      I run my loop in the loop. Specifically, the last thing in the loop with delay and verb also in the loop in front of it. This way the looper will accurately record my sound as I'm playing, and then once the loop is recorded I can change any of my pedal settings and amp settings without messing up the sound of the loop. IE: If I record a clean loop, switching my amp to the distortion channel won't make the loop play distorted - only what I'm playing on guitar at the time. I guess the only caveat would be if you run channel volume way up, master way down, record a loop, and then completely verse your volume settings. That could introduce distortion you may not have wanted.

    My hx stomp layout. Line 6 g10 -> hx stomp -> powerstage 170. Done. Sometimes simpler is better.

      Lol that’s basically my setup too. Myself and the other guitarist in my band use the Shure GLDX pedal series wireless, into HX Stomp XL, into power stage 170. I use an Earthboard for my pedal board, which is battery powered. So the only thing I need to plug in is the powerstage.

    getting my pedalboard together after always using 2 or 3 pedal boards plugged in together laying on the floor, was the most intense learning curve and era of frustration. i still learn new shit every fuckin day about signal chains and the nuanced responses that pedals, effects loops, preamps, and the front end of different types of amps, the wealth of info and quest for knowledge can never be satiated.
    PS, also got that Hiree power supply for my board as well, had it for about 2 years now and only issue I've had was due more to my own carelessness in handling it. I had to resolder the wall mount plug jack back to the circuit board inside the supply, it was popping and crackling and arcing with the fuse positioned right next to it. it was scary, but once i repaired that it's actually functioned even more solidly than i remember it being.

    I got the donner DB-S300 for like 32 bucks and I love it . It's got a spot for the power supply and even the Velcro laid out already. I also got that same power supply can't beat it 🤘😀

    Hey taylor! Great Video! There is one thing I was very curious about modelers like the POD GO. So, modelers like the POD GO have a FX loop with which we can connect it to an amp using the 4 cable method. Is it possible to record whichever amplifier that has been used in this setup using the internal soundcard of the POD GO or any other modeler having an internal soundcard? The setup I was thinking of is using a load box of some kind with any amp head. Then hooking up the modeler with the amp using the 4 cable method and use an IR in the modeler. And then use the internal soundcard of the modeler to record the amp. Is it possible to record any amp in this way?

      I’m sure you could. So you’d bypass your amps output and just record the signal from the pod go? 🤔 I don’t see why that would work

    I think they only thing I would have changed here is I would have put the looper at the end of the chain.
    My ideal board is pretty small, just a tuner, wah and either Rat or HM2.

    Hmmm...something I don't understand - when using an HX, Helix or whatever modeler...why should one want to add real pedals instead of using the effects that are coming with the modeler itself?!

    • @Drtydeeds
      @Drtydeeds Год назад +1

      because you like those pedals, or they offer something that's not quite doable in the HX... the HX is limited to 8 blocks and like he said in the video you can eat up the DSP pretty quick. You can save some DSP by having external pedals carry the load.

    No musicians were harmed during the filming of this video. However, unspeakable horrors were bestowed unto the zipties. A litany of violence and torture was inflicted upon many, many zipties. Shame on you, Taylor, for killing all of those zipties!

    tuner > noisegate > katana mk2 head > noisegate sidechain > EQ pedal
    honestly I don't need the EQ or noisegate 90% of the time. I also keep a metal zone clone, and a maxon 808 just in case.
