    I just had to replace my 80gal 7.5hp Quency compressor that was only 5-years old and maybe ran 4 hours a week. I got 10hp 80gal tank Emax Your review is spot on.

      I wish you the best of luck with your new compressor, don't forget to call Emax and get the stuff for after the break in an period.

    I just bought the 7.5hp without the whisper because mine is in a compressor room behind the shop. They seem like heavy duty compressors

    • @SteffsGarage
      @SteffsGarage  Год назад +1

      Dude that is the dream to have a paint room and a AC room for the compressor. It's got to be beneficial for keeping the air cool, I would assume.
      These seem to be heavy duty I agree. They have that 100% duty cycle.

      @@SteffsGarage I mainly like having it out my way and lower noise. I do lots of stuff with air and also like if I’m grinding or painting something the overspray and rusty dirty air isn’t being pulled into the filtration system

    I am about to pull the trigger on a new air compressor and its between the Polar Air or Emax. It looks like they are the same build and Polar Air is a little cheaper. I wanted to ask how your Emax is performing while your painting? Do you have enough CFM to run your paint guns with no downtime and are you happy with the 5HP or would you rather have purchased the 7.5HP? Any feedback would be great in helping me with my purchase.

    • @SteffsGarage
      @SteffsGarage  Год назад +3

      I have t tried the polar air compressor but when I called Eaton and talked to the representative there, they said the Emax was the highest quality built consumer level compressor out of the whole line up. It came down to the components that they are built with.
      I do not experience any downtime and it performs very well. I am using a devilbiss tekna pro lite spray gun with a 1.3-1.4mm tip. The compressor typically cycles once or twice while doing an all over paint job on a medium car - truck. The 5hp doesn't slack at all for me. I run DA sanders, air files, cut off wheels, and air hammers regularly with no hesitation on my unit. I did buy the maintenance kit Emax offered and I have only had to do one oil change so far.
      It's truly worth every bit of the cost. If I did it over again I would have bought it sooner when they offered the air dryer combo.

    im debating between emax and Schulz . I'm leaning towards Schulz

      @SteffsGarage  Год назад

      I've never heard of Schulz. I'd say if you are in the realm of these two I'd say they are both great units. See who is easier to get a hold of on the phone and go with them.

    Do you have anything to filter out the water when painting ?

    • @SteffsGarage
      @SteffsGarage  Год назад

      I have an online filter system but I need a refrigerant air fryer to be efficient. I use this filter on my gun called "fisheye filter" and that fixed some issues I was having

    The Emax looks like a nice compressor. I have a US made 60-gallon Quincy that runs amazingly quiet. Saylor Beall are high quality US made compressors. If a person wants a good quality US made compressor, they are going to pay more for them.

      You are spot on. I was hoping that my point came across in the video, although it may have been a read between the lines thing. You get what you pay for more often than not.

      @@HondaCrf450r. The 60-gallon QT-54 compressors were made in the US but about 3-4 years ago they started making the pumps in China and started using China motors. Some still have the US Baldor motor and some have the China made WEG motor. I got my QT-54 while they were still USA made.

    You are correct that the compressors you listed are crap, but what you don’t realize is that one is too. You can look at the pump and tell. That pump is shit. Quincy, FS curtis, Saylor Beall, Champion are the only way to go.

    • @SteffsGarage
      @SteffsGarage  Год назад +1

      I can't say I agree with you but I do appreciate the time you took to write in. I don't claim to be an expert but based on what research I did this is the best bang for your buck in this price point. I can say that I didn't find a single compressor with this many quality made parts for this price and certainly no other compressor has the silent air system.

      Quincys are junk to I'm looking at getting a new one my 80 Gallon has had 3 pumps In a 3 year span. Not to mention Quincy quality control is nuts. When I first got mine has to return the first 1 and the second one. First has a leak in the tank second one wouldn't even turn on!

    Hey guy please don’t fall for that EMAX, stuff, I own a body shop for 27 yrs and believe when I tell you this, I ve gone through a compressor or two in the many yrs as an owner and I’ve done my homework like any others business owner the compressor is the heart of any body shop there’s no doubt about that, in most cases compressor failure happens do to lack of maintenance, u are going to get curious about what I am going to say, the compressor head in this EMAX compressor is identical the same size compressor head as the Husky model C801H this the cheaper compressor of 2 Husky 80 Gal. One runs $ 1750.00 and change and the C801H $1400.00 and change I own two C801H I replace the head on 1 after 41/2 yrs ordered it from Home Depot 315 out the door no need to replace motor and 2nd one still going strong We just replace the oil once a yr, parts are cheap but when you start having problems with the compressor head is best to replace the head is away much more cheaper and easier that is my two cents please check that option and always change your oil the compressor head will last you longer Take Care guys and good luck.

      Wished I would have known beforehand Louie but the customer service at Emax has been outstanding and that's what I was looking for. I hope the husky meets your needs as the Emax is meeting mine. I keep my oil changed every six months as I run mine pretty hard in bad conditions in the shop.

    • @HondaCrf450r.
      @HondaCrf450r. 25 дней назад

      You are very wrong about that. The emaxx compressor puts out way more cfm then the husky one they may look similar but the emaxx is more powerful putting out over 19cfm and the husky only putting out around 14 or 15.

      Yea, I noticed that after it was done. It was more so touching on the overall quality from the start. I have another update that was mixed in with the rapid air system. I plan on doing a year update. Just been slammed at my shop.
      It's a great compressor and has given me zero issues whatsoever. They are not the same price anymore and have increased. There were no reviews of the compressor when I bought mine that I could find. Probably a few more now

      @SteffsGarage I've been researching compressors for a few months now that mine shit the bed. This specific unit has really gotten my attention, that's why I was really looking for a review that takes it apart and justifies the cost. This will be my last compressor in this life. I don't want to make a mistake, or drop the ball between 3rd and home plate for a couple hundred bucks.
