Man! I have wanted to Disc for years but could never picture in my mind how ramp/dam/etc worked in concert with themselves. This timeline view is a GAMECHANGER i had no idea that was a thing. 🤠🤠 Its 100000% going to give me the confidence to jump in. 🤓
It’s so weird going from squid priest build to non squid!! Definitely willing to trade in my damage for better heals. We’ll see how this goes for me in m+ 😅

Is there a world where Disc can perform decently enough with more just mini-ramp, or straight up weaving between healing and damage? Specifically, do you have any ideas for talents to take that would help enable that? I don't intend on doing Mythic raiding, I would just like to be able to perform well enough in Normal/Heroic while enjoying the playstyle.
I would love to play disc priest again this season. However, not having an interrupt is so bad in pugs or when your friends dont interrupt. For this i will be switching to paladin for al 3 specs. Bye disc 😭
Quick question: I see in your talent tree, on the main tree, that you selected "Halo" for the M+ build. But isn't this a raid talent ? I thought the radius was way too big to be used in dungeons (making wild pulls and everything) making Divine Star a much better choice ? (My query is not rethorical, I'm really wondering if there hasn't been a change I was not aware of). FollowUp question: In the spec tree, I see "Borrowed Time" is not picked. Hi, allow me to answer some based on my personal experience. The Halo in M+ is a welcome AoE spot heal for us Disc in high keys combined with VE, especially in bosses where there is too much AoE tick and our party group is spread too wide (like AV boss 2). For wild pulls, I never had wild pulls because of Halo, as long you know the route you are going with your party, mind the positioning but don't pay too much attention to the skill animation. For the Borrowed Time, IMHO when you reach around 5k Haste, it would already be in diminishing return Haste point, its better to spent 2 SP to other talent like Blaze of Light, because our rotation Penance and Dark Reprimand and 15% increase damage of the Penance, would translate better in DPS.
I take the points out of light's wrath and toss those points into mindbender for raids. Works just fine. Originally I started doing that due to the extra mana needed but with the new tier I'll test out the light's wrath build. Still probably going to favor that raiding mindbender build though because it feel more forgiving and more fun.
Yea unfortunately raid bender isn't the big sauce. Like I said in the video you could run a more shield-focused build and that should be more forgiving. I have a string in my written guides under talent pages if you wanna give it a shot and if it gets good traction with this raid tier then I'll make a video on it.
I want to learn disc but it is very intimidating. I’m an exceptionally good Holy player so I’ve been putting it off but going for CE again this tier it being good I feel like I need to. Any words of wisdom Jak?
I have been looking at disc priest as another healer getting up and ready, if the raid need it! But damn! Does they have so many abilities to click and cast out, where other healers doesnt :D

why schism before shadow covenant? schism is shadow damage and the buff only lasts 9 seconds so intuitively it seems like it should be used right after shadow covenant
Only so many spells you can fit into the scov window. Better to miss that spell and add others like mind blasts. Esp when you need to fit in a lengthy LW cast after the schism
How do you deal with all the movement required on things like tangling? And also how do you deal with high burst phases where you cannot hit mobs or a boss (Tantrum second boss in Underrot for example).

How do we handle unpredictable, aka DPS stood in bad, damage profiles? I usually find I do perfectly fine with normal mechanics but panic always ensues when you get those DPS that act as if they are too good for mechanics? Much love.
In keys radiance is your friend and is crazy powerful this patch with tier. You can even weave in flash heals or shield/rapture if you really need to focus on me person without using radiance charges. In raid, I’d drop a FH and also hope other healers are helping too. You can’t do too much to spot heal/triage in raids
Hi, do you have or could you recommend any disc priest guides where an mplus run is commented on the run by explaining which abilities are being used etc.. I am a long term resto druid player and tried already a few times to get into disc healing, but simply cant get into it nor find any really structured guides how to properly heal as a disc priest... I mostly end up with trying to use heals on single party members or spread around renews (which I know isnt the right way to play this spec)... especially during high damage situations on the party I end up panicking feeling like I dont have any "oh shit" solutions available... happens on holy as well sometimes during heavy aoe. Its hard to forget the resto druid hot spreading mindset while always keeping the big healing CDs like Flourish, Convoke, tranq etc. ready for things went wrong situations or simply for large aoe healing phases during specific boss fights. As a priest in mplus I kinda feel helpless on both specs and searching for some hint/advice how to use the spec properly. (on my druid I am already doing 20s timed, on priest I am staying really below 10s feeling I dont really understand the class enough).
@@AutomaticJak you are explaining everything very well, yet in a dungeon environment where you comment on real trash packs/boss what you are doing and why, on what to focus etc. would be much more helpful for a total disc priest newbie... lets say 1st big pull in BH, tank runs in gathers 3 trash packs, pulls them down to the cage... what should a disc priest do to keep the situation under control easily...1st dots on the trash, or 1st atonements then dots, in which order is it better.. or at the 1st boss, fight starts crazy, several people get a bleed dot, how to overheal the dot while doing aoe healing on the group... I meant something like this
I looove Disc in dungeons but the raid ramp mentality I just can't. I find the rigid optimal spell order to be boring (I have bad memories of Kaelthas in Nathria as a MW) and honestly outside of MM this type of gameplay leads to so much overheal it's just frustrating. I wish the designers could find a compromise to make Disc as fun and effective in all difficulty settings. I think that current Mistweaver is getting there but Disc is getting more and more rigid. I don't even mind Twilight Equilibrium headaches in dungeons but the ramp in raid ... man is it frustrating.
Probably because its so absorb heavy. Did 8/9hc yesterday and most of the fights we were all 40%+ overheal so a more absorb heavy build would be stronger than one focusing on more raw atonement output. If the trend continues on the mythic encounters with higher damage then, just like I said in this video, I'll make another video talking about the more shield heavy build
More likely you can do without it, esp if the more shield focused build takes off. Did heroic today and most of my fights were like 40+% Overheal so kinda tough to judge healing off that. Hope mythic pumps harder but yeah I’ll make another video as talent updates come in if there’s substantial changes and alterations people should make

I try priest every time, only to settle on some other healer that can do more HPS/DPS with a far simpler rotation. I'm a simpleton and can't grasp why they make DISC so complicated to be competitive, and holy so simple that it can't be competitive.

Not sure why ppl say that tbh. You can check on Lorggs and just like in the video almost every disc uses them together
In 10.0 it makes sense since the % diff is so minimal, but in 10.1 splitting rapture with the extended radiance looks juicy if the timers make sense.

so this m+ build is for when you have a 4 piece set right? so do you reckon keeping squid untill you have 4 set?
You can run it right away! Squid still viable and all just not as strong of healing particularly for those steady damage boss fights
