Trespasser VR - Sound Demonstration

- I had two goes at recording this, the first one I had to stop as one of my controllers suddenly turned off. I liked certain parts from both recordings so the beginning is a mix of both. I cut out quite a bit of stuff to keep the length down but it still went longer than expected.
There’s a few new things here.
Impact Interaction System is driving all the physics sounds and footsteps. The footsteps aren’t where I’d like them, but they’ll do for now. There’s sounds for hand impacts that I’ll probably either change or remove as they can be triggered during interactions and can be a bit annoying. A “punch” sound can be heard when remote grabbing an object and it clips your hand.
The physics on the crowbar and guns can be a bit bouncy at times, not sure why. Might look into Havok and see if it’s more stable.
GrassFlow 2 is the new gpu instanced grass system. It allows for nice dense grass and a long draw distance while still performing great. The texture is just one of the included samples, it's cartoonish but will do for now.
Amplify Imposters. Did you notice them? Some of them were only 20-30 metres away but they’re hard to spot. These are doing great things for the frame rate and it’s funny I’m using a technique used in the original game to improve performance.
The lighting is slightly tweaked, should look a bit nicer.
New textures for the beach, these were long overdue.
The ocean has some little rolling waves.
Shadows have been changed from medium res soft to high resolution hard. These have improved performance quite a lot and still look good. It can even allow for grass shadows.
Yes it’s the beach again, you won’t see other places for a while yet, don’t wanna ruin the surprise.
Performance is very close to 90 fps everywhere. It drops into the mid eighties in places, but it’s generally a silky smooth experience all the time. This is running at 4320x2160 on an i5 10600k and an RTX 2060. Also, remember this isn't just the beach level loaded here, this is the entire island.
Guns are just Hurricane assets, don't panic.
Still lots of temporary placeholder stuff.

I always saw this title as a future VR title when it was released back in 97.
This could end up being a number one seller on steam if it gets finished. We need a first person horror shooter Jurassic game.
Consider me impressed and immersed.
Sound was of course very important in Trespasser. I think it was one of the first game with variable pitch randomness.
Weapons clanking together was particularly nice here
Anne is really into asmr. Guess anything to reduce to stress of crash landing on a dino infested island!
This game really felt like a VR game 20 years before VR games. Such a great idea to remake it as just that. Good luck

I was playing Bonelab and the amount of interaction with physical objects made me remember Trespasser. That game was crazily ahead of it's time. Then I thought that the problem with that game was the interface, mouse and keyboard just weren't the right tools for the job. But now with VR Its potential could be fully realized. Without expectations I googled Trespasser VR and it brought me here. Wow, this is exactly what I was imagining! I wish great success for this project and can't wait to play it one day.
i was born in 2003. i discovered trespasser recently, the physics made me gasp. it is literally boneworks without vr
I was gonna say "if this is a joke it aint funy" but then I read the description. WOW! Incredible work. I AM SUCH A HUGE FAN of Trespasser. I'd love to play a remake in VR or the standard way one day. A dream come true!

Remaking the game in VR is smart! The physics/movements in Trespasser made it difficult to control with a mouse and keyboard. Would love to relive my childhood again, rooting for this project 😊
Trespasser was sort of before my time but I've been really wanting a good Jurassic Park game like this. This looks really great. Excited to see more.

VR is the perfect gameplay fix for the laughably bad hand control on the original. I hope to god I can play the full release of this, and it gets the backing to see it through to completion.

I've been following the Trespassing (Trespasser remake) for years. It doesn't seem to exist anymore. This looks very promising. and there is even gameplay!

I am all for a VR port of Trespasser. I would prefer the original, chunky graphics, but I do admit the "remastered" graphics look pretty good, especially for VR. I appreciate you already implemented the voice clips! Those are integral to Trespassers magic.

even with the amazing physic sounds of things colliding with each other put aside, the games ambiance sounds just brilliant, it sounds really nostalgic but without it also sounding like a 1998 video game, not that there's anything wrong with that, I just find the balance really impressive

I can see the inspiration from boneworks and the walking dead saints and sinners. I’m very impressed
all sounding really great, except for maybe the shooting sfx

Shotgun is too low pitch and too quiet. Should be a very loud boi. Any of the super sonic ammo (most ammo) needs to have that ballistic crack of the bullet breaking the sound barrier.

This looks really awesome. I remember playing oryginal Trespasser as a kid. The game had extraordinary physics engine. Which year this remake will be playable and available ?

This overall looks amazingly sharp and still accurate to the original. Has this been built on top of unity using original/original-inspired improved assets, or is this built into the original game engine (as I understand the source code was released some time ago)?

The sounds on impact are really nice but the quality of them feels low... like walking on grass that's some roblox sound effect
Are there plans to import the original weapons and their sounds in the final product? The sound quality and level of sound interactability is amazing, but the immersion is kinda ruined with those generic weapons. Id live to see the Spas-12 and the Deagle make a return in this game, along with their iconic sounds. Also are there plans for Ann to comment on the capacity and shots left in a gun like in the original?
