  • If you need to upgrade the look of your RV shower, you're in the right place! Since we do not use bathhouse showers, our RV shower sees A LOT of use! On top of that, our mini clothes washer and spin dryer sits in our RV shower when we use it. These two factors combined over 2 years of full time RV travel has put some definite wear on the floor of our shower. Through some research, we discovered many people recommend using Rustoleum Topside Marine paint on the fiberglass RV shower floors. Not only does the fresh paint look great in the shower floor, but it also provides a much needed upgrade to the overall look of our RV shower and bathroom!
    We purchased our supplies at a local Lowes, below are Amazon links to the supplies needed to upgrade the look of your RV shower as well!

    What a great idea using marine grade paint! Thank you for sharing. I just purchased my first RV which is a 1996 but will live in full time and the shower pan and walls are very dark and dingy and was worried about using a paint that wouldn’t last. I would definitely be using this on the pan and walls.

      It is holding up great so far! Proper preparation of the surface is definitely the key. Thanks for watching!

    Thank you for the very thorough tutorial. I have watched many and the marine paint seems to be the safest (fumes) and best product to use. I will be painting our (new to us) motorhome shower and surround next.
    On another note, I, curious about the brand of portable washer/dryer unit you have. Please share, if you don’t mind. Thank you!

      You’re welcome! We have been happy with how well the paint has held up. The washer is a Costway (or Giantex) portable washer/spin dryer. We have a review video of it on our channel also! Thanks for watching!

    Brilliant idea! I live in my 5th wheel full time, it gets a lot of use. It’s just me, but the wear and tear is major…how is the paint holding up now??

    • @JouppiOutdoors
      @JouppiOutdoors  2 года назад

      It is still holding up very well. Surface preparation is important for the best results. It’s a pretty easy job though! Thanks for watching!

    Hello,
    Thank you for your video. I am considering painting our shower pan as well because I see cracks in it. I did look underneath and the two by fours some of them have a half inch gap and some have an eighth of an inch gap. I think the cracks on mine might have to do with the two by fours are positioned and that there is difference in hight. do you drive your camper or is the stationary? Do you think the fact that the RV has driven a lot will crack again in the future ?

      We have traveled in our RV for 5 years. If the 2x4’s are not supporting the shower pan, I would address that before painting the shower. Thanks for watching!

    I have the same shower you do and mine is yellowing really bad so I will try your paint I would also like to know about your shower rod

      We have a video on the shower rod installation: ruclips.net/video/KiUEWifXU1E/видео.html Also, the paint will work very well as long as you prep the surface properly. Thanks for watching!

    Hi! How has it held up? Our camper has a plastic type shower pan that is yellow. Thinking of painting it.

    • @JouppiOutdoors

      The Topside paint has held up very well! The surface prep is the most important part of painting the shower pan. Thank you for watching!

    I am just wondering how this has held up for you? I am debating between painting the whole liner of my RV shower, or tiling the walls?

    • @JouppiOutdoors
      @JouppiOutdoors  2 года назад +1

      Overall it has held up very well! There are a few scuff marks from our washer and spin dryer starting to show, but it produces a lot of vibration when using it. Under normal conditions it would still look like new! Thanks for watching!

    How did this product lay down on your smooth areas using the roller? Pretty smooth? Or did it leave a texture?

    • @JouppiOutdoors
      @JouppiOutdoors  2 года назад +1

      It was pretty smooth, the shower floor had a bit of texture to it which was still there. This made it look like it did when it was new.

    Did you try something like a yoga mat cut to size for under the washer? Sounds like this product should be pretty stout, anyway. Hope you all are doing well. Praying for your daughter

    Did you use gloss or semi gloss? The I click on your link it says glossy, but in your comments, it says semi-gloss. I want my tub in the trailer to look as good as your shower. You did an awesome job!

    • @JouppiOutdoors
      @JouppiOutdoors  Год назад

      You are correct, I used the semi-gloss. Looks like they changed the listing in our link to the gloss! It’s not a difficult job, just make sure to prep the area really well and you shouldn’t have any problems. Thanks for watching!

    • @JouppiOutdoors
      @JouppiOutdoors  6 месяцев назад

      Honestly, it could use a touch up now but only in the area where our washing machine feet constantly rub. The rest of it still looks really good!

    How has the paint held up

    • @JouppiOutdoors
      @JouppiOutdoors  Год назад +1

      It has held up quite well, it did bubble in a couple spots recently but I believe it was in a spot where I didn’t prep as good as I should have. Plus, it gets heavy use since we are full time and our mini washing machine sits in it.

  • @greenacresfarms

    How is it holding up after a year?

    • @JouppiOutdoors
      @JouppiOutdoors  Год назад

      Still looks good! There is a little peeling in the corners, I’m guessing it’s from not prepping the area as good as I did in the bottom of the shower pan.
