Thank you so much for sharing this video, and for leaving in the mistakes because that really helps to prevent others for making the same mistakes :). We are getting ready to paint ours and I was not going to bother with the primer but now after watching yours I will definitely be using it. Thanks again!
If you have that seam at the bottom of your shower walls, I was told you are not to seal it with anything. It’s there to allow any moisture that accumulates behind the plastic sidewalls and escape route to the pan. The pan actually goes up a couple of inches behind the sidewalls. That’s probably why the mold kept coming back under the caulk.
I love that you didn’t edit out the mistakes you made. I think some DIY videos make it look easy to avoid people clicking away. But I subscribed to your channel, not theirs. ;-)
MY GOODNESS! That was hard to watch. I have an RV bathroom Im going to renovate. So sorry you had that kind of problem with the paint. It's a real pain to do something like this twice. Great video. I love the final product!
Would love an update on how well the paint job is holding up to frequent use and cleaning! Getting ready to do my own shower and may use the same method :) good job btw, looks really nice! The rv yellow is the worst, im dealing with that now on both sink and shower. Assuming i could use it on the sink too?
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I bought a used RV and I’m eating to remodel it and the shower is one of the worst things that need to be taken care of. I’m a first time RV owner matter of fact the first time I’ve ever stayed in one was the first time I moved in it lol. I wanted to paint over the walls but just didn’t know what paint could be used or how to do it. Thank you so much.
Aw, I felt so bad watching you work to paint knowing you skipped the priming process… However, I didn’t expect you to find it out so quickly until I watched you taping off the caulk edges. You’re a champ though! Great video on what to do and not do! Your redo of the redo will certainly help someone else not face those challenges. Thanks for posting! 🌼Lily🌼
I believe that you should wait 3 days before even using a tub or shower after using the Top Coat Marine paint....I think that might have done the trick instead of re-doing it. But I'm glad I saw this before I started my project, I realize that sanding is an important part of this process!
This was very helpful, thanks for including the mishaps. I bought an old house with one of the bathrooms that looks just like this. Old yellow color. You explained things very well.
Love your channel, I need to do exactly what I’m watching you do, dealing with the yellowing in the restroom. Thanks for all the tips, I’m going to use them for sure. Thanks for everything, GREETINGS from Southern California, this is Alan.
What a shame about the tape. I felt really sorry for you. I had never thought of using Marine Paint. You did a top job. The irony for me is that I spent 20 years fitting widows, and an expert with a silicone / caulk gun. I wish you had have known a guy who could have done that 2 minute job for you. It can be soul destroying when such things happen but you dealt with it really well. Well Done and thank you.
Way to go! I know i would of want to kick and scream for at least 5 mins after peeling off the painter's tape. But you didn’t let that get you down! Side note.... your husband could be my twin. We even have the same love handles!! I hate them, its the last thing that goes when losing weight and the first thing that grows when gaining weight. 😆 Great job and God bless
Wow! There is hope for my dingy yellow shower, yuck. Still need to also replace the water pump as well. The old one makes Too much noise! Yours looks real nice, oh and I also had that peel the big chunk of paint off issue on something else I'd painted with the same look on my face as you did, lol.
What door did you use? I want to get rid of the accordion door too. Any trouble keeping it dry when closed, or do you just wipe it off after use? Thanks for the great video and especially keeping in the oops;)
We have been happy with our new door - we just squeegee it when done and then keep it pulls open until it dries before letting it roll back up. We got ours through rec pro, but looks like it’s available on Amazon now as well - www.recpro.com/rv-retractable-rolling-shower-door/?campaignid=10108288062&adgroupid=112502423452&keyword=&gclid=CjwKCAjwvsqZBhAlEiwAqAHElcW4OBbPyDb1cNUudNqedtT4Os_KzlU6gr1Ys2_VJha0oqiiSMEkGhoCnFcQAvD_BwE
Hi. I just saw and viewed your video on an RV shower makeover and noticed it was two years ago. How’s it holding up two years later can you make another video on that or maybe a short?
Can you please drop a link to the shower door. I replaced mine with the accordion style and I hate it. You did such a good job on this project. Bravo 👏
Of course! www.recpro.com/rv-retractable-rolling-shower-door/?campaignid=10108288062&adgroupid=112502423452&keyword&gclid=CjwKCAjwvsqZBhAlEiwAqAHElcW4OBbPyDb1cNUudNqedtT4Os_KzlU6gr1Ys2_VJha0oqiiSMEkGhoCnFcQAvD_BwE
Blue tape always takes paint off. Most ppl use the green its less srifky on fresh painted items. I do not use any tape i wet my finger i cut the hole smaller for silicone and giver. There is other items ppl have used to taper in the siocone. But if you go slow and steady youll get it on nice. I would never use tape no matter. Ive always had issues with tape.
It was the bullseye 1 2 3 primer - I have links to everything I used in the video description if you need help finding any of the products 😊 they sell this primer at most hardware stores too.
I know this comment is a day late but for anyone else watching here it is! This will seem fairly obvious to a lot of people but the issue wasn't your paint, it was your Silicone application! 💔 You applied way to much sealant. This is probably because you cut the chip too big and maybe you didn't cut it at an angle. You don't need the tape if you're applaying a tiny amount. You also don't need that grout tool or your finger if you are moving the tube quickly with just a fine line. Always practice first. Secure two long 2x4's together perpendicular and practice on that inside edge. Last tip, use silicone sealant, not that bathroom tub and tile stuff.
Nope - it’s been good so far! One consideration though is we have been careful to use gentle cleaners and nothing abrasive just a soft sponge or rag when cleaning. And clean frequently to avoid a need for harsh cleaners.
Thank you so much for sharing this video, and for leaving in the mistakes because that really helps to prevent others for making the same mistakes :). Of course! Best of luck 😊

💯 true
That’s only on some though. Mine was done by the favtory
I didn't understand
Like a weep hole?
I love that you didn’t edit out the mistakes you made. I think some DIY videos make it look easy to avoid people clicking away. But I subscribed to your channel, not theirs. ;-)
This is the best shower/ bathroom remodel I have seen. Great job.
Great video. I’m about to do the same thing to my shower stall. And I LOVE the lights in the skylight!!! ❤❤❤❤ I’m totally going to do that.

Awesome job young lady! Looks great!

Way to hang in there! Great job! I hope it holds up for years to come,
Thanks! It’s been 4 months so far and holding up great 😊
So beautiful! We are getting a new ( classic RV ) to remodel. Your video will help me a lot!
Excellent job - love your level of detail.
This was very helpful, thanks for including the mishaps. I bought an old house with one of the bathrooms that looks just like this. Old yellow color. You explained things very well.

You’re hard work paid off!! It looks awesome!
I used topside on mine and it's holding up great
Def be proud of yourself. Did a great job and I learned a lot. Thank you !
This looks amazing😊hard work paid off..I wouldn’t drill in the walls to much to prevent feature leaks 😢.
I would use glue strips instead

Love this video, it's real, with all the mistakes that REALLY happen
Absolutely stunning job x
I really want to rescue the bathroom in our motorhome. Great ideas.
Hello hello… thanks for the video I’ll be attempting something similar myself in the coming months. How has the shower held up a year on?
This looks amazing!!!!! Thank you for this video
This is THE WAY for sure THANKS
Very interesting video, thank you for sharing it. What is the shower curtain door that you are using? If you don’t mind me asking
with plastic you can use self etching primer made for automotive bumpers ... then use outdoor automotive spray paint
I’m impressed
You did so much work it is plausable.
Great video, something I definitely plan on doing. Side note the led light link does not work
I love it! What’s the name of the type of door ?
Wow! There is hope for my dingy yellow shower, yuck. Still need to also replace the water pump as well. The old one makes Too much noise! Yours looks real nice, oh and I also had that peel the big chunk of paint off issue on something else I'd painted with the same look on my face as you did, lol.
Maybe do caulking first and paint without tape. Just make sure you use paintable caulk.
Fantastic vid. I would have lost my patience and broke things. lol
💞💞💞thank you
I have some question where you get the shower door from I tried to look and what it called I couldn’t find it. Thank you.
What door did you use? I want to get rid of the accordion door too. Any trouble keeping it dry when closed, or do you just wipe it off after use? Thanks for the great video and especially keeping in the oops;)

Would love a link to the shower door
Thanks for sharing, im just gonna spray paint mine
Too much work lol
What was the sliding shower curtain you used?
Hi. I just saw and viewed your video on an RV shower makeover and noticed it was two years ago. How’s it holding up two years later can you make another video on that or maybe a short?
after cleaning you should had sanded with 220 and prime then paint
Okay it's been 1 year how much have you used it and how is the paint holding up I'm concerned about the longevity of painting
Hi can you tell me if the paint come out after 2 years thank you
You have to remove the tape before the paint dries
Can you please drop a link to the shower door.
I replaced mine with the accordion style and I hate it. You did such a good job on this project. Bravo 👏

@@TheWayVlog thank you
Omg I felt that pain. 😮
You did a great job mistake and all as the saying goes we learn a lot from our mistakes ❤
good work
I actually enjoyed this, thank you (: I would be curious as to how much money you put in to get this project done!
Where did you get the shower door
Blue tape always takes paint off. Most ppl use the green its less srifky on fresh painted items. I do not use any tape i wet my finger i cut the hole smaller for silicone and giver. There is other items ppl have used to taper in the siocone. But if you go slow and steady youll get it on nice. I would never use tape no matter. Ive always had issues with tape.
Tub n tile paint
So gorgeous
I'm not using any of that tape if I ever have to do a shower. I would probably caulk it first and then paint afterwards.
Always use adhesion promoter on anything plastic
How is it holding up, looks great.
It’s still holding up great! Just have to use gentle cleaners so we don’t ruin the paint - we opted for dish soap and a nubby car wash mit
rather than use a putty knife you should pick yourself up a "Painter's Tool" they are indispensable for silicone and caulk removal.
Sand between coats and let it cure longer.
Haven’t heard of this idea - sounds like it could work well. Luckily it’s still holding up good 😊
Good job. One question what type of primer did you use in the shower?
It was the bullseye 1 2 3 primer - I have links to everything I used in the video description if you need help finding any of the products 😊 they sell this primer at most hardware stores too.
So how do you know its sanded good? I'm in the process of trying it now
How did you install the light?
Hi... Where did you order the door? DO you have a link?
Ordered it here - www.recpro.com/rv-retractable-rolling-shower-door/
I know this comment is a day late but for anyone else watching here it is! This will seem fairly obvious to a lot of people but the issue wasn't your paint, it was your Silicone application! 💔

Secure two long 2x4's together perpendicular and practice on that inside edge.
Last tip, use silicone sealant, not that bathroom tub and tile stuff.
Professional painters recommend caulking before you paint.
How has the paint held up? Had it chipped or come up at all over time?
Sorry, I meant the paint in the bathtub and shower walls
Nope - it’s been good so far! One consideration though is we have been careful to use gentle cleaners and nothing abrasive just a soft sponge or rag when cleaning. And clean frequently to avoid a need for harsh cleaners.
Always Frog Tape
You was supposed to let it dry for two weeks before an apply anything to it and didn’t prime.
La porta del bagno puoi mettere il link grazie
Did you end up using a primer? If so what kind did you use?
