    I test drove 21 and decided to keep my 17 forever 😂 You just can't beat the "rawness" of the early models

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  3 года назад +9

      the 21 out of the box was too luxury and SOFT the earlier cars are way louder and twitchy which I do like but i have to admit the improvements on the 21 rear end grip and confidence, and shock tuning how it mates to the kw st sport springs is magic. We will see how the Kw ddc kit works on my 18. Also the braking system on the 21 is so much better than the early cars that is one of the biggest complaints everyone including myself had over the years. I wish we could reprogram the IBS to feel like the 21 on our early cars but i doubt that is possible as it could be a hardware change they made as well to the unit.

      Yeah I won’t be selling my 2017 model anytime soon. Especially since I’ve remapped it to now push out 604bhp. The performance is incredible, lots of low down torque and a serious pull at the top of the revs. It feels so raw and exciting. I’m also very glad I got the carbon ceramics, the stopping power is phenomenal.

      @@autofanaticcars You're actually sure about the outside sound ?
      The quadrifoglio I plan to buy has the akrapovic line, maybe that will compensate for the fact that the windows are thicker now? I actually have two purchase options:
      A 2019 Giulia quadrifoglio in Monte Carlo blue but with few options, and it will need new rims and brake caliper color. It has 16,777 miles and costs $76,550, I was able to take it for a a test drive and it makes a great noise
      A 2021 Giulia quadrifoglio in Monte Carlo Blue but with the perfect rims and calipers, and with a lot of options including the akrapovic exhaust system. It has only 3728 miles but costs $87,000. I'm just worried about the difference in noise it may make (I've never seen it in real life), maybe it will be possible to correct that by reworking the exhaust line at a garage (someone told me it was possible, talking about 200-cell downpipe, free center and free end with resonator; to be honest I have no idea what that is).

    I thought you could not buy the Centerline muffler anymore. I want to do some mods on my 2020 QV, and liked the #3 tubing that Centerline had. Hope I am wrong.
    I do have the 8 year 125k Mopar warranty, so I am pretty mod averse.
    I am in Philly with my 2020 Trofeo White QV, would love to meet up!

      no 2020 not based on the actual car but how that year derailed everyones life around the world and wrecked havoc on the economy and everything else, just a little thing i have when years remind me of certain scenarios in life that you do not want to remember which is why i passed on getting a 2020 GT350R Heritage model and sold my 2020 C8 Vette build to a customer before i ever saw it.

    i will take you up on your offer to test drive :) i was hoping you could help out with my 2018 QV issue. when i use the wiper fluid the entire reservoir drains out and the dash shows the low on wiper fluid warning. and when i fill it back up the warning goes away. but it doesn’t leak everytime. i took it to the alfa romeo service here in philly and they checked the reservoir and said they didn’t find any leak and they couldn’t recreate the issue. i got the car back and in a few days the same thing happened. i know the fluid is leaking from somewhere because i tried it in the garage and there was a pool of the wiper fluid underneath. any idea? and thanks in advance!

      sound like your washer pump is defective its a huge PITA to remove it from the car as its mounted inside the drivers front fender.

    Also on mine when i turn the wheel all the way to the left or right i get this rotational clicking from the front of the car. Does anyone else get this, usually it's worse in the rain..

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  3 года назад +3

      please retorque your front wheel lug nuts. the front rotors are a dual cast design with aluminum centers and cast iron rings which expand and contract at different rates to the different materials which can make noise at times but I have seen improper lug bolt torque also cause clicking on many cars including the QV

    • @autofanaticcars

      yes it's the shock tuning and something i always complained about since I got my 2018 wishing to firm that up a bit. It appears they went softer on the shock tuning on the earlier cars with stiffer springs and did the opposite on the new cars which is why the 21 responds so well to the lowering kit I hope the KW ddc will solve that issue but on the 21 car you do not need to worry about not having coil overs because with the Kw st springs it feels PERFECT on the road.

    Is it smart to just shift these car twice and then forget about it and let them sit at 4k to 5k rpm constantly like that cant be good can it ? Like cruising at 4k?! At like 40mph?

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  3 года назад

      its not about MPG on a performance car they are designed to be reved and kept in the power band for most fun. will not hurt the car at 4k RPM as long as you do not pin the car at redline for extended periods its fine.

    • @MysticShot

      @@autofanaticcars ok that definitely answers my question. I just didn't know if at the end of the day holding the rpm so high constantly would damage engine or transmission. Would you recommend a used say 2018 or 2019 ? Any major problems that I should be aware of? Any turbo problems ?

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  3 года назад

      My ethos on high performance turbo cars is check the oil often each week and change it more often than they suggest. On my black 2018 QV i changed the oil at 1000 mark then every 2k miles because of the heat and wear and tear of the turbos create. If you fail to do this and the engine burns oil and your not aware it will grenade like any other over time

    • @MysticShot
      @MysticShot 3 года назад

      @@autofanaticcars thanks for the heads up. Didn't know turbo engines required that much attention. I guess thats why so many people often complain about turbos going bad and cars being crap. In reality they are just not taking good care of their vehicles
