I finally got my 7.5 hp Silent Air compressor (ES07V080V1) wired. You guys weren't kidding. You really can stand next to it, while it's running, and have a conversation at normal voice levels. Impressive!

So I share a building that has a machine shop that has an Emax and I can tell you this it is quiet compared to our Quincy.

Turns mic to the “loud piston”, then stands facing away from “silent piston”. Wow! It’s so quiet!

I will add that during testing of brand X you are directly facing the pump assembly but then you test the emax you are standing in front of the compressor assembly.

Our competitors test their DBA levels outside at 20FT away. We tested these units in our shop standing directly next to the compressors to get the best results to show the true difference.

Did you watch the same video as everyone else? He turned and faced both units. This wasn't a scientific test. Your point is moot, and contribution worthless.

What is not clear is the power. The 5 hp says 24 amps. That means it should work with a 30 amp breaker but I think I read it needs a 40 amp breaker and then 8 AWG wire.

We edited the power lines out of the image to have a cleaner more focused video on what we wanted the audience to focus on which is the noise reduction.

@@emaxcompressor1684 what else did you edit out with the cgi background? Did a door open and allow the sound out for the emax test? I've watched other videos on this compressor and it didn't seem this quiet. Add that to the fakery in this video and it raises question.

    • @emaxcompressor1684

@@jwill9877 This video was done years ago. we agree it needs updated seeing as now our compressors have pressure lubricated pumps. But nothing was hidden when this video was made. The idea was to be in the EMAX garage and we are not professionals. Now we have a media team and they are currently are working on new videos to post so be looking for those.

@@jwill9877 dude there is barely an air filter on that pump... That's loud.
The emax had it's intake plumbed into an air box a lot like a car does.
This is the same reason a cold air intake on even a Honda makes it "loud" vs stock.
It's not rocket science and anyone can add a stock car intake box to a compressor and quiet it down a LOT!

I am researching Emax products looking for one for my needs. I love that this product comes with a 5-yr bumper-to-bumper warranty but where are they installed and does the buyer get a choice of bumper styles and finishes to compliment the air compressor? I specifically need a 2-stage air compressor at home for the sole purpose of truck maintenance. This includes ability to quickly inflate semi-truck tires of 110-120 psi, and to operate 1/2" and 1" impacts of 14.5 cfm at 100 psi. The smallest unit I've found so far on HomeDepot's website is 80-gal 1-phase electric weighing a whopping 620-lbs. Too big, too heavy. I don't know how to size air tanks but I'd think 30/40-gal tank with 2-stage compressor, 1-phase electric motor setup would suffice which could be moved with a simple hand dolly.

*After years of hauling around a large,💫 **allabout.wiki/PORTER** heavy, loud dewalt air compressor (that ironically was advertised as quiet, supposedly 78dB), I bought this. Facepalm. While it is not ‘silent’, I find myself chuckling every time I use it, sparing all my neighbors the terror of my former compressor. I use for inflating tires, impact wrench, finish nailers. Absolutely love it. And I store it under the garage sink in a 24” cabinet. I paired with a coil 1/2”, instead of a my former 50’ 5/8” hose that I had to lug across the yard from the shed, unpleasantly uncoil.... this little guy is light and portable; just a joy. Impact wrench is still capable of easing lug bolts, flywheel bolts, crank pulleys... just allow for a tiny bit of recovery now and then.*
