Great to see you back out, Trev. You can still camp at both Roos Tor and Great Mis Tor even when live firing is taking place. The flags are on these tors because they're prominent landmarks and denote that firing is taking place in Merrivale Range; the actual boundary runs to the north of these tors.
Ah, thats good to know, Max. I guess if I'd have had my map with me I may have notice that myself. Anyway, great to hear from you. How's your book sales going?

I went there for my first solo wild camping in UK this summer, thanks to your recommendation 👍🏻 Great 3 days. Managed to go camping 6 times this year so far 😁 Great video as usual 👍🏻
I absolutely love my Taiji 2, I've had it over a year now and camped all through last winter with it. You're right though Trev, the full solid inner really does make it a warm tent. I've done some mods to mine if you wanna check them out? 👍
Yea, seems a great tent, Gaz. Hopefully not too long til im next out in it. I shall have to have a watch if your video when I get a minute or two. Cheers mate.
how you feeling about that Taiji 2 now xD thanks to your vid Gaz I'm going to opt for the cloud peak 2. The full inner is the only down side on the cloud peak 2 over the taiji but that third pole on the CP2 seems to give it just a little more strength in high winds.
@@Pogo-A-Gogo yeah I'm not gonna be using it in high winds anymore! 🤣 although I may try and mod it and add a third pole. I'll still use it for winter lowland/woodland camps because it's the warmest tent I've owned!!!

I’ve enjoyed watching your videos for a few years now Trev, watched you use many different types of bags, tents, lots of equipment! Can I ask what would be your ideal equipment list for an overnight camp in autumn? Shelter, sleep system, cook system and luxuries??!! ⛺️ Kind regards Rob.
Just to be clear….I’m not after a shopping list! 😂, just what would be your preferred gear list!… just for shits and giggles! and what size bag would you hope to pack it all in?!!
I think my favourite set up at present for autumn / winter would be 3FUL Gear Taiji 2 tent, naturehike snowbird sleeping bag, light tor sleeping bag, naturehike stove and ccokset.
To be honest, I usually (inadvertently) camp during a full moon, and its like daylight all night. This was quite the shock for me this time. Cheers for watching!
Hi Peter, the large is a little less (470g's to the UL80's 560g). The R value though is much better - the UL80 always required a secondary mat in colder times which obviously takes up more pack at more weight - the Thermarest is amazing - you can feel it kicking heat back at you. Also it packs down to the size of a pack-a-mac. I wish I'd got mine sooner!
Strange how it gets called Wild camping now, we used to call it camping, jump on a bus or train at random with my mates we'd end up in the Peak District, Pennines, Rivington Pike, Pennine/Lancashire moors wherever the fancy took us. No gas cookers, small fire, no lights, just a hand torch, blankets instead of sleeping bags. Wild? 4* 😉
Rewatching this as it came up on autoplay.... it came to me, I use that windbreaker, it flaps like fuck too. I got two skewers with open loops at the top. I pin them into two corners and use the end ones like normal. Job done, it doesn't even move.
Hi Trev I had a dream a vampire with its mouth wide open and its fangs dripping with blood was shaking my tarp and loudly hissing at me but I awoke to a flapping tarp but no vampire thank duck 😮 scary times lol when your in the middle of a forest by your self 😂
Well, I did have to sign up online to purchase it and to get it at a cheaper cost! Bit cheeky really, but not a very good camera considering its supposed to be designed for action.
Many issues with GoPro 9 and 10. Doubt I'll get the 11. Plenty of other action cameras on the market that I'll look into. It's terrible to pay $400-$600 USD for an item that malfunctions or gives up the ghost within months.
I've often wondered actually. Not that I go too close, as I tend to give it a wide berth (why wouldn't you !) But the firing range flags... can you go right up to them? Just not inside like a boundary? Or does it mean keep clear?
When the flags are up you are advised not to cross over the range boundary line, whixh is marked out with red and white poles, and red triangles on the map.
I do like the space in that tent Trev. This time your erection looked pro 😂.Can't remember dreams whilst wild camping but probably do. I usually fall asleep within about 20 mins but occassionally wake up a couple of times in the night, either because I'm a bit chilly or need a drink or a wiz, which I never do at home. I think the longest I've ever woke lasted about an hour tops.
Try reaching out to StezStix Fix? On youtube He has a go at repairing all sorts of electronics, he may not fix your camcorder but don't hurt to try if no one else will do it🤷♂️

Hi trev, loved the video as usual. Is that ultra light mat much lighter than the ul80.
I've camped on Kings tor loads, its a cracker. And the views out to Plymouth are fantastic.
Great video mate.
P.S. hows the doggo doing?
Thanks Chris! Dog is settling in well, not 100% on his recall yet but getting much better
Great vid Trev 👍 . How are you finding the GoPro? Are you using it as your main camera for your videos now?
It's a great image but does fail far too frequently.
I'm a f_cking d_ckhead🤣love it Trev
🤣🤣🤣
bring Naff next time...he loves a good wet windy wildcamp.
Yea, hopefully he'll come out before too long!
Wild? 4* 😉
Yep, camping got rebranded!
Rewatching this as it came up on autoplay.... it came to me, I use that windbreaker, it flaps like fuck too. I got two skewers with open loops at the top. I pin them into two corners and use the end ones like normal. Job done, it doesn't even move.
Cheers for the tip!
What's your comparison with the Naturehike Cloud Peak 2?
That's the tent I have.
They look quite similar.
Only spent one night in the taiji 2 but I'm already swaying towards it.
A mere drizzle!
Yea, wasn't much rain, got quite windy though
Great review Trev, how was it for condensation?
There was no moisture in the tent in the morning as far as I was aware, Russell.
Have you tried looking at CEX for a used camcorder worth checking, looks like a decent tent
Yes, I keep an eye on CEX. Bought one in fact, but sent it back, it was a few models older than my old one but nowhere near as good.
Hi Trev I had a dream a vampire with its mouth wide open and its fangs dripping with blood was shaking my tarp and loudly hissing at me but I awoke to a flapping tarp but no vampire thank duck 😮 scary times lol when your in the middle of a forest by your self 😂
Yea, those dreams can get disturbing. Thanks for watching!
Any issues with leaks? All seam taped?
Never had any issues myself
I know nothing about GoPro, but I read at the time they were new that you needed a wifi contract to use em??
Well, I did have to sign up online to purchase it and to get it at a cheaper cost! Bit cheeky really, but not a very good camera considering its supposed to be designed for action.
Many issues with GoPro 9 and 10. Doubt I'll get the 11. Plenty of other action cameras on the market that I'll look into. It's terrible to pay $400-$600 USD for an item that malfunctions or gives up the ghost within months.
Yea, I've always dragged my heals before getting one, still not convinced to be honest.
Is Kings Tor still in the new camping map permissible area?
No, it appears a massive chunk around Princetown has now fallen victim of the camping ban
@Summit Or Nothing cheers thought so, shame as it is a good standby for short notice/ last minute nights out.
How do u fit your stuff in a 50l? 😂 My sleeping bag takes a third of my 65l!
Well, by strapping the tent to the outside lol. The sleeping bag is a down jacket - it packs down quite a lot!
@@SummitOrNothing so you can get as close as you want? Ultimately though, sense would dictate you give it a wide berth presumably?
@@southwesterncamper4848 I think thru have people keeping an eye our from range huts. Nath got intercepted when entering once before
Well if yer gonna do a good tent review, that's the way to do it.
Cheers Shaun!
Yea, proper proud of my erection, John! 🤣🤣 Sounds like you settle easier than me under canvas. Cheers for watching!
@@SummitOrNothing 😆
Taj Mahal Trev ?
🤣🤣🤣 as I was editing the video I was sure I was about to say the same thing.
@@SummitOrNothing hahaha 🤣🤣🤣🤣spot on 👍
Shame about the swearing !
Try reaching out to StezStix Fix? On youtube
He has a go at repairing all sorts of electronics, he may not fix your camcorder but don't hurt to try if no one else will do it🤷♂️
Ah, cheers Dave. I'll have a look thanks.
