Except some games had cinematics when starting a new game, not when you launch the game But some of them also had videos that appear when you stay in the menu for some time But it's all mostly about console games
It’s one of them and is probably the rawest Eggman shot that I totally forgot came from here but my ass has remembered that single frame since I’ve first seen it.
SA1, SA2, and Shadow. The holy trinity, Sonic fell off after that. The music never slapped quite as hard, the gameplay never as open, and the vibes never as chill
@@jase276 I think Sonic Unleasged was an amazing game with the day stages being unreal. We all know why that game received negatives, but my priblem arent the warehog stages themselves, but how long they were. Nevertheless its a great game to me. Sonic Generations was also a great game.
I also feel like that's what makes Sonic Sonic. He was always considered the cool character. So seeing him be so nonchalant about the potential end of the world just takes the cake@vittosphonecollection57289
It's still hard to say which I like more. The 1st person view of Sonic absolutely BLAZING through the grassland then through the city? Or that amazing shot of Eggman standing on the Egg-Carrier like an absolute boss. Tough choice.
Till this day it's hard to believe how Chaos destructed and killed millions of people drown in what's basically New York. This intro and Shadow's one go hard. Edgy Sonic was so, so much better.
In Shadow they even say the city was evacuated before it was destroyed. In this it shows loads of people outside (including children) then within seconds the place is flooded so it looks looks like they all died 😮
The shot of Big looking up with the lightning was cool, makes it seem like he has amazing gameplay and then his real gameplay is just fishing for a frog.

I just love how it slowly builds torwards Open Your Heart. Chaos appears, still no Open Your Heart and then it starts, actually gives me goosebumbs near instantly
I am a 27 year old guy from Russia. I was 5-6 years old when my grandfather gave me and my brother a pirated Dreamcast with a Sonic Adventure disc. It was my first game and this intro was the first thing I saw in games. How could I not fall in love with video games then? Thank you, Grandpa Kolya.
Never even played this game and don't intend to, but fuck, does this hype me up. The rapid jump cutting from event to event, while done to condense the whole thing into an intro that isn't gonna take a whole day, it also demonstrates the urgency of the situation and how everything is happening simultaneously; it looks chaotic in the best way possible. Couple that with the music and the percussion synced up with the cuts, it's such a treat to watch.
Perfect Chaos In-Game: BWWWUUUAAAAAHHH!!!!! Perfect Chaos in the opening cutscene: 0:52 "KAAAAALLLMEGOOOO" Edit: I meant "GOTTA OPEN YOUR HEART!!!!" So dont hate for that

Best Sonic intro ever. Since i had 8-9 years, this op blows me up. That rock theme, powerful lyrics and serious expresions on every character. Knuckles, Eggman and Gamma parts are so badass for me and my childhood.
The first shot of perfect chaos emerging still gives me goosebumps 24 years later. Jesus, I feel old saying that! Im replaying this game on steam and its such a blast! Ive nearly finished sonic's story in less than an hour
Legit me as soon as I get into bed: All jokes aside, Sonic Adventure, its soundtrack and this opening cutscene was and still is one of the best things SEGA ever made. They need to to more stuff like SA1/2.
I'm not a big fan of AI frame interpolation, but man, the original FMV was always so chaotic and noisy that this legitimately improves the overall video quality, almost like this was how it was meant to be seen, especially the first person running shots.
back in the time, our brains would fill in the missing details in the low quality footage, making games look much higher quality than they actually were using our imagination now, we need those crisp details haha
Love how this intro and song has lived rent free in my head, even when I don’t exactly remember the game either. Crush 40’s Open Your Heart still goes incredibly hard.

Heck games had cinematics since the NES. Ninja Gaiden 1-3 for example.
Or Sonic CD After Staying In The Title Screen For A While (Only In The Original Sega CD Version, Or The 1996 Port For Windows 95)
Remember when they didn't demand more of your money after you just bought a game at full price?

This intro has more effort into it than any AAA game that comes out now

Early 2000's games had the best game openings.
This came out in 1999 but still counts.
