    The heartbreaking thing about Kenneka's story is, if they had just allowed her Mom to view the video footage....or even gotten someone on staff at the hotel to help them look for the child, she probably would have been found LONG before she got trapped in that freezer. Instead, police and hotel staff just ASSUMED she was crashed out somewhere, drunk, and refused to help locate her and as a result, she died alone in the freezer. If only one of her 3 friends had stayed with her while the others went to retrieve her belongings.

    Honestly, the most frustrating part about Kenneka's case is that it's very obvious what happened: she was wandering around drunk, got into a freezer that ended up locking behind her, and froze to death because no one did their jobs properly and checked the camera footage. But rather than hold the hotel and 911 dispatcher accountable for not checking the tapes and for assuming she was just passed out somewhere, people would rather make up salacious conspiracy theories that only cause the family more pain and don't do anything to get Kenneka justice.

      Cases like this is actually what makes me question the rule of 24 hours before someone can be reported missing. I mean it doesn’t necessarily have to be a total manhunt, but it could still warrant an investigation even if just a small. If anyone had taken the time to check the security footage of the hotel they might have been able to save her from being frozen to death. Yes, it’s very obvious that she was actually frozen to death. It’s very possible that because she was drunk she just wandered into the freezer got locked in and couldn’t get out. I honestly think some changes need to be made to the rule of 24 hours before officially missing

    • @Select2Play
      @Select2Play Год назад +127

      Her friends have more answer to for leaving her alone on the state she was than the hotel tbh. No hotel monitors camera footage 24/7, if you ever seen those monitors receptionists and security guards have showing image from the cameras, those only show real time footage and nothing gets actually recorded on those. The recordings are instead stored in a third party server no one touches unless there's a big reason to. So in the end, if the police doesn't tell them to look into it, they won't.

    Kenneka: I have seen this case before. They said the walk-in freezer did not have a safety handle inside, so once the door shut, you could not open from the inside. The autopsy also showed how long it took her to pass. They said, if they had checked the cameras when she was initially reported missing, she would have suffered hypothermia, but may have been alive.

    • @theemoneyjay
      @theemoneyjay 7 месяцев назад

      No she wouldn't have survived even if they checked the same day, typically when you are locked ina freezer very cold it might take a few minutes or even an hour to freeze to death and the clothes she was wearing wouldn't have helped at all, and even if there was a chance of survival she would've died in a hospital

    • @tobadoba18
      @tobadoba18 7 месяцев назад

      This is incorrect. There was an emergency opening handle and directions were posted on the door. They did say the directions were a little hard to read due to how long they had been there but in her highly inebriated state she would have never been able to read anything anyway. Sad.

What made it so disturbing to me was the fact that her supposed friends whom she drove with in her car, knew how inebriated she was, yet still left her alone to her own devices. And although it was very late in the evening, there wasn't a living soul around at all. Not one. It wasn't as if she was in an abandoned building either. She was attending a party after all. Therr are powerful drugs these kids use today that can make you do abnormal things as your trying to manage your way thru what I call a Spirit World as your moving thru what we know as sober reality as Tameka is seen here where that drug and alcohol mix needs hours and sleep to wear off.
      She lied to her mother, mixed with drugs she couldnt handle, mingled with wrong peers, drove to a popular place that would really care less about where she was as theyre busy just trying to complete a shift and go home, and it cost her her life.

    Thanks for covering Kenneka's case! There's so much more going on than what Mr. Nightmare can cover in a short video but this is a great summary of the situation. People have long speculated that there was a hotel employee or employees who attempted to sexually assault Kenneka and that those portions of the surveillance video were scrubbed by the hotel (hence the lack of action by the staff). Apparently, there have been rumors that one of the videos show the shadow of someone following her from the long end of a hallway and then the video cuts before the person steps fully into view.
    If you go down the rabbit hole with Kenneka's case, it gets even more disturbing than what we see here.

    For the second story, I would like to invoke Occam's razor: the simpliest answer is the best answer to accept. Jenkins' death was an accident; she probably stumbled into the freezer and locked herself in and because she was all alone and intoxicated, she wouldn't have been able to call for help and didn't realize she was in danger at the moment, though I understand that she was trying to get away from men who likely wanted to exploit her.

      I mostly agree, she unfortunately went into the freezer all on her own, as long as what we are seeing in the video is accurate. I don't believe there was anyone after her, or any of the boys were a threat, there were plenty of other drunk girls that could be easily found right in the room that anyone there would have known they were staying in

    • @lorenfranz3173
      @lorenfranz3173 Год назад +7

      @@dansweda712 I didn't say that anyone was chasing after her, I said that being a typical teenager, Jenkins had probably given into peer pressure to attend a party when alcohol was being served, a place she shouldn't have gone to in the first place. Maybe some boys were trying to make her engage in some physical activity, but she might've refused, but her being intoxicated and it being in the very early hours of the morning, she didn't know where she was going, wondered into a kitchen that was being renovated, found a freezer and accidentally locked herself in. No one person was at fault here; those who organized the party were responsible for allowing young girls to come, Jenkins lied to her mother about her whereabouts and if it weren't for her friends explaining everything that happened to Jenkins' mother, they might've never found her or it would've taken much longer to find her body. This screams more of a tragedy due to poor decisions being made rather than someone targeting a teenage girl because they were afraid she was gonna expose their secret plot.

  • @MonkeMan2.0

    The 2nd one is somewhat solved, basically to put it simply, while the freezer door on the outside opens like a usual door, the inside is different where you have to push on the knob for it to open. It’s assumed she must’ve thought it was like a usual door instead of pushing, causing her to panic before unfortunately freezing to death.
    It’s still a sad situation, but this is pretty much a realistic possibility.

    On July 13 2012, Cousins 8 year old Elizabeth Collins and 10 year old Lyric Cook, went missing while on a bike trip, their bodies were found near 7 bridges wild life park on Dec 5 2012 and to this day their killer or killers are unidentified and uncaught. Spread this story, especially to relatives who are from Evansdale, Waterloo, or who have familiarity with/passed through, seven bridges wildlife park, black rock county, bremer county and especially Meyers Lake. Someone knows something, it might be a direct witness, or someone who suspects something about their loved one, maybe a change in demeanor, unexplained injuries anything like that. It might even be possible that this was an accident. (Someone maybe accidentally hitting the girls and killing them out of fear) Just spread the word, their killer is probably still alive
