I really liked Beach Read! It was the first contemporary romance I read and really made me realize that there can be well written romance books with deep themes and character development. I loved Beach Read and Funny Story by the same author.
That's definitely how I felt about it, too! It felt serious but in a way that was still accessible and familiar enough to feel like a romance. I'm looking forward to picking up more books by Emily Henry in the future 😊
I'm planning to finally pick up Mistborn next month for a buddy read - I've also heard it recommended quite a bit and my husband really enjoyed it, so I hope I'll be in the same camp, but I think it was good to hear your review of it to bring my expectations down a bit. It's never good to have too high expectations, I often end up disappointed ^^'
I hope you love it. I always hope people have a good time with books even if I didn't. I don't think it was unenjoyable, but it's one of those books that's constantly hyped, and I find very few books live up to that kind of hype. As it's a series, I also think it has the potential to deliver more impact in later books, and I hope it does 🤞

Love the sweater!!
I live in the same city as Brandon Sanderson and I’ve still never read any of his books. 😐
Great reviews!!
Thanks! ❤️ It’s nice to validate every now and then that even super popular books don’t necessarily speak to everyone 🤷♀️
@@TheKatBite I agree! Not every book is for every person. 😊
