The amount of depth this game has is insane man. I'm 35 hours in only now learning most of this.
The point of the scepters is that every consecutive hit increases damage, and it stacks, so if you don’t miss, you can potentially get up to 300+ damage a light attack. The spears gave high crit damage, max level 300% crit damage which, if you’re lucky, can hit up to 900 even with a low level spear. Normal swords have high crit chance, max level giving 50%.
If anyone is wondering how to do dashed R1 and Dashed R2 (Dashed RB and Dashed RT on Xbox),
Press and Hold the dodge button (square on PS and X on xbox) and then press R1 or R2 (RB or RT for xbox)
Thank you!
how do you do it on PC
Raja Jinnah thanks so much
@@sasawedx Do you cretins not have association skills? Press & hold your DODGE button & then press an ATTACK button. Holy shit.
@@Truth_Hurts_Bad actually pc has a different set of controls. You are speaking without understanding the actual matter. For example, pc doesn’t have a single key for heavy attack. Heavy is block plus light attack.
Never thought that an AC game would get a weapons guide video 😂
Shahariar Dipto L
they actually put some thought into the fucking brainless system the arkham games use or what AC used to use.
nabil ravat true that. Tbh i prefer origins combat over the witcher 3 since they fall into the same category
huskytzu I like you're art

Late but after Odyssey, I do like the new combat. It's growing on me. Still, I really miss the old combo-chain-of-death gameplay from Brotherhood. Let's hope the next AC game let's us build up the character to that point where he chain combos like Ezio mid-late game. That said, I don't want to be decked out in metal armor and trying to sneak about. I like customizing my outfit/gear, but not like Odyssey. I liked Unity's customization because you could still customize your outfit pieces, but it was assassin-like gear. Ezio's lightweight armor is the furthest that armor should really go.
Seriously best assassin Creed origin guide I have ever seen on RUclips so far very helpful thank u liked :)
I love how u described the staff as “boop”
You forgot to mention the continous light attacks (it's a skill you can obtain in a skill tree), which are realy important.1.) Swords have rapid speed slashes that deal medium damage and last hit pushes enemy backwards.2.) Sickle - basic 2 vertical slashes. After the first one Bayek steps back and then does the second one. Medium - High damage (if you are lucky to get critical hit)3.) Blunt - big range heavy frontal attack, but really long recovery so make sure to dodge so you won't get staggered. It counts as light attack so the damage isn't high.4.) Dual swords - Multiple slashes that deal medium - high damage in quick succession. After performing the slashes Bayek steps backwards.5.)Scepter - Bayek goes forward with Scepter placed horizontally. All enemies which get in the way will be damaged. The damage is medium6.) Spear - my favourite! 2 really long 360* slashes that deal ridicolous damage. Only thing that makes spear better than sickle sword in fighting multiple enemies.

For anyone learning combat : go to settings- gameplay - and set the Shield to "toggle" so that you don't need to hold down the shield button all the time . Then use your ability points to get the heavy charged attack and the light charged combo attack ( both require you to hold down on the necessary buttons to activate )Those along with learning to parry will be the gamechanger .
Love how he didn't realize he ran into a Phylake
i was a button mashing fool in a fight. Now I'm kicking ass. Thanks.
I absolutely love this game! The game is huge and really fun, I played syndicate for about 20 mins I didn’t care about taking over London and helping the twins but I’m invested in this story and I care about Bayek and his ppl. Idk why people are rating it bad, it’s an amazing game. Btw how do you get better weapons? You do the side missions?
EL RPH true I have never love the syndicate but yet origin it's another story
EL RPH no one is rating this game bad.
Actually its suprising how good the ratings are :)
Rand Y your right. it's a really fun game
i agree this is an awesome game im still in the early part of the game i believe the ones that give any game a bad rating don't know how to play it and they complain about it and give it a bad rating my first ever playing AC this one get a very good rating
@maccajoe Play Origins, dont play Odyssey
Was so glad when I found my favorite streamer covering one of my favorite games.
Great breakdown. Peace and love from Cairo, Egypt.
Hello fellow Mourad
3 minutes in and what a fucking fantastic video!
I gotta ask how did you even find out all this stuff about the game, there is no tutorial or guide or anything within the game itself!
Fantastic and the best video I have watched yet, I have been through at least 10 ACO videos already now.
I learnt more from you in these 30 minutes than I did in 6 hours of playing the damn game by myself.
r u blind? he is using lvl 15-17 weapons not lvl 1 .....
Ryan Williamson no qualities are much higher all weapons are lvl14+
Shahariar Dipto you guys got baited
Ryan Williamson You sound like a 12 year old that didn't get enough love in life and forgot how to make friends so they take it out on strangers
Great video but I'm pulling my hair out that he's missing out on the best attacks because he's not figured out if you just hold the attack button you do a combo. The Heavy Blade combo is absolutely devastating.
What's up cowboy. Thanks for the guidance an brilliant strategies. Thumbs up my friend.
You completely forgot the most powerful moves on every weapon THE PUSH ATTACK COMBO
THE SPEAR IS INSANE WITH THAT
Excellent in-depth weapons guide!! Thanks for taking the time to make this!
watching these ACO videos while downloading my game is making me more excited!
Tech Ride you don't or didn't then gave the game!!! your broke n a joke!!!
@@johnnymacgillivray3854 Did you just have a stroke?
I have played this game a lot. But I never knew so many possible combos that can be used. Thank you so much, this video was really helpful!!!
I love running into your guides Cowboy! You got me through DS3 and now that I know you have origins you'll get me through this as well! Keep doin what your doin man!
Nice video cowboy, i would like to add something on weapon combos. There is a skill where in if a light attaci connects you can hold R1 button and it will do another moveset
I always like to use the spear because of the funny stabbing attack. Also the hammer since it has its own parry. The problem is they stick out of any object you're hiding behind 😂
The only problem is that you didn't show the special attack from holding light attack. For some weapons (like scepter) it boost damage tremendously while some (especially dual dagger) boost the evasive ability. I highly recomend you dont ignore that ability, it's extremely fun and strong.
That ability only applies if you have the perk point though and also varies greatly. Like you said, the dual swords is useless.
FightinCowboy yeah but the charged heavy only work if you have the point so
For anyone that doesn't know, you have the ability to change your hair and beard back to what is was during the prologue. You can have your beard and shaved head, long hair shaved face, and both. Use L2/R2+Triangle/Y on the gear page
Gotta say, this is a very well made video. I learned quite a bit watching this. Subbed
Hey cowboy when borderlands 3 comes out u should play love your content bro keep it up always helpful
Watching this in 2022... cowboy never let's me down when starting a new game!...
That dude strait up intercepted the adrenaline attack lmao
took one for the team
When jumping off high structures you can hold forward and x (on ps4) and Bayek will do a roll reducing fall damage significantly. I'm not sure if the game mentioned that.
I quite like the sickle swords. The fang is amazing. Bleed poison DoT hits pretty hard fast swings and most importantly gold adrenaline god mode. I mean the blue one will off one target. The gold will finish off all the enemies arround you.
Can’t wait for Nioh 2 to drop on pc so I can watch the fightin cowboy walkthroughs. I first started watchin cowboy on a Bloodborne guide and haven’t found better walkthrough advice and videos since. 💯
Super useful: honestly I've only played 3 or 4 hours and you have me excited to try all these new weapons
I agree with his assessment. I too love the Scepter or even better the legendary bladed scepter with max stats and health on hit. The Sickel comes in 2nd for me too.
This RUclipsr and me play all the same games. I adore him
So like... spears just magically double in size when you take them off your back? Like, I can't believe I haven't seen anyone mention that before. Assassin's Creed is one of my favorite series but that's seems like a huge oversight
MrTwerklover lol According to who? The game? Seems like they just added a little shrinkage so you wouldn’t be carrying a 10 foot pole
Yeah, they do that. Kinda ruins the immersion for me.
You forgot to say ''hold'' combo. When you hold RB you'll have different combos. Like with the spears when you hold RB Bayek will swing the spear couple times which deals a lot of damage. I don't know if anyone told that but i say it anyways.
Thanks a lot for this in-depth video. It helped me a lot as I'm still quite new to this game. One question... What do you mean when you refer to a dash R1 attack or dash R2 attack please? How do you perform this type of attack? Shield mode OFF + hold Circle (to dash as in shield charge?) + press R1 or R2? I would really appreciate your help with this as it seems quite useful.
Thanks for this guide. Scepters are OP i think but so fun to use.
I have to say it cause it came up while I was playing the game. You can get a chain attack in with all weapons in the game with the dual swords it is more apparent but when you have the blue adrenaline bar and hit someone it always says chain attack making it possible to get more damage
This is a great analytical demonstration. Very well demonstrated and explained.
Straight at the top of my 'Watch Multiple Times' list :D
If you're like me and thought it didnt feel like an Assassin's Creed game, change the controls to the alt. Control set. It really helped this game feel like it was apart of the AC series again
The adrenaline mode for heavy blunt also gives you a ton of poise.
I'm about to 100% the whole game + DLC having played almost exclusively with tools and hidden blade, some dagger combat, and a bit of sniping when in a hurry.
The arena was my first taste of other weapons and the weapon system in general. I really like sickle swords and spears, but I feel none of the weapons apart from the daggers and maybe the sword belong in this game. Everyone calls Bayek a shadow, which is ridiculous if you're wiping whole bases with a hammer.
Really helpful
Not sure if you know or not but you can also hold the r1 button for a quicker combo on each weapon
One thing you didn't mentioned, sickle swords can stun enemies bearing shields with a heavy attack for a short time which when followed by light attacks is very deadly.
No other weapon in the game has this ability. That is why I always keep a sickle sword as my secondary so as to break those huge enemies carrying shields.
Cool find, was unaware of this.
Love this video it's like a mini combat guide too
Great video, it helped me understand the working of the system better and its a perfect teaching video honestly. 👍👊💯
Spear on camelback is OP
Just got this and I’m obsessed
Awesome Vid, I just started last night. lvl4. this helps me out picking weapons to use.
Excellent breakdown video!
Thanks so much man this vid literally answered all the questions i had!
From a history and immersion standpoint I'm really not happy with this. So I'm gonna make a few suggestions what they could have done, whilst mostly preserving the gameplay.
Let's start with the bows, the immersion issue of which is obvious. The same roles (also not exact function) can be fulfilled by other weapons than bows which were used at the time, in large quantities. There are different ammo types anyway.
Warrior bow -> Javelin: A thrown spear with low speed and high drop which is thus better suited for short ranges. It's relatively large (->low ammo)
Light bow -> war dart: smaller "javelins" with fletching multiple of which can be held in the shield hand whilst quickly being thrown with the right (the move is kind of funny, at least for the late roman plumbata). Other small projectiles such as throwing knives would be possible too (heck even rocks for crappy early game ;-))
Hunter bow -> Sling: I think we all know it, a sling used for launching well ball shaped projectiles. It has a wind up but is still quite quick.
Predator Bow -> Bow. C'mon that one is obvious. If I'm not mistaken, the longest ranged handheld weapon in antiquity.
With these adjustments no gameplay would be sacrificed but immersion would profit significantly. Continuation in the answers.
So here's the melee stuff, which is less obvious:
simple swords can stay, just limit them to the straight, double edged ones. Some are a bit oversized.
sickle swords -> slashing swords. Anything curved, single edged. The khopesh fell out of use around 1300 bce and the shotel came in the 17th century iirc. some examples currently classified as simple swords could stay alongside things like the kopis.
heavy bladed -> axes (one handed). 2 handed melee weapons weren't really a thing back then, due to very shield heavy combat. So just take one handed versions, keep the gameplay and change the animations. They are used thith a shield anyway.
heavy blunt -> maces. The same as with bladed.
scepters (should be called staves ;-) ) and dual blades seem fine.
I personally really like this new system of combat that they're beginning to integrate, it's a nice 'AC series' spin on Dark Souls combat
This game is freakin awesome just got it for $10 Xbox series x never played assassins creed
Great weapons demonstration! Keep up the great work!
scepter looks so sexy will deff use it when i get the game :)
Predatorz00r you will never get it!!! your a loser and your broke!!
Johnny Macgillivray wtf lmao
@@johnnymacgillivray3854 Honestly, you're the loser here if you're going after people in a feeble attempt to raise your own self-esteem, can't even use the right you're either. Sit down, kid.
this is a really good video. i like it. my favorite are the spears, regular swords and sickle swords. against animals i use the dual blades do the the speed of them
Your video just convinced me to buy this game! :) (i have finished AC1 in the past and i am a huge fan of Dark Souls 1 and 3 so i like the fact that this game behaves in a similar manner weapon wise, hence i am getting this)
How do you like it so far?
Thank you I didn't even know about dash r1 and r2
News flash assholes. They’re people that might want to merge onto RPG games but may not be or may also be intimidated by the entire gameplay in general. The mechanics are also very different from your reg single player adventure games. This was very helpful for me especially since I mainly play COD and other multiplayer games.
Was able to do the chain attavk with the spear. Best way I found was go fight someone who is one more levels higher than you but a brute or captain Or phaliki thing at a fort and it will work you pick the person up and throw them pretty cool
That snake hood is dope af
I have reached level 35 in this game and it's been tough. If I had watched this video before I started playing it would have made the combat so much less of a learning curve. I salute you sir for a sterling job! Really good explanations and demonstrations. When I get to play Odyssey and Valhalla I'll have a better idea of what to do initially.
Really helpful video man thanks!!
This video was very informative, thx cowboy!
Yes it useful thank you... Sword and Shield always my fav...
Thank for the vid... Good job...
Very thorough guide bro thank you.
When caving the other day I walked right into a PhyLactite! Ow.
That moment when you're winning against a Phylactite, and those fucking horsemen arrive and rape you
The hunter bow, when shot up close into the enemies chest, will knock them down giving you free hits.
i need to figure out how to do diffrent attacks on pc
Yeh, when people do these videos they always just assume you have a controller and go 'R1', 'Y button', etc. I wish you guys would name the move, or action associated with that button, so this stuff isn't just for controller users alone. If you name the button as 'Charge Heavy Attack' then PC players can figure out themselves which button that is. This way we don't have a clue and it requires more searching to figure it out.
Your video is good, but it would be better if you made it for AC players in general, not just AC players on a console with a controller :( Eternal struggle we have to face, unfortunately.
Coletje exactly. Im playing it on pc with keyboard and mouse right now, and I have no idea what the online guides are even talking about.
Overhead slash attack = Tap Space then tap Shift and click LMB while moving forward (W)
Forward Thrust = Tap Space then click LMB while moving forward.
Charged R2 = Hold Shift and LMB simultaneously until the sword gets charged.
Thanks for this video brother, its exactly what I was looking for and I learned alot. You just got a new sub, gonna go check out your back catalog next :)
I like the Final Fantasy Sword a lot as well as the Deathstorm bow. Hate the cursed weapons.
Great guide, thanks so much for this! I wasn't really paying much attention to the weapons I was using, but now I want to take some time to try them all out.
Excellent and detail video. Keep it up!
FYI..its pronounced fi-lake=means legion in Arabic...loved your video
Phy-lakes also means guardians in Greek...
Great video very useful and concise thanks
Thanks for this guide.
Very nice video enjoyed alot :D
Thank you for this brilliant weapons guide video since I just picked up the game ...( yeah kinda late but anyways )
This was a "potent" vid bro
Thank You for this guide!
thank you, nice review!
I'm still pretty early in the game and so far I prefer the spears for their average speed and good reach. I have tried regular and double swords and they are just no good against multiple enemies and archers.
Thanks for this just started playing
very informative video. thank you so much!
Jeez this video's so potent
Good vid, couple of things I didn't know and am already lvl 39 haha
dark souls+assassin's creed would be AMAZING
Nice vid. It's a shame the game doesn't take the time to teach you all of this
Great video!! Thanks for the info!!
Bro just lurking around the place and trolling people... meanwhile me making strategies with Senu (the eagle) to play stealth xD
Awesome!! Thanks for the breakdown!!
The hold r1 skill for spear is op
Woow, thank you for these great tips!
thank you fore this video,i just learned that there is something called dashe r1 and dash r2 :O lol
Thanks for the great guide! Btw can we use the Heave Blade/Spear/Scepter without the shield? That little piece of metal looks so hideous.
This video helped a lot thanks
Brilliantly explained mate :)
