dude this helped me so much. i played vanilla launch through tbc and mained holy priest in raid. just got back into retail and it's been so a lot to learn because the game is so different. I started with holy priest and have been up to ~15 in keys and almost aotc. I feel a lot clearer on how the class works and am really looking forward to pushing higher and getting up to speed for s3!

Divine word serenity is essentially a 50% throughput cd plus 20% mana reduction for 15ec on a 1min timer. With lightweaver it's insane. In an organized group disc can feel smoother overall, but in random pugs holy absolutely blasts healing on demand when disc can just short circuit. The hardest part about holy is getting the invite.
Extremely helpful guide! I've been healing in the off season and have gotten up to M+ 15s, but wanted to up my game a little. Do you have any kind of tracker for when Prayer of Mending comes off cooldown? I find it hard to reapply on cooldown and I sometimes miss it when a holy word takes it off CD as well. Thanks again for the guide!
Thanks! I don’t have a tracker handy, but I’ve heard other people do, so maybe check on wago.io for a WeakAura. Another practice tool that you could do would be to join into any low level key (or heroic dungeon even), and focus exclusively on casting PoM on cooldown, even while out of combat. Isolating it down to just practicing that will help make it more automated. Best of luck!
Thanks for the tip I'll try a lower key to get the rhythm down. I think when I'm pushing challenging keys I just tunnel a little too much and lose track of the rotation. Looking forward to more vids from you as 10.2 ramps up. @@ragnongaming
H priest main here. I ABSOLUTELY use a timer for tracking Prayer of Mending! "Tell me when" is a great addon I use that will play a customized sound off CD. The add-on also has a giant CUstomizable logo of the spell that will popup when PoM is off CD. I find that it really helps me maximize my efficiency using PoM.

No problem! Depends on what you’re looking for. If you are doing up to mid 20s as your goal and you pug a lot, it’s going to be great. If you are pushing the highest keys, it will be overshadowed by disc for the reasons it always has been (passive damage, damage reduction). It’ll be a lot stronger than people give it credit; a lot of content creators dislike playing holy and just regurgitate the same reasoning about placing Holy at the bottom of their tier lists rather than giving it a genuine try. I love it and am planning on playing a lot of Holy in 10.2 m+
Hello man, thanks for your Content! i've been kicked from a group because they want me to MIND CONTROL (but i think they mean dominate mind) wild vortex in vortex pinnacle...and i had never heard that. Sincerly, i've never seen this in any video. Do you use it?
The only thing I’ve ever used dominate mind for in VP was the double adept pack toward the end of the dungeon, and I regularly do that in pugs because it helps limit the amount of kicks needed at a time. But no, I’ve never done it on wild vortex, or have been asked to, but VP is also my least run dungeon so take that with a grain of salt. Hope that helps!

I take it back, I just did it in a 24. It just cuts down kicks on those nasty wind bolts, which allows the tank to pull the first pack past the bridge easily

Hi, which one is better for the raid? Holy or dis?
Short answer is that they each fill different roles within a healing team, holy has been performing overall better the past two tiers, and we’ll have to see in 10.2 but disc is looking very strong.
Long answer is that Holy is more of a coverage healer, meaning that it provides consistent healing throughout the fight along with having two very strong 3-4 minute healing cooldowns in Divine Hymn and Salv. Disc is more of a Damage Reduction healer, and is brought for Barrier as well as strong burst healing every 1.5 minutes (or around 45 seconds if cooldowns are split). Outside of these cooldowns, disc provides very little healing, so it is strong on fight profiles where damage is condensed into plannable small windows, whereas Holy is more flexible on fights with consistent damage or fights that need unpredictable reactive healing.
That all being said, if you are the only priest healer, you can play whichever fits best with your healing team, or the one you enjoy, or the one that is performing better with tuning in the meta. My team has 2 healing priests, and we’re not sure if we are stacking disc or doing one of each spec yet

So ,when do you decide to play holy and when disc in keys?
That’s the nice thing about priest, I just swap when I’m getting tired. Or to push my IO up on both. Disc is usually more meta for the highest keys because of the damage reduction that helps you survive the big hits, PS for the tank, and passive damage even you are needing to crank heals. But unless you are pushing within the top 1%, holy will be just fine too

Watching this because I just got annihilated on first boss in brakenhide +18 as lightweaver
I feel your pain man. Give the MW build a shot, I find it worlds easier for things like that boss. My experience is that LW can fall behind on quick group heal checks like that, and the burst healing potential of MW makes a huge difference to get them past that “grievous” threshold.
Just tried it out, knocked out +18 brackenhide with little trouble.
