, their own views and be able to question what they hear and what they see properly. When a claim is made, say Dr.M Greger makes a claim that beans are good for digestion. He is an acclaimed doctor, with credentials, he will list his sources and if you check those sources they are usually scientifically robust, and so are the to the best of our knowledge as it stands. Believing that beef is good for you because 'Brad' the buff dude at the gym said so, and because he has an 8 pack he must be right, and you enjoy beef so it must be great... The best part about science is that is true regardless of whether or not you believe it, but you have to know how to check it so you are not fooled by pseudoscience. Dark chocolate was sold as a superfood when it was scientifically proven to be good for your vascular system, sales of dark chocolate skyrocketed, the study was not robust, was only done on a few people and the study was funded by Nestle. Google or YT search critical thinking, it is important in this age of information overload that we know how to find truth.
@@LeeMaitland I agree with your post, but I want to point out that Dr. Greger does recommend cocoa powder. It provides the benefits without the drawbacks, like sugar and fat. I sometimes eat baker's chocolate which is 100% cacao (also free of added sugar,) but I mostly use cocoa powder.

@@SubjectE57It's quite difficult for the average person to eat a complete balanced diet while vegan. You must constantly log your nutrition to be certain that you've eaten enough complete proteins (all 9 amino acids in a bioavailable form), macro and micronutrients. You must take supplements while vegan to ensure that you're eating an optimal balanced diet. Any diet that requires the use of supplements is fundamentally flawed. Most vegans aren't tracking their nutrition as closely as they should and are often deficient in major nutrients.
@@ben-7403 It's really not that difficult, did you watch the video or just come into the comments section? Every source of protein except gelatin is technically complete, the only difference is the ratio of amino acids, but if you eat a variety of foods then there is no issue. Variety solves the issue of macro and micro-nutrients as well once you know what to look for. @You are right, but I used to get a lot of gas but realized it was down to eating too quickly and not chewing my food properly. As natural plant eaters we have digestive enzymes in our saliva that break down carbs (a herbivorous trait), when you eat too fast these enzymes don't get a chance to do their job, which leads to undigested entering the small intestine, causing gas. Beyond that things like SIBO and SIFO can cause bloating and gas on a vegan diet because of the higher carb load, but fixing the problem is always a better choice than fixing the symptom.
@You are right, but Hey bro, your right, it is more environmentally friendly to go hunting locally. That being said, can I get some tips on how you hunt and fish your raw milk, kefir, raw eggs, raw butter...?
@You are right, but So you never looked into what causes gas then? Interesting. To be honest, I think the chances that a hunter would ever have the compassion to give a vegan diet any consideration are slim to none. I actually gained quite significant weight on carbs (10kg), on a strict low fat high carb vegan diet. I was overeating like crazy because a very eloquent scammer here on RUclips said we should not limit carbs (nor sugar) and overeat heaps of it ("burn fat not oil"), and I was naive enough to follow his and his augmented gf's advice. Two years later still not recovered but getting better again. Should have found Dr. Garth Davis and his advice earlier.
I know what you mean, been there done that. Let's all use our own intuition combined with rational, responsible nutritional advice from actual professionals and not dangerous nutters on RUclips.
Feldenkrais with Alfons How many fruits and veggies did you eat? I think not enough. You probably ate loads of pastries, cerial, crackers, candy which are NOT VEGAN. All those things still contain pig fat!! Latd, Gelatin!! Which is fattening as hell. Ritz crackers and Skittles are made from disgusting pig parts.
Alfons why would you overeat and be stuffing in extra food thinking this would make you thin? Makes no sense. You got to think and get things in context. Listen to your body. I'm a cyclist like DR and we need a shitload of calories as on one 3hr training ride I burn up 2000Cals easy. Add to that my basal metabolic rate of around 1900Cals per day and I'd have to eat nearly 4000Cals on those days. Very hard on a mainly wholefoods diet! Most of those cycling Cals are from sugar as we burn up glycogen stores (and a little fat) so if we eat sugar or carbs, it first tops up that ~1400Cal glycogen tank. Only after that tank is full and we have balanced the Cals in/out equation will we start storing fat which comes nearly exclusively from the fat we eat. Carbs are much harder to be converted into fat, than fat into fat which obviously needs no conversion. I still eat some sugar, jam, gels in training and in races, the odd soft drink, and when measured was 5.9% bodyfat.
This guy talks about how smart he is, how long he's studied and that you need to look at the scientific evidence but I'm 13 min in and he has not shown ONE study. Where are the CURRENT clinical trials? Show me data, don't just spout some words and follow up with some memes. Very poorly done.

Great video! I’m vegan but I will tell you that people can eat fat to get thin, hence the keto diet. Fortunately people can do the keto diet being vegan. Even though fat contains 9 calories/gram vs carbs and protein having 4 calories/gram, when the body reaches ketosis, muscle is retained and fat is burned. Even more so when paired with intermittent fasting. Ketosis can only be reached when you consume higher amounts of fat, around 60-75 percent of calories from fats, 15-30 percent calories from protein, and 5-10 percent calories from carbs. Of course people on keto must make sure these percentages fall within their recommended daily caloric intake based on their weight, age, and level of physical activity. As far as carbs, fruits are perfectly fine because they contain fiber which helps keep blood glucose levels low and therefore less insulin is released inside of our bodies. The problem is people who eat too many processed carbs or simple sugars along with high amounts of fats end up gaining weight because of the imbalance in their macronutrients (fats, carbs and protein). To lose fat, it is best for most people to keep carbs low, especially carbs without fiber, to ensure a lower insulin response inside the body. The body cannot burn fat in the presence of insulin which is why certain low glycemic index fruits, especially berries, are best to eat when losing weight. But if someone does eat a high amount of complex carbs and fruits, they have to make sure they consume less fat that someone who consumes a lower amount of carbs. It’s all about balancing macronutrients.
If you're interested in hearing other sides of a debate, I recommend watching this RUclips channel's videos on keto. Also, Mic the Vegan did a video on Vegan keto.

Well tried i don't believe this u helped Ur grandma by all those plant based carbohydrates there's always a limit

Ethical vegans (AKA REAL VEGANS) are healthy.
@@ASMRyouVEGANyet I agree I don't like how he implied ethical vegans are unhealthy. However I think he is just emphasizing those people were doing it solely for the animals and not their health. After all, it's detrimental for the movement if people quit because they ate food that made them feel bad. I'm vegan for the animals myself and eat whole foods plant-based so I get what you're saying.

@@ben-7403 Are you going to back that up with anything or is it just a belief that you hold on to?
Do you have any evidence that supplementation is bad for your health, or that vegans are more at risk of deficiencies than the general population?

@You are right, but I used to get a lot of gas but realized it was down to eating too quickly and not chewing my food properly. As natural plant eaters we have digestive enzymes in our saliva that break down carbs (a herbivorous trait), when you eat too fast these enzymes don't get a chance to do their job, which leads to undigested entering the small intestine, causing gas.
Beyond that things like SIBO and SIFO can cause bloating and gas on a vegan diet because of the higher carb load, but fixing the problem is always a better choice than fixing the symptom.

@You are right, but So you never looked into what causes gas then? Interesting. Follow logical people. Durianrider isn’t logical.
Feldenkrais with Alfons
How many fruits and veggies did you eat?
He says ALL the studies show the vegan diet is perfect. FLAT OUT LIE! I have read studies that say meat is better for you than a vegan diet. This presentation is more about belittling others than any constructive debate about diet.
Ok. Just finished and NO STUDIES. He just spun a story. Anyone can get up and tell that story. He spent more time bashing others than supporting his case. This is bad information whether you support vegan or carnivore. You can't take any of it on his merit. Where are the CURRENT clinical trials? Show me data, don't just spout some words and follow up with some memes. Very poorly done.
I agree with you. It is a very bad presentation and he even brought up some "false truths" himself that he was laughing about in the beginning. Nothing worse than a presentation about nutrition without facts.
8 years on a plant based diet just turned 30
Did a blood panel for fun.. everything looked amazing.. a little low on vit D but I love on Montana and never really supplemented much with it.
Very empowering but you have to hungry for the truth. Much love
12 years Vegan baby! I love you Garth!!!!!!! Awesome job DOC!
11:38 mediterranean is carb heavy? I'm almost certain it is a high fat (olives, oils, fish, cheese, nuts), tons of vegis, low fruit, and moderate amount of quinoa and couscous (usually covered in olive oil).
It's 40% carbs.
I read a great quote the other day, it went something like ... 'History should be be constantly researched and re-written otherwise it is just dogma'
It is a felony crime in Germany to ask questions or suggest that the Holocaust may have happened differently.
Tubetart
Why should history constantly be “re-written”? If it is, then it most likely is changed to fit an agenda. That is dogma.
Revisionism is wackos trying to change history to fit their agendas.
It s insane to present great quotes to a bunch of lunatics
No-one is denying climate change. People are questioning the input of human behaviour to said change. It is a perfectly valid query and to conflate it with Flat Earthers and holocaust deniers is disingenuous.
PS - yes I'm vegan, but I'm also a critical thinker.
What is your scientific discipline ?
@@yangtse55 Why is that relevant? What if I told you I was a climatological expert? What if I told you I was a Nobel Prize winning physicist? Would that make the truth any more or less the truth?
There are people denying climate change, if it's defined as change that's significant to form a threat to our way of life. I agree with you tho about those false analogies
This is lovely! Thank you for sharing this, Plant Based News. I love your channel and all that you do :)
Vegetarian my whole life, and vegan for 4 years now. (I'm 25). Have had no negative effects of not eating dead animals or breatfeeding from a bovine. I'm working out, doing a degree in university and feel great :)
Great for me, great for animals, great for the world, great for my economy.
My diet consists of potatos, oats, pasta, lentils, beans, tofu, greens for every meal, oat milk, nuts and seeds, a fruit a day (or more) and a few indulgences here and there.
Becoming vegan has taught me nutrition, cooking, made me explore more foods and to live my life according to values like kindness, integrity and responsibility.
Kudos to you doc. A no nonsense presentation. Simple facts tell the truth. 👍👍👍
I've been vegan for almost 27 years and was looking for a good short video to share with others when myths are raised, and I love Dr Garth Davis, however I wish he left his introduction out...mainly the global warming...
Duck Duck Go. David Coel in Auschwitzi documentary. Eric Dubay RUclips channel and website Eric Dubay is vegan his website has great information
The first 3-4 minutes is called cognitive dissonance.
HAHA, I didn't see you comment but wrote the same thing !!!!!!!!! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!! (or just sad)
@Raeanne Either you are blind and deaf...or you are simply an idiot.
This guy is a govt agent. Aka still asleep.
@Raeanne
Must be being backed by the WHO.
Great video! Thanks!
I keep getting "you're to skinny. Being vegan doesnt work." I have always been 20lbs over weight(at the least) since I started school. I haven't gotten sick since being diagnosed with a 'brain + viral infection=encephalitis'. After a fever dream that lifted my perspective, I came to the understanding of my body and its needs. A blessing that nearly killed me. Who said it right? So long ago... "let food be thy medicine." Its real. Whole foods is all I want, it makes so much sense. I wont eat food that has been prepared unless I prepare it. I feel a part of "eating" is feeling accomplished. Satisfaction with your ability to create.and I've eaten more types of food and learned how many there actually are, your selection is endless with veganism. I dont care if anyone wants to eat meat, just dont come to me with that.
Can the channel owner or anyone else provide links to published academic research documents that support what he's saying?
I'm a great believer in the vegan lifestyle/movement and I don't approve the meat and dairy industry, but I'm also open-minded and would like to review these statements from a scientific point of view, especially on dairy, as meat studies I was able to find myself.
Is there an online hub that gathers and store all that academic information to support the vegan movement?
Thanks in advance
You can not find the research. Wow.
Start with Doctor Micheal Gregor
TodaysRealHealth would you be kind and post a link directly to his academic research?
Also, while you’re there, do you have kids?
The last third of the Proteinaholic book contains nothing BUT scientific research. It's a good place to start.
animals have just as much right to live as we do they also have souls i will see all my pets when i pass on can't wait meat eaters will reincarnate until they learn there lesson, you eat animals they will eat you!
Dude he absolutely slays this!!!
An insult to pigeons everywhere 😞
It's one of the reasons sourdough bread is so good. It sits long enough so the water in the dough neutralizes the lectins and the bugs in the sourdough culture eat the gluten.
January 6, 2020 will be our 2yr Vegan Anniversary! Thank God for healthier temples. Although we didn't eat beef or pork, eliminating meat has been such a blessing.
We get our protein from nuts and lentils etc and take Omega 3 /Fish oil and B12. We also juice. No processed foods, sugars, caffeine, GMO or soy products.
The biggest snake oil we are being sold is the dollar bill.
???

Remember people:
- “there are those who want you stupid”.
Just accept that you have been fed lies and make the right choice 🌱.
So true.
fladave99 Mills I’m just gonna be honest with you.
We are about to hit 2020 and the world is really on its knees.
So other than the fact that vegan is the healthiest diet to this day (FACT).
We really don’t have choice/ the privilege to kill animals for your tastes.
The future is Vegan people, or... its really going to be over for the human race.
fladave99 Mills what a joke
@fladave99 Millsyou kill the plants now too feed the animals ...
"You can eat as much fruit as you want and it's no problem that we've made them even sweeter because sugar doesn't make you fat! insulin is just a myth, the body cannot convert sugar to fat. and ancel keys wasn't a liar, he was showing the truth by not excluding countries from his study which would have falsefied his claims."- said the sheep leader. "wait, this man here is spilling over with honesty, couldn't it be just too much?" - was a sheep thinking. ;-)
@LeBron Crybaby James that this guy is a liar?
LeBron Crybaby James It’s true He isn’t laying. My personal fruit intake is huge and my pre diabetic conditions is gone.I don’t need any doctor to prove me otherwise
fruit = sugar
@@Deathscent089 "fruit = sugar"
Using that logic we can also say: human milk = sugar
There is more sugar in human milk than fat and protein combined. More sugar in 1 kilogram of human milk than in 1 kilogram of watermelon.
@@radomirp The difference is people aren't basing their entire diet on milk and tricking themselves into thinking its healthy. If someone did I would criticise them too. Health is moderation. Vegans lose their teeth at an unprecedented rate...
(what a weird comparison too - as far as i'm aware adults don't regularly drink human milk...)
But I recently read that milk causing osteoporosis due to calcium from the bones neutralizing the acidity caused by milk is also a myth.
BalticSeaBoy Calcium for us and dogs comes from green leafy veggies
Myth, my grandma said vegan kids don't do well on school. My 2.5 year old is so smart and speaking in sentences while my sisters toddlers, one almost 4, are barely saying words. My family all thought my son was going to be sick and slow, but he's so healthy, handsome and smart! He loves eating fruit and snacks like chickpeas, etc while my sisters kids are always eating processed snacks and they tell me my food is gross. I'm just happy my son is proving them wrong, even though they will never admit it and may never see it.
This was awesome... So liberating from the fear of some scientific-paper-based-false arguments that may be thrown your way...
We really enjoyed this video we like his format. His presentation kept you engaged.
I ate raw beans once! Doing this ended a 15 year-non-vomiting-streak! :(
20yrs agoi had Rny gastric bypass and several yrs later had a crisis of conscience and had no idea that I COULD go plant based. Vegan now and fine. Chronometer has been very helpful for this.
Definitely always open to learning things so I will definitely check it out:) I’m familiar with Mic the Vegan and really enjoy his videos
