wow brings back memories. i remember getting in from the pub on a thursday night and watching this while slightly drunk and having my supper..those were the days. would love to see it repeated so i could maybe watch it sober.
In a complete turnaround I'm sure that I saw Maggie Kirkpatrick as a prisoner known as "The Governor" and a former flame of Alf Roberts on Home & Away!
As far as i have seen Val Lehman and Maggie Kirkpatrick have never been 'typecast' i have never seen them in a role simular to Bea Smith or Joan Ferguson but i also havent seen them in any long running t.v character roles, which i would have like to have seen. I have heard, and does this go back to? the way older actors and actresses are cast in Australia? I have heard and pretty much seen, its all teenagers and youths and only stereotype characters of older people given to older actors.
That's right, Fagmallion. She played top dog Viv Standish who was also known as "The Guv" in the same prison where Dani Sutherland was put. Viv and Alf Stewart had a son together, but he sadly died manys years before. In Maggie's second stint in Home And Away, Viv told Alf about her son and that she was not well and was dying.
Even then we never saw Bea Smith's body so I'm sure they could have written the character back to being alive again. it wasn't a done deal that she was dead really!
Love Prsoner - especially these two great actors. Watching this in 2022
Two of the best characters on Prisoner!loved them both!
BOTH Fantastic Characters, Maggie Kirkpatrick & Val Lehman Fantastic Actresses

carol burns was the1st person on prisoner to win a logie NOT val leaman😊
@laminage Betty Bobbit won best supporting actor Logie one year. 1982 I think. Carol Burns might have won one too?
I know that Val Lehman won a Lodgie Award but did any of the others win Awards.
Hey, i'm in this video lol.
who are you?
I really wish they hadn't killed bea off and she came back with the barnhurt lot
Val Lehman was asked to come back three times and she refused each time which is why Bea was killed off.

i Wouldnt mind knowing that either, if u ever find out, - message me will u? lol
