You know that bedtime story thing McConnahey did? I want Liam to do one because I would listen to it every dang night when I get all comfy for beddy byes.
OMG is it just me or the minute Liam Neeson break his voice, it's just a whole otherworldly ASMR?! LOL. Even his voice while talking casually is like hearing a movie going.
Imagine Anthony Hopkins feeling the imposter syndrome. That's like.. I don't have a comparison, it's like Anthony Hopkins not realizing he's the greatest actor of all time.
I watched The Bounty a very long time ago & don't really remember it - WTF what a loaded cast! The aforementioned Hopkins, Gibson, and Neeson ... also Daniel Day Lewis, Bernard Hill, and Laurence Olivier
What we're all dying to know is does Liam Neeson still have his forklift certification? I want to see him take a refresher course, maybe on the old type of forklift he used and then have him move some pallets. Maybe load a truck, or some shelves. Also loved when he did the "Not Worthy" bow.
That's the sign of a guy destined for success in life. Working the most boring job imaginable but somehow enjoys it enough to say he loves it. Every job I've ever had I hated so much, the only way I get through the day is by playing a game of trying not to look at the clock for as long as possible, and guessing what time it will be when I look again. Feels so good when more time has passed than you think.
Hey!! I thought I invented that game??🤣 But, seriously…. Having never finished college….. I would get job after dam job…. Get just enough incremental promotions…until the money’s not bad anymore………. We ALL GET IMPOSTER’S SYNDROME….. lol ……… the trick is…… perfect your craft…… get it out there!! In the end…… it’s not about the “likes and eyeballs”…. If you’re a CONAN OR A LIAM…… You will inevitably….. rise the top!!! ……like bubbles…. In a good pint. 🍻 Soooo….. Shawn…..we never we give up!!! Cheers my dear!
My favorite part time job I had after college, was working for a company that manufactured Laxatives. They made and packaged Metamucil that grain-like product one mixes into water to aid in waste elimination. They also made glycerin suppositories,....all things that help you have an easy bowel movement. It was kind of fascinating.
@@DaveBoy Funny story,.....the powdered Metamucil, was airborne, and the air in the factory was colored a tan-brown. Everyone was required to wear a face mask. The old timers, refused and were inhaling that powder, all day long. They'd spend their break time, reaming that crud out of their noses. I bet their lungs were full of that stuff. Laxative Lung.
The sheer gravitas in his voice… this seems like a pretty standard anecdote, but it sounds like he’s describing some (possibly tragic) life-defining moment
Poor Liam in CONFESSION! We loved Conan's TV Show. The only other podcast I've listened to is "Working Dads" by Alexis Ohanian. Conan is GREAT as a host. I could listen to Liam's voice 24/7!
I enjoyed the Liam Neeson interview. I decided to watch one of his movies I hadn't seen yet. I watched "A Walk Among the Tombstones" and it was good. I also enjoyed the Steve Martin & Martin Short interview. Thank you.
Interesting when they started talking about their experience with Imposter Syndrome. It's amazing to me how common it is - that feeling that you don't really belong here, that you're going to get "found out". Anthony Hopkins too? Wow.
I was born in Holles Street. Most kids were bottle fed formula milk rather than breast fed when I was born in the 70's..The tradition was that Guinness portar was considered a good way to replace lost iron for new mothers. The Guinness people drink in pints is stout beet, portar is slightly different in that it has bubbles and has not got that creamy foamy head. The truth is most Irish women hate Guinness and it's extremely rare to see one drinking it. If you are in Ireland and you do see a woman drinking Guinness, they're more than 50% likely to be a tourist.
Mi hermoso señor Liam como está cada día que pasa lo amo más y más pero no es posible poder darle un abrazo y decirle cuánto lo amo y lo quiero mi querido señor Liam le deseo todo lo mejor y le envío un súper abrazo ❤❤❤
Watching Disney+ lately it seems that lightsaber stabbing isn't so bad after all. Qui-Gon was probably going to be fine. Until they cremated him. That's harder to bounce back from.
As much as I enjoy this podcast version. I'm hoping Liam Neeson will return when Matt and Sona are involved. The banter between them all is absolutely hilarious.
Im glad more actors are doing audiobooks, it was abhorrent before, I'll gladly pay more for a pleasant reading voice. I'm more of a Smithwick's guy, Guinness is not my thing.
I worked in manufacturing for over 37 years, I drove forklift as well and I was not a fan, you can potentially do thousands of dollars in damage with your lift, I just went back to my punch press, got paid the same wage and no responsibility
On the other hand, one time when I was eating at Hoolihans,™ a USA based chain of diners, and there was the broken neck to a beer bottle in my salad. I actually had it in my mouth and had to spit it out immediately, when my teeth clattered and crunched on the rather large glass shard. I should have made the biggest stink and yelled at someone,....but I was too timid. I quietly informed my server,....and my passive approach, only garnered me a new salad. No apology,....no one said my meal was "on the house" as a means of compensation,....nothing. I could have choked on the glass, or broke a tooth, and cut up my whole mouth.. Madness!
You think about the other people at that table -- Spielberg, Obama, Springsteen -- and none of them came from the upper classes. They all had imposter syndrome.
I was told by someone who worked at strohs in Detroit, that there was a drinking fountain that only issued beer..dunno if it was true..but what if there was?
Conan is hilarious. He still believes he's actually "Oirish". Not sure how old Conan is, or when he last visited Ireland (Europe's most dynamic pharma and tech hub), but all his depictions are strangely from the 1930s and 1940s. What is nice in this video is Liam Neeson being especially polite, not interrupting to correct Conan, but simply allowing him to enjoy his invented nostalgia moments and Quiet Man era fantasies.
I want Liam to swaddle me, look in to my eyes and tell me what he'd do to billionaires if they messed with me. (I'm an obese man in my late 50s just to help with the imagery).
Haha!! As soon as I typed it, I started questioning it!! "Would the apostrophe on O'Brien come first alphabetically or would it not matter and just be ignored??"
Ha!!! Ok, so i attempted to google this and tried looking up the MLA and APA but didn't get very far on their websites so i just opened a word document, made one citation for each, Liam Neissen, Barrack Obama and Conan O'Brien. Then i made a "Works Cited" page and pretty much all of them had Obama before O'Brien, so you are correct!!!
Liam Neeson can tell the story of being a forklift driver and make it seem like a James Bond film.
What a voice... he can tell the most innocuous of stories and it still sounds like he is about to kill you!
You know that bedtime story thing McConnahey did? I want Liam to do one because I would listen to it every dang night when I get all comfy for beddy byes.

Every audible book should be narrated by Liam. Just an all time captivating voice!
I'd love to hear him reading Dr. Seuss books. That would be amazing.

An Irishman having something to do with Guinness? The mind boggles!
On a serious note, there's a sadness when Liam mentions his late wife.
I thought he might have been talking about an earlier marriage but I checked and his only one was to Natasha Richardson.

I can listen to a whole series of audiobooks by Liam. Dude's voice can literally cut through a block of ice like butter.
I love his voice. He's clearly among the greats, you know, Christopher Lee, Brian Blessed, John Hurt, James Earl Jones...
Richard Burton, the greatest voice of all.
It's a pure pleasure to hear him talking. Amazing voice.
I just finished all four clips. WE NEED THE FULL INTERVIEW! What a great conversation. Loving the podcast!
