I've owned my 2019 Giulia QV for 13 months. I've put 14,000 miles on the car, having driven all over the east coast, from Maine to Miami and back. Cruising at between 90 and 100mph at times. It's a hard car to drive slowly. Cruising I can get 28mpg, but to be honest I don't care about the cost of gas. No reliability issues of any kind. Drove with the original oil until the service light came on at 10,000 miles. Did the 10,000 miles service at the dealer, no cost to me. No problems of any kind to report. Love the dual nature of the car. A relaxed long distance cruiser, quiet and comfy. Or, a monster, roaring to 140mph merging onto the interstate. This is truly a great car to own. And it's a rare opportunity for an average guy to access supercar performance. As one owner with 20 years of Ferrari experience told me. "Ferrari's hand is all over this car, not just the engine, but suspension, brakes, steering, and aerodynamics too."
They are really amazing. The performance in a sedan of this size and price point is absolutely wild and it feels far more exotic than the price tag would suggest
The reliability issue is no issue , just people assuming that the are . Mine is a 2018 model 26000km , no issues , no oil usage only fun ! A lot more reliable than an m3/4 c63amg !
I always get a bit irked when people (in the US) say Alfa Romeos are not reliable. Since Alfa pulled out of the US market in 1995, most of their "data points" are from the 1980's/early 1990s! Not exactly the Golden Age of Automotive Engineering!😂 I had a few American (Plymouth) cars in the 1980s and they had issues from day 1!
@@CarEnthused Yes! If you ask a couple of questions like: "Was it your Alfa?", ""Well, no..., it was my barber's nephew's friend in another state..." 😂
You are so correct! The band suffers from 'fake news' about reliability. I have owned 5 Alfa Romeos, dating back to 1974 Spider Veloce model. Not one of them was unreliable. I have the new Giulia Veloce now, no issues at all.
My 2018 I bought in 2019 with 3k has been flawless. Sure, there are electronic gremlins, but all sports cars have that. Overall, this car has been as reliable as any car I've ever owned only it provides more smiles per hour.
28 months into owning alfa stelvio ti sport and all its cost me besides gas and oil is ZERO! Beautiful awesome and totally reliable......(turbo 4) not turbo v6..
I have a 2019 OV and love it. It does however have some electrical gremlins. If the vehicle sits for over 4 days I always get a check engine light and the code is for misfire on a random cylinder. Another thing is that it’s been pretty reliable. The car drives amazing though which makes me forget about it’s faults. I just wish my dealer could figure out why I always get that random check engine light. My last complaint is with the turbo lag. They are slower to light than I thought it would be.
That's got to be super frustrating re: the electrical issues. Because of the CO temperatures and the Pirellis my car is sitting for ~4 days between drives during the week on occasion and I haven't had that issue fortunately. I've read about that issue somewhere though and supposedly it should be something that can be fixed by software... whenever that software is finally released. As for the turbo lag, if you're talking about it being slower to start from a stop then I think what you're actually running up against is the engineered delay in the throttle response. The QV (even in Race mode) has a supposedly intentional delay in throttle response to keep the car from getting out on people right off of the line. Supposedly some of the throttle tuning options can completely eliminate this. I haven't looked into it myself because I drive in Race 99% of the time and I feel like it's helpful for me more often than not... though it is weird and I would theoretically prefer for it not to be like that. I just haven't thrown money at a solution yet
If people don’t give the justice these cars, I may one day be able to afford one, and if my luck changes I will buy it new with not as many features I will do mods too. Good video!!
Greetings from another KC-area driver, and congrats on the Giulia Q! I have always been intrigued by that car. The "regular" Giulia is even a really great value on the used market. One of my good friends is thinking about dumping his IS 350 for a Giulia, and I am hoping he does so eventually.
I've only driven a 2.0 as a loaner but I was surprised, they're fairly peppy and they're a nice car. It's also nice to be in something a bit different than the crowd!
