This is superior playing on the baroque flute (traverso). There may be listeners who don't realize what a difficult instrument this is to play, particularly with this degree of excellence. W. F. Bach's music for this instrument is among the most difficult in the repertoire. In particular, the sonatas in Eb major and f minor are in unusual keys for an instrument who's "natural" key is D major.

I agree, Traverso has been the most challenging instrument I have ever played...

C'est vrai .Et la sonate en fa mineur de Telemann ou la sonate en mi bémol mineur de kirnberger ? Merveilleuse musique et qui reste accessible en grande partie.J'entends deux traverso .merci pour ce moment

Wow I feel like I've never heard this type of flute played this well. What a gem!

G flat and f sharp are sounded differently! That takes skill. Same with Cflat and b.

hey! so i’m playing this duet and i was going to play along with this recording but when i started it sounded totally wrong. i messed around as to why that could be and i discovered that the flutes in the recording are a half step below what is written on the page. why is that?😅

@@GummyBear-cg9fx Nowadays a=440Hz, baroque tuning a=425Hz. Modern harpsichords allow you to shift the whole keyboard a semitone up and down, respectively, to deal with change in tuning.

For sure one-keyed baroque transverse flutes playing here. These pieces wouldn't be well played on a Boehm 16-keyed flute.
