Excellent initiative.. When I told my doctor Vinita Kaul (Fortis, Anandapur, Kolkata) that we don't want to have unnecessary caesarean, her reply was astonishing. She told that "No doctor will be available for 24 hr at hospital. If you opt for Bhagirathi Neotia, then it will be convenient for me for normal delivery." This Bhagirathi Neotia charges around 1.5 to 2 lakh for child birth whether natural or caesarean. I stopped consulting that arrogant money minded doctor from then and switched to Sishu Mangal Hospital, Kolkata. This hospital is run by Ramkrishna Mission Seva Pratishthan, a NGO and it has a record of most normal child birth in Kolkata.
Private hospitals in Kolkata are nothing but premium butcher shops! All they think about is money. I have even seen that for the same test under the same sets of conditions, the Kolkata branch of Apollo was charging 2-4 times more than its Chennai branch. It's menacing!!
In a country where citizens live selfish lives, who cannot see beyond their own pain. Where society is so fragmented over petty reasons. Where everybody cheats everybody and everyone calls everyone “cheater”. Where we’re taught to only think about ourselves, because we’re all competitors. In such country, people can’t see beyond their own sufferings, thus everyone suffers and nobody cares. We vote with hatred in our minds, not public healthcare or education. Hence, Indians spend less than 2% of their budget into healthcare. “Caesarean section rate is less than 14% in government hospitals” which are driven by PEOPLE’s money and not corporate profit making mindset. There’s no incentive to do C-section and it’s done only when it’s needed. But we won’t improve our healthcare. Instead, we’ll continue to blame the privatised system which too is the devil of our own making. “In democracy, government is of the people, by the people, for the people. But the people are retarded.” - Osho
My sister is a gynaecologist.. M.S. OBG from top Indian govt medical college.. she brought down c Section rates wherever she worked.. But patients don't want to bear the pain.. they request for c section.. And don't listen to doctor.. patients also have fear psychosis .. my sister has done just around 500 cesareans but more than 10,000 normal Deliveries.. even did normal Delivery for Ladies who have undergone cesarean .. I'm really proud of her.. ❤❤
I know it's kinda inappropriate to ask this question online bue heck I'm scared of pregnancy and only want a genuine doctor to handle it when the time comes so can you tell me which hospital? I mean I'm not planning on being pregnant any sooner but if I would I'd like someone knowledgeable and a more humane doctor
As someone who had to undergo an emergency c-section, watching this is leading me to believe that this is purely an issue because of the incompetence of the doctors and not the procedure itself.
I would agree, as a geriatric mother with a breech baby who required a cesarean as well. I was fortunate that my medical team was well-skilled: I recovered quickly with minimal pain, and my scar is very small. Perhaps not optimal, but it seems the staff makes all of the difference with outcomes.
@@sidology1.0 or maybe we’re saying this because it’s an actual issue that needs to be looked into ? The healthcare system on a global scale is absolutely incompetent especially after covid. I went to the hospital recently and NONE of the nurses there were able to preform a simple blood test….. overpopulation and not enough properly trained healthcare workers is the main reason people are having extremely bad outcomes in hospitals. You can’t just pretend like it’s not an issue just because more people are “throwing these accusations around” 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ They’re not only accusations, they’re real personal accounts that patients have experienced.. don’t be so ignorant and stupid.
This topic touched me in a deeper level. I live in Netherlands and was blesses with a baby this month. The baby was around 3.5 kg. This was our first baby so we were not sure what is the procedure of child birth in NL. Few months before the delivery we had an intake with doctor. The doctor CATEGORICALLY declined C-Section as an options. Here is what she said " we doctors in NL pledge to never harm our patients. A C-section means cutting 7 layers of human tissue. This procedure will actively harm the mother and baby. We will not perform this operation until either mother or baby are actively in danger " My wife was very afraid of a natural delivery. She is very soft person, because of that I was also not sure if she could do it. She was in labour for 8+ hrs. The doctors the nurses were cheering her all the way. Our baby was born naturally. One more very important thing about this procedure was the nurse and doctors asked for her "consent" for everything they do to her. In parallel in India my relative was also pregnant. Her child was around 2.8kg. she is way more stronger. She tried for a natural birth. But only after 2 hrs of trying doctors pushed for C-Section. She was almost done but they still insisted for C-Section. They tried all the fear tactics and finally her husband said yes for C-Section. I have no doubt about the talent of doctors in india. They are the best of best. But I highly dought their ethics. I cannot trust a single word that they say. And I don't believe that the decision they take is for my best interest.
Read about iv saline, iatrogenic, osmotic demylination syndrome, deaths due to so called medical errors each year, iv antibiotics and organ failure, save yourself and people you love . They killed someone i love and my only support.
You are correct, Indian doctors are good but they have to go abroad to practice without being forced to be glorified salesmen trying to sell you procedures and medicines that you simply don't need. As you say, they seem to abandon all ethics when they work in India, unfortunately. I've personally had bad experiences in India, the doctors were simply untrustworthy. This is a shame as India needs good, reliable, trustworthy, and ethical doctors.
My aunt is a gynae and she worked in this private hospital. One day a patient came her family was financially weak and the child was abnormal like he won't survive long. Looking at their condition my aunt just gave few injection and made her go normal delivery and because of this incident my aunt was humiliated by hospital authorities. And it was that bad that she left that hospital where she worked for years. Right now she is running her own clinic.
Plz also mention if this bad treatment was from PRIVATE HOSPITALS or Government Hospitals. The western media only knows to show the worst parts of India without doing research if the numbers of C sections are high in Private hospitals or Govt Hospitals. In private they hire doctors so that they could earn money but in govt hospitals it's the govt appointment where in its tax money that's paying for their salary.
Are you saying that bc they were not able to pay for a c section your aunt turned them away, even though they needed it for the health of the baby? I’m not sure if you are trying to say your aunt didn’t do the right thing or whether it was the work place she worked at gave her a hard time for not forcing a c section. It sounds like the baby should have been delivered as an emergency c section
@@TTTTP84 the baby was having a health condition and wouldn't have survived even 24 hrs after birth. I delivered both my kids in Germany, during my 1st baby, I was in Labor for 37 hours, but the midwives n doctors here said it is normal. We wait, we observe, & will not go for c sec unless there's any problem with mother or baby. They motivated us a lot, no scaring, no panicking just helped us in every way they could, I used to hear only these sentences, "this is normal", "drink water", "keep walking", "we are here". I am blessed to be in Germany and not in India....I started my daily routine, bicycling etc just after 40 days. I feel so fit and healthy...
We have some wonderful hospital in India as well , who stress on Normal Delivery. We had such a wonderful experience with Sitaram Bharti Institute at Delhi in 2018....my wife was in labour for 12 hours until that moment of Pure bliss arrived 😊
Respect our doctors in India but the issue is the couple should do rigorous research and get the knowledge and find hospitals or NGOs where the number of natural births are delivered near your area or in your city. Not all the hospitals and doctors are bad. So I'm telling you the family and the couple require attention and be aware of what is gonna happen and tension in the middle class in India you all are aware of. Let's learn and spread the knowledge and change our society Once again I'm not a doctor nor a married man. So thanks for sharing such a video now I will have to look into the area where I will face this kinda situation Hopefully people specially in India I would say the youth see this nothing wrong whether you are man or woman this is your future your child and progression. In China, its the opposite. I had 48 hours of labor and they still didn’t agree to do a c section. Now I thank their decision. The pain was worth it. My body feels almost same as it was before birth

Words from a doctor: 1. Choose your doctor wisely. 2. Dont hesitate to ask as many questions as you want to till you are satisfied because a good doctor will always answer you about every pro and con. 3. Trust your doctor.
Trusting a doctor is difficult decision, They are there to make profit and this is basic human nature. They became doctor to earn money and they will always choose those procedures which are economically beneficial for them.
@@vaibhavsingh4200 your defence is know as splitting. Ubelieve either black or white. No, believe me doctors really want a personal life they can do whateverbthey can to spend some time with family, ordering unnecessary tests and procedures are unnecessary but no body wants to talk about facts how helpful they are actually? Some cancers cannot be seen like how big or extent or spread on mere xray or usg uneed to expensive invg like mri or pet scan for them . I went through something similar..myself and baby were healthy but still ended up in a c-section because the doctor was late and the assistant doctor and nurses couldn’t help in delivery without doctor..a very bizarre situation to think off..I am sure nurses and RMO should be able to handle a normal case in absence of a doctor but they refused..childbirth has become a profit making engine for the hospitals for sure. I am happy this topic has come to light
This is such an important topic to bring awareness upon . As a 24 y o woman , it scares me to think about the pain other women went through by the medical professionals whom we trust completely during such vulnerable moments . Government should take action upon this so that it doesn't happen to other women , thankyou for spreading awareness .
I delivered a baby in europe last year at age 40, the doctor categorically denied a c section stating that it will only be done in the event of an emergency. The doctor explained to me how vaginal birth is then safest form of delivery. The doctor a Belgian lady also told me how in countries like India and South America doctors push women for c sections to make money. I had a very easy labour and delivery, my cousin ten years younger than me had a c section in India and no real reason for it
I'm fortunate that I have done enough research before registering my name in the hospital. Although, its a government hospital .. almost 3 doctors changed during my labor pains till delivery. It almost took 24 hours.. I am grateful to all those doctors. Hatsoff to their patience!!
I had an emergency c section for my daughter. I can say that they are harder to recover from than natural. Anyone who thinks it's an easy option, it's not. I had to have mine because my daughter was in distress. I was only 37 weeks along and was getting sicker by the day. Her heartbeat kept dropping. I'm thankful for the operation, but I wouldn't recommend it unless necessary.
@SE Immagine the risks when they cut your belly and uterus and have to saw it all. A friend of mine was sewes up inappropriately so the uterus was sewed up with other tissues, so having sex was so painful that she needed to get cut up and resewed again!
@Marcin No, he's not trolling. It's rare, but sometimes when they stich you up in the vaginal area, excessive scarring can occure and be cause of pain when having sex, but it's not that common. I never met anyone personally in my friend and family circle that had it, but it may occure in rare cases.
@@SE-hh4vx natural birth is something womens bodies are equipped to deal with , if there are complications its case by case but natural birth on a helathy woman and baby will always be safer than unnecessary c section, this is not to be discussed it is a statistics backed fact
My heart goes out to the husband that lost his wife and child. It should not have happened. Money hungry Dr.s are the cause of such high rates of C sections.
Huge respect for raising awareness on this issue. We too faced a similar situation. Despite the doctor advising an immediate c-section due to low amniotic fluid and the baby's position, we waited 24 hours in hopes of a natural delivery. However, we eventually opted for a c-section for safety. It was later revealed in the report that our baby had the umbilical cord around the neck, something the doctor hadn't communicated with us. While registering our baby's birth to discover that out of 50 deliveries in that private hospital, only 3 were natural. It's concerning how some private hospitals seem to have a bias towards c-sections for money greed. Making decisions during such times is incredibly challenging.
6 years back when me and my wife were expecting our first child , this was my biggest nightmare.... thanks to Sitaram Bharti Institute at Delhi , who holded our hands and helped us walk through natural birth delivery 😊 Everyone in Gynaecology department is there to support the pregnant women by normal Delivery.
Here in Arunachal pradesh, a state on the northeast side of India, almost 90% of women are subjected to C-sections here. Due to fear, lack of knowledge, and continued pressure from doctors, many women’s go through cesarean. Many women's are dying here while giving birth, so after watching this video, i understand what the exact reasons behind C-sections. India needs to provide a perfect solution for this problem.
Unfortunately, this is the exact same case in Sri Lanka as well. My partner was such a victim!! :( They manipulate women to go for C-section. As naive young parents, we feared for our unborn's life!! Later, my partner developed many complications, including endometriosis, and a few surgeries!! I never wish any woman, mother, sister, or daughter to be in such bad condition because of the malpractices of these so-called professionals.
@medankihead sorry to hear about your status! We found nowhere stated, or medically proven that it's not a possibility. We are living evidence that we faced this issue and we can prove this with medical evidence to you. please for god sake educate yourself too!
@@ranganaMIT Lots of people have endometriosis. It is not due to C section! Lots of people undergo c sections and only very few of them have endometriosis! The endometriosis trouble will stop after menopause. Sorry to hear about your trouble, hope you have got good enough treatment for the pain.
That's what I just thought! I'm watching this and I'm from Sri Lanka and it made me think, the C-section birth rate in our country is incredibly high! I bet it's higher than India. Our doctors are greedy for money and lie to the parents and promote C-sections over natural births. This is terrible. P.S I'm sorry about you partner's difficulties. however i don't think it cause the endometriosis.
In Guwahati, Assam as far as I know, the C-section rate in private hospitals is 100 %. We tried telling our doctor throughout the pregnancy that we are planning a normal birth which he agreed to until the day of the delivery. Some other doctor came, did some tests and told us that the heartbeat of the baby isnt regular so we have to go for c-section. I could tell it was bullshit but I couldnt disagree coz I assumed she knew more and what if she was really telling the truth. We had a perfectlly normal pregnancy; no complications whatsoever. Later when I asked the ward boy, security guys in the delivery section, they said that they never saw a normal delivery happening in the hospital. We had the procedure done in Apollo Hospital, Guwahati but from what I hear, its the same everywhere. All my friends who had a child in recent years were all delivered through C-section. Even my friend who is a doctor suggested that C-section is safer.
This has become a norm these days as if women are incapable of natural delivery. In the long run it will be detrimental to natural evolution and cycle.
Same thing happened for my sister in Pratiksha hospital. Initially they said it will be normal delivery but on the day of delivery they switched to c-section without telling us why?
Share this with the link of this video please Nationally, *C-sections* comprised *5.5%* of all deliveries in *1970* , but rose steadily to *47.4%* babies born in private sector hospitals via C-section, far above 14.3% in govt facilities hospitals in india. This video needs to go viral in India and save the health of mums and babies from greedy doctors. Instead, spend a little more time n money to educate yourself on the risks of C-sections and benefits of natural births. The babies born through the mother birth canal comes into lots of good bacteria and flora that helps the babys immune and digestive system. It also helps mum and baby from post operation trauma from underlying weakness.
I understood the whole scam/ lack of expertise in my 34th week of pregnancy and took the bold step to travel down to Hyderabad by car from Nagpur just to have a natural birth at Rainbow Hospital. Even if someone has a c section, they should be at peace knowing that they were not cheated, because it causes long term birth trauma. We have the right to choose our doctor cause it’s our body. Take a well informed decision!
It happened with my neighbor but things changed in a good way. The doctors were saying she has to go through c section but she got excessive labor pain and when she went to the hospital the doc who has to do an operation was busy so then they had a normal delivery. That day I realized what kind of disgraceful doctors they are.
There is a place in Kerala calld Birth Village, it's a holistic birth centre run by trained midwifes and medical personnel. They ensure that vaginal births are safely conducted even for mom's who've had a prior csection 😊. Its a beautiful place. I stand corrected with specific details of the staff.. I've had a work colleague who had a successful vaginal delivery despite her hvg had a c-section prior to this.. hope this helps
This video sheds much-needed light on a critical issue that often goes unnoticed in our society. The rising rates of C-sections in India are a cause for concern, and this video does an excellent job of raising awareness and sparking a meaningful conversation. It's crucial for us to understand the factors contributing to this epidemic and work towards ensuring safe and informed birthing choices for all mothers. Kudos to the creators for addressing such an important topic and promoting maternal health and well-being in India! 👏🤰
This is a major issue in the U.S. I hope more people become aware of this and we see change, we need to bring back experienced midwives and give mothers the right to decided what they want with their pregnancy.
I am a proud Indian but I am ashamed to admit that I am grateful for having 1 miscarriage and 2 deliveries done in the US. My 1st pregnancy was only 7 weeks long. Then the heartbeat of the fetus stopped. I cried for so long, being away from family and my 1st pregnancy was so hard. My doctor said now you just wait until your period comes. Your body will figure out that something foreign is inside and naturally remove it. Everyone from India said that I need to have fetus removed surgically. Because that's what they do in India. Then my 1st delivery had all the reasons they give in India for emergency C-section. My water broke at 4 in the morning and I delivered my son at 10 at night. No one mentioned C-section until the end when the doctor is required to mention it. The cord was wrapped around my baby's neck. My baby was moving very slowly so in the end they used the suction but no C-section.
Both pregnancies, ages 27 and 35, first at a public hospital 🇿🇦, second time with a gynae at a private hospital, I was told I would have to have a Csection. I gave birth naturally to both my babies, without forceps. No complications, both my kids were fine. Doctors cannot be trusted, sadly.
I gave birth in Canada. Due to preeclampsia, I was induced at 38 weeks. Was in labour for 48 hours without pain control, then opted for an epidural and two hours later my blood pressure spiked and my son’s heart rate plummeted. I was encouraged every step of the way to deliver vaginally until it became a real risk to him. Three minutes later I had a healthy 7 lb 8 oz baby with perfect apgars and my blood pressure came down so dramatically, I lost 30 lbs in swelling in two days. My hands and feet were wrinkled from the loss of fluid I built up. My caesarean was necessary, well-performed, followed up with the best of care (I was readmitted a week later, but I have a bleeding disorder, so that was to blame, not the care I was provided) and until it was 100% necessary, I was not rushed or pushed into anything. I was so fortunate. These stories and rates of up to 96% c-sections scare me. Regulation is necessary here.
Are you funding them with your father's money to work charitably? Who will cover operating costs and pay staff salaries? It's easy to throw stones without having a clue how the system works.

This need to go viral. People trust doctors so that their condition is assured to get a best possible outcome. C-sections must be avoided unless until indicated
This is a excellent initiative. I was wondering for a long time why nobody is talking about it. Many more sequels are needed to this episode. Even uterus removals have become endemic. I see it everywhere.
Oh god i’ve been having this discussion alot lately. Women’s body is designed to give birth. These unnecessary c-sections are soooo wrong. Hospitals are preying on family’s fears.

I'm an Indian woman. And I'm so lucky that my doctor who took care of my pregnancy was someone who vouched for natural birthing. The baby was a week late, she still didn't induce me. Only after i broke my water did she consent with me and expedite my labour time. This is Dr.Vijaya Sherbet, Hebbal.
Finally finally this topic is brought up... Thank you so much. This is must and should be required to discuss topic and there should be some regulations put on this. Everyone I know delivered through the c section. I barely hear normal delivery nowadays... Idk if people are not willing or doctors are forcing, but normal delivery has become rare and the c section has become the main route of child birth.
This is sadly not just in India :( inducement and c sections have become so normal in Australia and the U.S. I am due in 2 weeks and plan to go naturally and allow my endorphins and hormones to act as natural pain relief. My body is not a lemon! It was made to birth children and I am proud of that.
Unfortunately sometimes we do need surgeries and medication. However, the norm shouldn't be to jump to c sections in healthy women during pregnancy and labour. There needs to be a better balance as can be seen from this video. And I intend to try and be as natural as possible because women's bodies are actually designed to birth children. That is my decision. If I need an emergency medication or surgery for my baby then of course I would consider it. But c section and inducement are my final options...not part of my first.

Not sure if anyone else in the comment section has mentioned this , but there was a Kollywood movie released in 2017 involving this same topic as the main issue. It's called Mersal (and it starred a really successful actor so it was super popular back then) and one of the protoganists in a victim to an unnecessary c-section . I'm not sure if the movie really raised social awareness since it also talked about other medical malpractices but it really opened my eyes to medicine in India.
Episiotomy which has become a standard procedure for vaginal delivery in India also needs to be spoken about. In most cases natural tearing is enough for baby to come out. But the cut is made no matter if it necessary or not.
Sometimes, the natural tearing may cause too much damage. Episiotomy is a controlled procedure so that major structures are not damaged, though, I agree, it is not a standard procedure.
Latest guidelines states that routine episotomy is NOT indicated. Only in certain cases involving assisted manoeuvres and increased duration of second stage labour with large head etc require mediolateral episotomy
😂 natural tearing it seems. Do you even know what episiotomy is? Do you know the stages of wound healing? Or scar formation? Or sphincter tear?? ... Natural tear it seems 😂😂

I had a c section in Australia from medical negligence. I had an epidural. I fell asleep, they were meant to put me under observation for 30 mins before giving the hormone to keep labour going. No one came in for 8 hours until I woke up and started panicking and they all rushed in. My mother was supposed to be my support but she is medically illiterate and couldn’t understand that it was a medical emergency and never attempted to get any help believing I needed sleep. It was very traumatic. I’m still devastated.
If your medical team or staff are very neglecting then it’s a horrific experience either way no matter if it’s a natural delivery or C section. The amount of traumatizing birth stories I’ve heard from both sides is just insane to be honest. Society always glamorizes the concept of conceiving and childbirth, yet will neglect the mother way too many times.

@@fsu5555 Clever people choose doctors who practice in one or maximum two hospitals for pregnancy who does normal delivery and don't go to hospital unless they have so much labor pain that they think there's no other option to go to hospital.A person I know did this and she and her baby were perfectly fine(went to hospital after 14 hours of labor and then doctor there too was supportive for normal delivery). That being said she had conceived naturally,no complications whatsoever. And this in India.
I had 2 normal deliveries in India so did my sister. We gave birth in army hospitals where there is a fixed salary for physicians. There is no extra compensation for doing CS.
I am another victim of this (from Kerala). This happened in a well renowned hospital for gynec and pediatrics, The Lifeline maternity hospital. I was induced at 38 weeks and finally they performed c section after suffering lots of pain for hours. Later I analysed that more than 70% of deliveries are c sections here. This is not only about this particular hospital, but with most of the private hospitals in Kerala.
The guy who lost both his wife and child must have gone through immense pain, It was visible from his expression. He is like a changed person. Such experience can alter ones life completely. Hope that no one has to go through such experience.
Yes in India, certain hospitals (most of them in fact) push unnecessarily for cesareans. It's often not the doctors' fault but the management of those hospitals who forces its doctors to reach a certain yearly turnover. Appalling. In Mumbai, I had found a fabulous gynecologist who resigned from one of those big hospitals for these same ethical reasons (she is now practicing in Dubai). But she told me about something really interesting though. She worked for some time in the UK. She was telling me that there, because of the pressure of the medical insurance, doctors can tell by experience in some cases that the mother's pelvis for ex. is much too narrow for the size of the baby and that an emergency cesarean will be ultimately needed, but they have to let the woman go through hours of exhausting natural labour until the emergency cesarean occurs as a matter of life or death, because the pelvic measurements and parameters accepted by the insurance to justify a cesarean were not fully met, only borderline. I have also had certain procedures done abroad (in Switzerland) without anesthetia (horribly painful, I am still traumatized). I told this to some doctors here in India who opened big eyes, wondering how the hell doctors in Switzerland could have done that to me without anesthetia. Again, insurance coverage issues. So to say that the other side of the world also has its issues. (From a Swiss living in India)
@@QueenGurmehar yes, not like a whole surgery, but like a colonoscopy for example, or like a lumbar puncture (spinal tap). These procedures can be somehow bearable for some, maybe many patients, but will give excruciating pain to many others too. Since some patients can bear these without too much "drama", these are considered as "non painful" procedures.
You won't believe how many women and men don't want so experience or witness the long hours of suffering ( even if it's a normal case) and just want a c-section instead.
@@Some_guy_passing_by that's very much there too yes. I forgot to mention this too. But if you look at it, these women can ask for a cesarean, because their doctors also accept a bit too happily to give it to them.
Extremely disturbing documentary. I cant imagine the sadness that young man had to face loosing both wife and baby for unnecessary c-section. The Govt needs to bring more awareness and stricter laws punishing doctors that do this for money. 😢😞
I had c sec in 2017 in kochi, Kerala. I got pain and reached hosp at night and nurses told not to walk and gave a medicine. In the morning, i got pain again and unnecessarily they induced pain at 9.15 am and suddenly they began prep for operation theatre and told me , my husband agreed for csec. They didnt give enough time for us to talk and showed me to my family for a minute and at 10.55am we got our baby. Wen i asked my husband why did he agreed for csec, he said dr told him baby is not moving down and i am not able to bear the pain. I didnt make any single noise out of pain that time. Now i had a successful VBAC in UK. Totally different system.
I thought c sections were only for emergencies. This is crazy If doctors did this here in the states, they would lose their license, the hospital would be sued and the doctor could even go to prison. This is just insane that they do this to women over in India.
The us is doing the right thing then. They deserve their license to be taken away. You are putting the woman's life in danger just because you want some bonus as a doctor. Horrible
I'm in the US and yes you feel robbed. Was told I should be induced and tried multiple rounds of medicine to induce then forced c-section. My baby was not ready to come. In the moment you feel like you can't know more than a Dr so you trust them. It's so sad.

This is extremely disturbing. As a foreigner in India I was warned that this is the case, but I didnt realise that it was THIS bad. I am currently pregnant and this has sent me into a complete spiral of anxiety.
Hi. If it helps, I had a completely opposite experience. My fluids were running low and my baby had gone into distress but the doctors still helped me deliver normally. I was happy to see my doctor in the video (Dr. Evita Fernandes). So, it varies from hospital to hospital. Believe me there are good doctors out there. All the best, stay positive 😊
Thank goodness, I am in the US, where I delivered my three babies naturally. Never a doctor suggested for cesarean. C-section is considered really the last option.
Oh my goodness, i couldn't stop crying because my gynecologist said C-section and natural birth were the same when i asked with my first pregnancy and i believed her, how could i not?
Been doing my own research for months now since I'm pregnant . I chose an all natural birthing centre with midwives because I know they will do all they possibly can to ensure a natural birth.
Completely heart touching video. After watching this video i felt betrayed too. Sadly, I was the victim of a c-section delivery in the year 2020 Arunachal Pradesh.
I’m a foreigner in India and have had 2 normal vaginal deliveries for my previous pregnancies. But recently I got pregnant whilst in India and even though I insisted on vaginal birth, at the last minute, when my water broke, my gynae declared that my baby was breeched (even though baby was in position with head down 3 days ago). I had to agree to C-section. Baby was delivered successfully but I’m in awful pain and slow recovery. My previous vaginal deliveries were so much better delivered in Singapore with faster recovery. Was the c-section unnecessary? I don’t know . Do I trust my gynae. I suppose I do trust my gynae and hope I wasn’t bluffed to have a surgery.
Women who are considering c-sections simply to avoid pain should please read about the advantages that natural births will give to their babies. This is why natural births are better for babies: 1. Vaginally born babies have more diversified microbiomes, less allergies, less risk of obesity, asthma, and diabetes in childhood and later. 2. Babies receive protective bacteria from the birth canal that helps build their immune system. Babies born via cesarean birth are more likely to pick up bacteria that is on skin. 3. Passing through the birth canal in a natural birth also helps shape the head and expel amniotic fluid from the lungs which lower baby’s risk for respiratory problems like asthma. 4. Anesthesia given to the mother crosses through the placenta and affects the baby just as it affects the mother. So c-section babies are affected by narcotic medications that leads to drowsiness, disorientation, and depression of heart rate and breathing. Studies have concluded that babies born to mothers who had an epidural during labor demonstrate more disorganized behavior in the early days and weeks, as well as a reduced ability to initiate and continue successful breastfeeding. 5. Yale researchers have found that natural birth triggers the production of the UCP2 protein in babies that boosts brain development. That means babies who had a natural birth may end up smarter. 6. Cesarean births are also linked to obesity and diabetes later in life.
Regarding 1. and 6., this is only true if you do not control for maternal health conditions in studies. For example, women with obesity are more likely to experience complications that require a c section. Children of parents who have obesity are more likely to be obese. This results in the correlation between obesity and c sections; if you exclude women with obesity in studies on c sections, the link between obesity in children and c sections disappears. I.e. the c section was not the cause of obesity. The same applies to many other conditions that are linked to c sections. Regarding 4., this is only true if the mother goes under general anaesthesia AND they don't get the baby out in a short space of time. Most of the time, the mother has an epidural and/or spinal block, which does not cross the placenta, and the link between epidural and adverse neonatal outcomes is very poorly supported. If the mother has to go under general anaesthesia, then they use drugs that do not cross the placenta, but if that's not an option, they simply perform the operation as quickly as they can - it takes several minutes for these drugs to cross the placenta, so working quickly can mean that the baby isn't affected. Its considered a rare complication when a baby is born floppy due to drugs after a c section.
Finally the open secret is out in media. Doctors here in India aren't questioned and not do the doctors explain to the patients and their attendants/accompanying family members.
I am an American who delivered my first son in India and I was terrified of the doctor trying to fear monger us into an unnecessary C section. We went to the largest, “best,” Western feeling hospital first, and the OBGYN suggested an abortion because our baby’s heartbeat couldn’t be found. I went to another OBGYN that ran a clinic from her own home, who assured us she did NOT do unnecessary interventions and immediately found our son’s heart beat… My sister in law took abortion pill at the advice of her OBGYN in Ahmedabad because the doctor couldn’t find the heartbeat. Babies are also being killed because of OBGYN’s saying such nonsense and women who trust them and fail to get a second opinion! My perfectly healthy son would have been killed if I listened to the first OBGYN!
My wife had a normal delivery because she was adamant even during labour...the resident doctors wanted c section while our visiting doc(uk trained) knew normal delivery was possible. Post delivery the hospital staff told me that over 90% women had c section
Thank you, thank you sooo much! So happy to see so many people supporting something which always felt very wrong to me!!!! Hope this changes so that future mothers and babies are safe.
The case with hypnobirth ending up in csec was somehow a one sided story i feel. If the mother was already 7cm, with a ruptured membrane, comes to the hospital to deliver, definitely a partogram was plotted at the get go. Unless she was delivering at home then no issues with tracking the target time of delivery. After listening to her saying from 9am to 3pm (6hours) she was only progressing from 7cm to 8cm, THIS IS AN INDICATION FOR A C-SEC! That is a poor progress or a secondary arrest labour, it is abnormal and no wonder it is hard for her to win the case in court. The labour is not progressing at a normal rate and something is definitely wrong somewhere. Even tho the heart monitor says baby is fine, but mind u the membrane is already ruptured and amniotic fluid has been draining out of the uterus all this while. A normal labour should progress at least 1cm per hour at the start of active phase. So many lack of vital info from the medical point of view. This is an emotionally driven documentary and is not fair at all. Take it with a grain of salt.
At least somebody knowing the facts.. really feeling bad to see such documentary against doctors. If the child doesn't do well after a compromised normal delivery due to their persistence for vaginal delivery then also the fault is doctor's and if the doctor wait for spontaneous pains and then something happens to baby the they will be like AAP pehle hi bol dete cesarean
@@Blue-lq8xf true if they are so much interested in no interference delivery then they should stay at home. This is one sided story.. ask as many obstetricians what kind o environment the patient and relatives create during labour and most of the times the patient herself insists on getting c section because she can bear pain. Like old times when women started getting pregnant by 15 years of age and then gave birth to so many kids were not bothered much for poor outcome of delivery but now when the pregnancy is so precious ( IVF/ late marrige/ one or two child policy) doctor also wants to give a healthy baby to the patient. No one knows how suddenly things go worse in vaginal delivery. Cases of cerebral palsy, autism, hypoxic brain injuries are so common. Old times the ladies used to do so much physics activity.. these days women are sedentary, no exercise.. no doubt their pelvis does not respond well

The whole process of childbirth, be it Normal Delivery or C-Section terrifies me. It breaks me to know that so many women end up going through it in their lifetime, and many even multiple times, This is one of the main reasons, I am going Childfree for life. Also, its sad to know how little our system actually cares about women and her health needs. Also, obstetric violence is real problem in India. A friend of mine, who went to a government hospital for internship, told me how poorly and rudely women in labor are treated in many indian govt. hospitals. Its sad. This needs to end and I wish artificial womb technology would have been a viable option asap.
Good choice that was something I wanted to do as well for the same reasons. Can tell you the one child I had it was the worst experience ending up with trauma. The doctor was wonderful but the C-section is scary the nurses are hell mean and child services lurks the whole hospital all day. Abusive environment you are forced to stay in for 3 days after a C-section.
I had a c-sec and it wasn't that bad. Only the first night in hospital was difficult. Not because the stitches pain. It's because you have to lie down continuously. My back was aching more than stitches. The painkillers get you through easily. The recovery is slow but not painful. You just feel that you don't have energy.
Artificial womb isn't a good choice either. Normal pregnancy and delivery is good for both mother and child. It creates a bond between both and keep both healthy
In Pakistan, the percentage of C-sections at private hospitals can easily be over 90%. I won't go anywhere. When I gave birth to my second child. I was told by a worker at the hospital that I was the only patient who had a normal birth that day. The rest 14 patients went through C-sections. That makes it 93%. This troubles me even today that I was spared because they were busy cutting others when I delivered. This is a horrendous crime. Here, it's a widespread belief that if you had a C-section earlier rest of the deliveries will be C-section deliveries. Period. And there is no argument and no way around it. Sever layers are cut and then normally they have a second baby within a year and then Voila, those seven healed or unhealed layers are stripped open una vez mas. From the very first visit to the gynecologist, she starts making up your mind for an operation. Creating risk for a mother who has a whole life ahead to rear her children and for the offspring, our next generation is put into the world with a much weaker immune system, generating more business for the pediatricians who are next-door neighbors to these bitches in the clinics.
Private hospitals have become so unregulated. It's time for the government to take matters into their hands.

Youre like the 100th comment over multiple social media platforms to say this, i 100% believe its just thrown around for no reason way too frequently
I would agree, as a geriatric mother with a breech baby who required a cesarean as well. I was fortunate that my medical team was well-skilled: I recovered quickly with minimal pain, and my scar is very small. Perhaps not optimal, but it seems the staff makes all of the difference with outcomes.
Not all cases are same some time c section are done to make paitent his or her life time client.
You can’t just pretend like it’s not an issue just because more people are “throwing these accusations around” 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
They’re not only accusations, they’re real personal accounts that patients have experienced.. don’t be so ignorant and stupid.
Big money drives them. No respect for these greedy obstetricians.
We will not perform this operation until either mother or baby are actively in danger "
My wife was very afraid of a natural delivery.
They truly lack ethics. Very greedy and manipulative.
A good doctor is also an ethical doctor. If the doctor is lacking in ethics, than I'm sorry to say but he is NOT a good doctor.

Where is her hospital or clinic...it will be helpful for many people
Are you saying that bc they were not able to pay for a c section your aunt turned them away, even though they needed it for the health of the baby?
I’m not sure if you are trying to say your aunt didn’t do the right thing or whether it was the work place she worked at gave her a hard time for not forcing a c section. It sounds like the baby should have been delivered as an emergency c section

I had a very easy labour and delivery, my cousin ten years younger than me had a c section in India and no real reason for it
This is such an eye opener. I’m not even pregnant but this is something that should be looked out for by everyone.
Well I have met many women not recovering quickly from natural birth and had to undergo reconstructive surgery to fix it.

@Marcin No, he's not trolling. It's rare, but sometimes when they stich you up in the vaginal area, excessive scarring can occure and be cause of pain when having sex, but it's not that common.

They manipulate women to go for C-section.
As naive young parents, we feared for our unborn's life!!

Yes, that's true. They won't do normal delivery anymore. I gave birth to my son who was 4.8 kg normally. Because I was determined normal delivery.
All over Assam all my relatives had c-section deliveries. They would lie about something or the other.
Same thing happened for my sister in Pratiksha hospital. Initially they said it will be normal delivery but on the day of delivery they switched to c-section without telling us why?

I understood the whole scam/ lack of expertise in my 34th week of pregnancy and took the bold step to travel down to Hyderabad by car from Nagpur just to have a natural birth at Rainbow Hospital. Even if someone has a c section, they should be at peace knowing that they were not cheated, because it causes long term birth trauma. We have the right to choose our doctor cause it’s our body.
Dr Anjali chabria clock is ticking
Which hospital and state?
Both pregnancies, ages 27 and 35, first at a public hospital 🇿🇦, second time with a gynae at a private hospital, I was told I would have to have a Csection. I gave birth naturally to both my babies, without forceps. No complications, both my kids were fine. Doctors cannot be trusted, sadly.

Everything about this documentary is true and narrated to perfection. That’s how doctors do it .

You say my body is made for it. Thats not true. We need all the type of sergeries and drugs to live.

Wonderful initiative. This should reach to every Indian woman who has gone through unnecessary C section.

It's surprising doctors would actually go through with procedures without anaesthesia even with insurance issues.

I was happy to see my doctor in the video (Dr. Evita Fernandes). So, it varies from hospital to hospital. Believe me there are good doctors out there. All the best, stay positive 😊
Please visit Birth Village in Kerala . You can search about them on Google .
Please do research how much ever you can. I hope the best for you good luck.
Thank you 😊
Thank goodness, I am in the US, where I delivered my three babies naturally. Never a doctor suggested for cesarean. C-section is considered really the last option.
Finally !someone has covered this issue. Thank you
This was so needed, I wished this information was available in the past. But never too late for women of the future.
Please release a hindi version of this video. This needs to be watched by every Indian.
Oh my goodness, i couldn't stop crying because my gynecologist said C-section and natural birth were the same when i asked with my first pregnancy and i believed her, how could i not?
Slap that b*tchy doctor and find a doctor you give your baby a natural birth.
Never just listen to the doctor blindly. Do your own research and ask questions.
Been doing my own research for months now since I'm pregnant . I chose an all natural birthing centre with midwives because I know they will do all they possibly can to ensure a natural birth.
@@refiloechokoe7077hi. Where are you based and which centre did you select?
@@rishabhrastogi506 I'm in Johannesburg, South Africa.
This is why natural births are better for babies:
My perfectly healthy son would have been killed if I listened to the first OBGYN!
foreigner here also. What Western feeling hospital did you go to first that suggested the abortion? Was this in Delhi?
My wife had a normal delivery because she was adamant even during labour...the resident doctors wanted c section while our visiting doc(uk trained) knew normal delivery was possible. Post delivery the hospital staff told me that over 90% women had c section
Thank you, thank you sooo much!
So happy to see so many people supporting something which always felt very wrong to me!!!! Hope this changes so that future mothers and babies are safe.
I can make you a future mother ….
The doctors wrongly pushing for cesareans should be barred from practicing medicine.
That lady should have stayed at home doing hypnobirth!! Such an ingrate..
Old times the ladies used to do so much physics activity.. these days women are sedentary, no exercise.. no doubt their pelvis does not respond well
Thank you for the facts.
Shoddy journalism on CNAs part.
@@ac22626 i was triggered because of the lack of vital info in the documentary. And public are easily swayed by controversial things like this, maybe not all but some do. My profs who taught me during my med school were from India. Absolutely amazing teachers and i still remember most of their teaching. So sad seeing this attempt to tarnish the good doctors from what i believe to be the country that produces a lot of good and great doctors. I guess some patients are just in denial and difficult. I do agree maybe from our side, we need to improve our communication skills when explaining things to patients, but sometimes u can do so much....still it wont go through like what u expected. All the best in your studies!
@@derekpam7149 that's bad. It is supposed to be helpful environment not traumatic!!
now imagine all the women who're still having in excess of 7 or 8 kids
Artificial womb isn't a good choice either. Normal pregnancy and delivery is good for both mother and child. It creates a bond between both and keep both healthy
I had 16 hours of labour in Singapore still no mention of c section
So true
agreed hundred percent ,
That's true.. The more women are into c section the more the next generation is being born with weaker immune system.
