  • Welcome to our in-depth exploration of the Wheel of Life, a powerful symbol in Buddhist philosophy that depicts the cycle of existence and the path to enlightenment. In this playlist, we delve into the profound teachings embedded within the Wheel of Life, unraveling its intricate symbolism and spiritual significance.
    Join us as we examine the various realms depicted on the Wheel, from the realms of gods and humans to the realms of animals, hungry ghosts, and hell beings. We'll explore the concept of karma and the forces that propel beings through the cycle of birth, death, and rebirth, shedding light on how our actions shape our destinies.
    Moreover, we'll delve into the central role of the Three Poisons-ignorance, attachment, and aversion-in perpetuating the cycle of samsara, and explore how the Noble Eightfold Path offers a way out of suffering and towards liberation.
    Whether you're new to Buddhist philosophy or a seasoned practitioner, our playlist offers valuable insights and teachings to deepen your understanding of the Wheel of Life and its relevance to our lives today. Join us on this enlightening journey as we uncover the timeless wisdom of the Wheel and its profound implications for personal transformation and spiritual awakening.

    Visited this centre in Kathmandu 10 days ago. The lady there provided a 5 minute explanation of Wheel of Life which was appealing and kindled interest. So searched on youtube for further information and found this nice more detailed presentation.

      No bro...Pig stands for ignorance cause no matter how good food, good place you give to it, it will end up sitting and eating the dirt, as for the snake it is anger, the anger makes people blind thus making us to hurt others whether beloved or hated ones as seen in snakes and, rooster stands for attachment cause roosters and other fowls always spend their time with their partner and keeps on finding more which is also a form of grasping.

      dear A H. Thank you. Sorry for late reply. You can place your thangka whereever you feel it is right. Do not hang it too low, but above your headlevel. Out of respect for Buddha's words.
      A light or flowers in front of it, would be nice. all the best, Sungrab Woeser

    Is this teaching from mahayana or hinayana buddhism?

    • @sungrableen6064
      @sungrableen6064 2 года назад

      Dear sir, madam,
      It is both a basic view in theravada and mahayana. Originally explained by buddha in the first turning of the wheel of dharma in Varanasi regarding causes of suffering, and liberation of suffering. In mahayana then evolved to compassion for all sentient beings in all realms of existence (bodhicitta mind). Best wishes, Sungrab Woeser

    He did not explain the outer circle of 12 dependent origin or karmic link

    • @sungrableen6064
      @sungrableen6064 5 лет назад +2

      Chador Gyeltshen that's right. Explanation of the outer circle of dependent origination was left out. Better later, in due time. And separate, in order to take time for all the implications of this essence of Buddha's teachings.
