Bach's music for this instrument is among the most difficult in the repertoire. In particular, the sonatas in Eb major and f minor are in unusual keys for an instrument who's "natural" key is D major.

hey! so i’m playing this duet and i was going to play along with this recording but when i started it sounded totally wrong. i messed around as to why that could be and i discovered that the flutes in the recording are a half step below what is written on the page. why is that?😅

I agree, Traverso has been the most challenging instrument I have ever played...

For sure one-keyed baroque transverse flutes playing here. These pieces wouldn't be well played on a Boehm 16-keyed flute.
