  • Landing the Knockdown is one of the single most important things you can do in Street Fighter 6, and in fighting games in general. So for SF6 let me teach you the many ways to pressure your opponent on their wakeup after you have knocked them down. If you have ever heard the term Okizeme, this is that stuff right here!
    0:00 - Intro and Meaty Attacks
    3:25 - The Frame Kill
    9:21 - Throw Loops
    11:25 - Knockdowns are important!

    So here we are with another Street Fighter 6 guide and its time to learn your options after you land the knockdown and begin your pressure! Its always good to attack the enemy as they are getting up, but learning how to make that offense much more efficient is very much to your benefit, so learn the secrets of Knockdown Pressure, or Okizeme as they call it in the biz!

    Just a basic "why this works" explanation:
    You are more plus for meaties because there is a fixed amount of "getting hit" animation frames (both hit and block animations). It is to your advantage to hit on the latest possible active frame because they will still go through 26 frames of "getting hit" animation whether you hit them on the first active frame or the 4th active frame. you're basically shifting the bottom indicator frame timeline slightly to the right giving you more frame advantage.

    After watching this vid, I started labbing what kinds of meaties Zangief can get off of certain knockdowns. Turns out he gets some good options off of Double Supplex if he follows up with a drive rush into Forward Knee, thanks to it having 7 active frames! After ending combos with EX Lariat against a grounded foe, he can frame kill with forward knee (whiff) and be +4 and threaten an SPD even against back roll. There's certainly more knockdowns I'll have to experiment with. :o

    • @phdbot4483
      @phdbot4483 Год назад +1

      @@mitchmediak Playing around a bit more, Siberian Express (running grab mid/far range) can also get the DR Knee meaty, but unlike Supplex it must be manually timed, but can link into cMP > Lariat, or be +6 on block if timed correctly. Meterless Lariat in the corner can allow Siberian Express to grab meaty, but you'll have to space yourself by holding back during Lariat, and the grab is reactable, so you might be better off going for an SPD, a strike or an anti-air, lol. As I mentioned before, EX Lariat will be the one you want to use Midscreen, as you can close in with the forward knee (whiff) and threaten an SPD even if they back roll.
      Like the other guy said, it can help to spectate skilled Zangief players like Snake Eyez or Itazan, try labbing out possible knockdown options yourself.

    Let me follow up with some beginner questions, since you didn't dive into the defensive options. I feel like that was almost necessary for this video:
    1) Throw loops from a Cammy or a Ryu. I assume I defend those by teching the throw while standing up? Or neutral jump? Would that work during a throw loop?
    2) Meatys. What do I do against those? Parry while standing up? Use an EX invincible move like a Shoryuken? What if my character doesn't have any invincible wake up options. Am I stuck in a loop and get meaty-combo'ed to death?
    3) If there are options against all of that stuff, I assume in the end it then boils down to mind games? Should I EX DP since my opponent is going for a meaty into full combo? Should I tech throw?

    • @V2ULTRAKill
      @V2ULTRAKill Год назад +1

      You have to learn these reads yourself
      Tech the throw, either dp or go for the parry
      Block and stay on defense
      These are all options you have
      The onus is on you to understand how your opponent is playing the pressure game, and get the reads

    I love ur content. Sometimes, I wonder why I watch these types of videos, though because this is so far beyond my level of skill in the Iron league.

    I kinda doubt throw loops in the corner are going anywhere, it seems very intentional that the majority of the cast got them. Its most likely to balance out how strong parry is going to be once the game gets more developed, it blocks all other kindd of mix ups for you and getting your meaty perfect parried is almost certainly going to be very common at the high level. So i think in general throws are gonna stay very strong.
