- I ripped the ECUs out of my Giulia Quadrifoglio and sent them to Alfissimo International for bench tuning. I'm now running the Squadra Massimo tune and these are my impressions

I'm really happy with this tune. Are you guys ready for the upcoming video on the downpipes? It's taking me a few days to film but I've never heard the car quite like this before
excited to hear the beast
@@jeffrey-f it sounds nuts I promise
?? What about warranty... Also seems like they rev to 6ooo so fast. did the tune give you the power at a lower RPM
@@tcathunder yeah you’re gambling with your engine warranty with a tune if the issue is caused by the change in tune. It’s definitely an increase in power across the range
@@CarEnthused Kinda figured.. Thanks!
Just drove mine home from the shop today with the Squadra Tune. And wow is right. Especially in Race mode. Feels super refined but even more punch. Loving it. Thanks for your advice. Made the difference for me.
Glad to hear it man! It’s hard to communicate how nice of a tune it is
hey brother love the car, just wanted to ask how reliable has it been with the tune. I'm currently looking at 2019 qv with 14k miles, thinking about pulling the trigger and maybe get a squadra tune since its out of warranty, or just get a mopar extended warranty. but seeing some of the issues some owners have been dealing with is kinda putting me off. very new to alfas, love how they drive. Thanks
Looking forward the downpipe, hopefully you got stock vs new downpipes shots
I didn’t spend much time on before clips because there are a ton already but I’m not aware of any downpipe-only videos yet
So, do you think the 10% gain is worth the money? This is seriously one of the only cons of the QV. Then again I didn’t buy mine for the sake of tuning it. I still find joy in its stock tune. Thanks for sharing!
Oh absolutely. I mean 560hp is no joke. The difference is definitely noticeable and super appreciable. It's not an obnoxious tune but I'm not looking for a 600hp+ Quadrifoglio when the car was designed around 505hp. The bang for the buck is definitely there power-wise and that's before you consider the livability improvements.
@@CarEnthused what is the 0-60 and 1/4 mile after the tune ?
From the factory this is already a very fast car. Unless you are tracking the car i see no need f05 more power.
Yeah I don't disagree - I needed a tune for my downpipes (that I want for sound) so I wanted a well-sorted tune to take care of that
I just wonder if $1200 is really worth the performance increase?
$1,200 is 1.5% of the cost of the car. That’s relatively cheap
Ours is making 590 :) i think we need 800whp
I can’t even imagine over 600hp in this car on the road 😂
@@CarEnthused the dynamic/ race mode comments were perfect, drove spirited in race mode in freezing temperatures on the stock pirellis, that was enough to make me never do that ever again 🤣
@@mass2689 oh yeah those tires need a lot of heat!
Keep going brother! Which downpipe you going for?
I have the supersprint downpipes
Hey what’s the radar detector. I got a redline 360c and makes my tire sender light come on. Sux Also had a loner did the same
I’m running an Escort Max360!
I may have missed it in the video if you covered it, but while you mentioned the increase in overall torque production due to the tune, did you notice a "reduction in the torque limiting in 1st and 2nd gear in Dynamic"? Also, while a less sexy feature of the tune, did they in fact smooth out the cold idle a bit? I'll keep an eye out for the downpipe video - I've been wondering how much of a pain they'd be to swap out.
The downpipe job took my shop 4.5 hours and it makes a huuuuge difference in the sound. The cold start idle is dramatically improved and it’s not at all as obnoxious as OEM. Lastly that torque limiting I believe is removed as well. Since I genuinely spend all of my time in Race I can’t speak too much to what it was like in Dynamic before but I believe you can think of Dynamic as Race mode with traction intervention with this tune
As somebody that is not mechanically inclined.....are there shops that will install the tune for you? BTW...looks like Boulder out the window :P
They will for sure but it can be pricey for the labor to remove the ECUs. It wasn’t too miserable to do it
Next year “check out this Manhart 650 Hp tune.”
I can’t imagine wanting more power than this tune gave me 😂
I am very hesitant to do a tune. One of my main concerns is the fact that low and mid range extra torque, the giulia will make it harder to drive in race mode, particularly in wet roads...loss of traction, additional lag...etc. I would love a tune that just would additional torque along the rev range to make the curve as flat as possible... Could you share a dyno? I clearly would not want max torque to increase. Stock it is already very strong in the low range, decreasing along the way up...I just wanted the torque not to decrease and see the power coming as much as a NA engine as possible...I really need help to decide about this...I think most tuners wreck the car drivability particularly if you drive fast in curves...and like to accelerate quick out of them
Email me at Tyler at carenthused.com - I’ll talk you through my tune but as far as drivability in race mode that’s exactly what I wanted and I’m still very happy with this tune
@@CarEnthused Hi, thanks. I already emailed you. Let me know if it did not get there...
your driving looks like even 200hp would be enough for you 😀
🤔
@@CarEnthused you are driving in Race, but changing gears at 2-3000 rpm's, not even using half of available power?!? Don't understad why? and whats the point og tuning the car to 560hp?! obviousely you arent using it....
If you had ever pushed those oem 500hp to the redline in every gear with full throtle, I think you would never think of Maping the engine for more Power nor keep it in race on streets... unless you are profy racer 🤔
@@Sasa9464 😂 alright buddy. If you’re looking for me to shout commentary over the car being redlined on the street I think you’re looking for a different channel
@@Sasa9464 He mentioned in his video he always used Race mode because the exhaust valves are open. Plus, who drives like a bat out of hell everywhere on public roads!?! LoL
@Terrence Hubbard there has to be a health median I understand what he saying why buy a car like that to baby it all the time its meant for a track use your mind it's meant to be driven hard I have a qv drive it hard never even had a check engine light.
I want a tune to make it more reliable
That’s just maintenance
@@CarEnthused you’re right. Leaky radiator and leaky turbo rings would be “just maintenance. lol
@@DtotheS2595 I don’t think a tune is going to help you there either 😞
So does this set up feel more aggressive then the ideal race tune and downpipes or lower?
I’ve never driven the Ideal tune but this isn’t an aggressive tune so it feels like an extension of what we got from the factory rather than something dialed up to 11
@@CarEnthused i have a question you might have an awnser to. Can you run e85 or any e gas on the stock fuel pump if so whats the max e for stock
@@Shortyzworldtv that I’m not sure about - that’s above and beyond my own power wants/needs so I’ve never really looked into it
How much weed did this hippie sell to afford a tuned Quadrifoglio? Jokes aside. Great car man.
Alfa Romeo was basically giving them away!
When is the next video when you actually drive the car?
Very soon. What kind of driving videos do you like? (Examples of other channels)
@@CarEnthused i think you should do dragy tests like 60-130 and 0-60 because i want to see how this would do do
you don't ever seem to push the car? I drive in D most of the time and am always pushing harder than you are.
More power please!
How much is too much!?
@@CarEnthused it's perfect power, that's what the phase meant , I got it from commercial
did you void your car warranty. what do you do if you go to the dealer for service
This isn't legal advice but your whole car's warranty doesn't get voided due to a modification. Specific warranty claims may be denied due to a modification _if_ they can point to the modification being the cause of the problem (i.e. blown turbos from pushing way more boost). So that's a risk you have to assume. But that's why I also didn't want to go with a really massive increase in HP from a tune, I wanted something appreciable but modest. My car was serviced a few times with the tune, no issue
Why this instead of the jb4?
I’m not interested in a piggyback tune
