  • Im sure you’ve heard of the term love at first site. for jack and Deborah that was their life. They were soul mates living life to fullest together. Jack who a man on honor and integrity and fought for our country and for his family. He and Deborah ended up being married for over 60 years traveling the world, and raising their children. When they grew older Jack had fallen asleep one night only to not wake up the next morning, his wife was very distraught at the loss of her best friend. But even though she was in so much emotional pain she fought through for another 2 years by herself and in 2014 she laid in the same bed where jack took his last breath and went on to be with him again. Their home is now frozen in time left with many memories of their life together. So join me today and let’s see what’s left.

This woman passed at home when she was 100 years old. Not in a care facility or a hospital - still at home taking care of herself. That speaks a lot of her gumption and spirit. Rest in peace, dear lady.

It amazes me how much respect you show these old homes. Some people would consider the things left behind to be nothing but junk, but you actually seem to care about what you find. Some people would be discussed if they didn't find room after room of antiques, but the truth of the matter is most folks live simple lives and can't afford priceless works of art. Thank you for showing the same respect for a simple lived in home as you would a king's castle. 😊

Oh I guarantee they got the jewelry, important paperwork and valuables. Most of what is left is flea market and goodwill grade. They probably rent the tillable property to the nearest farmer. The thought of emptying the house to rent or sell is overwhelming to some people, and the children could be in their late 80's.

It's possible at 100 yrs of age that she out lived her child/children. Her offspring might possibly be 70-80 themselves. People that age don't have the ability to go through all that stuff. They might be in nursing homes. They might have dementia etc. Grandkids might be in their 60's with start of dementia. Might not have even been grandkids etc. Family fallouts. Could be a million reasons. But it is always so sad. Now the house and stuff in it is just ruined😢.

When my grandparents passed at 102 & 98 they passed within 8 days of each other. They had one daughter, my mom. My dad was an only child too. Both passed before my grandparents. We have 5 kids in our family. No one wanted antiques or other belongings. It wasn’t their style. So I moved into their home and am very happy and I know they would be too. I love and respect all they left. I have very fond memories of my life in this house. My grandpa would tell us stories about how they built their “Sears” house and how lean things were during the Depression. The house will be 100 in 5 years! ❤

If the woman was 100 years old in 2014, she would have been born in 1914. The wedding pictures were probably of one of the couple’s children based on the clothing style. The rugs were likely commercial based on their sizes. What you referred to as a quilt, was a crocheted afghan. I love the respect you show to these old “time capsules “ and the fact that you don’t reveal the locations of your explorations.

No doubt, the vulture relatives swooped in and scooped up any jewelry of value, money and any good antiques (if there actually were any). Grandchildren probably had no sentimental attachments to anything, like I did to just about everything in my grandmother's house. Slimy neighbors climbed through the window and stole the diamond rings but we couldn't prove it. By the time we left the hospital and drove out to the house, the window was open and everything was picked through.

If my Dad passed away tomorrow &if I was an only child , his house & contents would have to wait. I’m states away with little means . Now that I’m older, it’s easy to understand how some houses are just “ left”. Lack of money to travel &/or hire help, not being able to afford to take time off of work, is just part of the reasons places are left “ as is” . It’s sad.

Hi Big Bankz, I hope this comment finds you well, it saddens me that all her stuff that she held dear for her whole life, is just left to mother nature. It appears she had a good size family, so why didn't the children or her grandchildren, at least take the family photos and donate the furnishings and clothes to charity. Unless it's being help up in the courts, you would think they would sell the house. Anyway, another great find and video. Thanks for sharing. Love from N.Y.

Looks like stuff I grew up with from the 60s and 70s. Always get a kick at what you call things .Those beautiful rugs are called braided rugs and they are made in a factory. The throw other back of the couch looked to be knitted and the pillow on the chair was crocheted. There is a difference but many people can't tell. When you have a desk " cabinet" like the one you said you liked and had the pi tures on next to the stairs. 2 different ones. The front lifts down, these are called secretaries.
One other point. The place was awlfuky clean for sitting empty for so many years. Some body's been dusting. No dust anywhere, just a couple of cobwebs above the doorway where cats were.

Just a note regarding the wedding pictures on the fireplace mantle. The picture could not have been the couple who lived and died in the house. You said she was 100 when she died in 2014. That means she was born in about 1914. The couple in the wedding pictures must have been grandchildren or even great grandchildren. From the look of the couple and what they are wearing, I'd say the wedding was in the 1960's or '70's. From all the other family pictures we saw in the bedroom, they must have had quite a few grandchildren or great-grandchildren. It's a shame that no one cared enough to rescue the personal items. Unless the woman of the house insisted on staying there by herself, it's also amazing someone in the family left her by herself. Maybe someone did stay but it doesn't look it. Thanks for sharing this. It was a beautiful home. You do know the room in the cellar was just an early version of what we now call "family room".

I took care of an old man in my home for 22 years. He passed at 92, on January 2nd 2023. Taking down his room & his stuff is hard, because I feel like I’m dismissing his life. Things are just things, but I knew what his things meant to him. My point it I appreciate how you extend respect for the fact that her things meant something to her.

Whoever this lady was I love her because she loved cats too. In fact I have the same kitty figurine as the one on the tv. It's sad though, that no family member even tried to clear out the home of wonderful memories, pictures, etc. Not even tried to have an Estate Sale? I guess us random people will admire her treasures and memorabilia from afar. 💕

I cried during the entirety of the video. I can’t understand why there is so much stuff still left in the house. My father died in 2021. We went through the house and took everything that had meaning to us into our own homes. My brother and I shared everything that we wanted and also opened the home to the grandchildren to get what they wanted. There’s so much still left in that house. It makes my heart hurt. You could almost see someone walking into a room and sitting down and sharing their memories. It is just heartbreaking. Thank you for honoring their memories.
