I came to the conclusion that Vajrāyāna is indeed the most advanced form of Buddhism, but also the weirdest one. It combines elements of Bön, Mahāyāna Buddhism and Hinduism to create a complex method of achieving enlightenment. But let’s not get ourselves confused by the many schools of Buddhism. As long as you practise compassion, kindness, mindfulness and clear understanding of our inner nature, you are a Buddhist and you are on the path to enlightenment, or at least a peaceful long life.
I don't think that Hinduism talks about englightment,or I did not see in vedanta tradition that talks about englightment,In Geta the main goal is to get liberation from desire which caused cycle of birth into human realm,Here in Buddhism when we talk about englightment it is mean also awaking or not dwelling in liberation, Englightment is not dwelling samsara and Nirvana

As a practitioner of Vajrayana Buddhism for more than 20 years I have to say this is a very correct and extremely well-made and informative piece of video. It’s as good as I’ve seen on RUclips and I would recommend it for anyone seeking a basic grounding in the focus of the Vajrayāna teachings.
I want to ask you a question if you don't mind, can you communicate with local deities and other beings from the six realms? I understand if it is taboo to talk about it; you don't have to.

There are many great Buddhist teachers on RUclips who provide excellent information. It’s good to listen to many teachers and discern from what they say. And it’s good to do some google searching to see if they are well-regarded in the Buddhist community 😊
Very interesting and what I also found quite interesting is that bön means prayer in Swedish. Thankful for being able to take part of this knowledge and send much love to all of you 🙏🏻❤️
Please continue the series with explorations of more particular/narrower/more specific schools in other branches, like Pure Land, Thai Forest, and Zen.
Ask the universe to bring to you specifically what you intend to attain. For example after doing full body chakra (energy sphere / Merkaba) activation a few years ago, I thought and then I wrote the intention “I intend to know all there is to know about DNA activation” and now… I know things that my mind had not even fathomed before, and some of it was through a process of remembering what I had Mastered in previous lifetimes, and some things that are formed to accommodate the evolution of the collective now. 🙏🏼💫🫶🏼 The process… words don’t suffice but “miraculous” “Divine” “otherworldly”
@@loamysoil777 This channel has explored Zen pretty in-depth but I would love a deeper dive nonetheless, really exploring it. Pure Land was mentioned but not explored in as much detail. The Theravada video didn’t actually explain much about Theravadan schools at all, actually, instead making commentary mostly about Vipassana meditation. I felt a bit silly asking about Zen and Pure Land after re-watching the Mahayana video, but I still feel like deep dives would be useful. I’m glad you agree.
I’m very grateful for how this introduction into the vast traditions of Varjayana was presented in this video. Thank you! The use of the three quotes at the beginning really set the right stage for the right views and contexts within Varjayana. Also, the problematic tendency to view Varjayana in isolation was avoided by linking it (correctly) to the other vehicles of Mahayana and Shravakayana (Theravada). I think it is important to remember that although the Varjayana we see today have very strong connections with the Tibetan culture and tradition it did not originate in Tibet but was brought to Tibet by accomplished teachers from the Indian culture and traditions. Varjayana had been practiced for several centuries on the Indian subcontinent before its arrival in Tibet. It is perhaps necessary to remind ourselves about the three-step concepts of Ground-Path-Fruition so often used within Varjayana practice and understanding. The teachings on the Ground will and should always be the same; we are all endowed with the essence of enlightenment, Buddha Nature. The fruition is also always going to be the same for any practitioner of the Buddha Dharma; the actualization of Liberation and Buddhahood. What is going to be vastly different, down to the very level of the individual practitioner, is the Path concept, or the methods of practices used to actualize the Fruition. Here we must also keep in mind that the practice of understanding of the right view is not going to be different from one tradition to the next. But rather the techniques used to remove the obstacles and hindrances blocking the actualization to take place may vary greatly. Hence we see a vast array of different methods and teachings across the whole spectra of the Buddhist world. This is not because of a deficiency, or lack of precision, in the teachings themselves. But rather due to the different inclinations among the practitioners and also due to some cultural differences. It is also understood that normally a practitioner do develop and change along with his practice and do need to ‘upgrade’ his practice in order to reach new levels of understanding and realizations. Those are natural reasons for the existence of the variety of methods and practices we see in the world. As was mentioned in this video in connection with the presentation of Dzogpa Chenpo teachings the practitioner will eventually end up having perfected the abilities of effortlessly and spontaneously liberating all phenomena as they arise. Thus having traversed all stages and Bumis along the way of the path of practice towards the actualization of the True State, or Buddhahood.

I was totally blown and fascinated by the greatness of our Tibetan Buddhism and Buddha Dharma..... 😢😢🙏🪷☸️ Thanks to our great ancient Masters and kings who perserved the teachings of Nalanda.
Bon is still practiced in Tibet. When devotees circuambulate around mount Kailash, sometimes you will see people walking around counter clockwise. They are usually Bon, but I'm sure there are other tantric practices that also do this. The giant people of Tibet are either all bon or have bon ancestors. People will see them at night time around lake Manasarovar. A lot of them are around 8 feet tall. It is said that even to hear the name Vajra will guarantee you liberation within a certain amount of lifetimes. Beautiful video. From various comments there appears an incomplete ideas of the 3 existances. From the indescribable and innate dharmakaya, which we all touch upon even a little bit, we walk back. Upon effortless rest, at the border between the dharmakaya and the sambhogakaya, how one creates the other is noticed and cultivated in the most subtle of ways to create an instantaneous innately aware birth of form. Through intention and cultivated awareness without words, the potency of this absorption increases and next at the border between sambhogaya and nirmanakaya, the vajra body fueled by this eternal radiance, never lost, gradually makes the differnce between the subtle potency and its physicality a matter of perspective. The nectar cognition of softnees at the first descending boundary is the grace, the gift of great mother, the secret of creation, and not separate from the naunces of all the voices of creation. Thus, Vajrayana is the great marriage. In it we enter the root of every emotion, passion, and self nature, and expedience the universal purity of it. We developgreat definition and then absorb into it. The whole diety thing is a religious distortion, rather there is the body of the one. Composed of all those awakened within it as its light. The spiritual path becomes one of the relationships within the body of the one, of which our body embodies a mandala in that moment in time and space. It is very beautiful and eternal life beyond claims or vagueness.
I studied vajrayana years ago, while I was regularly attending a Zen temple. I ultimately get more benefits from Zen. It can help achieve spiritual knowledge, and is a very moral set of values. This is an excellent video, practice makes it work inside you.

Dzogchen is universal. Two examples. A podcast talking about a martial artists first time at a dojo. He was made to look into a mirror for an hour. He said it changed his life. He said 'you have to figure stuff out quick". An astronaut was on a space walk, they keep them busy for this reason, he had to wait for his task - floating in space - he said he felt the bliss of existence - was blessed with the opportunity to experience the moments alone in space. That is the perspective we must have to all aspects of life. Sati Sampajanna in Sanskrit. The eternal recurrence/Amor Fati. That is seeing into the true nature of being.
@@joelwarnaerts279 just story, nobody knows. Nobody's ever been in a closed environment under a firmament. We're just living on a ball of rock with a thin skin of air that some have been fortunate enough to see from a great distance.
More on the 3 kayas, each one represents a lot more than just what was covered: the dharmakaya aspect represents the emptiness of all phenomenon, as well as the empty nature of the mind. The sambhogakaya aspect then represents the cognizant quality of the mind which sees this emptiness, while the nirmanakaya represents the indivisible unity of both. Dzogchen teaches that mind is inherently open, empty and cognizant at all times, and samsara occurs due to forgetting this nature and being caught up in thought. One should remain as basis of the sky, with the nature of the mind being the vast openness of the sky and the radiance of the sun, which are indivisible from one another, and let clouds (mental formation) pass and stop obscuring this radiance. The way to do this is through Trekcho (cutting through), in which you recognize this empty cognizant quality, recognize the intrinisic nature of it and indivisibility, and simply rest as that basic state. Dont do anything to it, including think or analyse it. Then when you forget, simply recognize again. "When recognizing, leave it in naturalness. When forgetting, remind yourself." "Short moments, many times." - As It Is, Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche

Great video with lots of info, I appreciate it. But, I must say that one thing is wrong , the RIGHT HAND holds the vajra/dorje (masculine energy) and the LEFT HAND holds the bell (feminine energy). You can even see the picture of Padmasambhava's statues & see him holding the vajra with his right hand. Just bringing this up for people in case they want to practice sadhana rituals. Maaaaybe in very rare & specific instances with certain deities it could be reversed...
This is very important: people get excited when they see the word " esoteric" what that usually just means that the information comes from a highly realized master, a teacher if you can find one to work with you, and thus it means that the information will be passed not by reading writing somewhere but by listening to a master monk.
Thank you for such comprehensive knowledge. Can you please list down the background music that you have used in this video especially @13:00 thank you.
Vajrayana is the highest way of Buddhism, according to Vajrayana teachers. I had never heard of such a classification expressed by other Buddhist teachers and masters. From a practitioner's point of view, the best practices are those more effective for the particular practitioner. I have been practising all of them, and for me, the best way is the Zen path. All the best to all of you!🙂🙂
It's considered a higher teaching because it can lead to higher attainment, such as the rainbow body. Zen can't do that. The Rainbow body is enlightenment of the body as well. The Buddha spoke about it in the original teachings of the pali canon, he called it the Manomaya Kaya (mind made body). But he gave no teachings on how to achieve the mind made body, that is until Padmasambhava came along and taught Vajrayana.
@@gabrielr8642 Everybody is entitled to their beliefs, regardless if you find it funny or not. Christianity has teachings on the resurrection body, which is not much different to the rainbow body. Daoism also teaches this as well, it's not specific to just Vajrayana. There have been Daoist masters that have allegedly attained the rainbow body as well as many Vajrayana practitioners, the most recent was in 1999 I believe. Vajrayana works with energy, what they call lung or they call prana in Hinduism, qi in Daoism etc... zen meditation doesn't really work at the energetic level as much. Even though Shaolin does do qigong, it's more for healing and martial purposes such as the bone marrow and tendon changing classics, iron body etc....

Some things you may find helpful on your journey to liberation. 1) Understanding Condtional Genesis and Dependent Orgination. The mirror opposite is the solution and path to liberation. 2) The Louts Sutra or the Law of Innumerable Meanings-as there is beings and perspectives. 3) The Diamond Sutra - once you have realized there is no "self" as a person, place, thing or idea, you realize the Dharma is empty, as is the pure state and nature of mind. Abiding in the pure mind state of the present is all that is needed. What is the need of teachings of liberation, if there is no one to be liberated? The Dharma and Sutras are both a skillfull and expedient means to achieve enlightenment and the Dharma in Duality exists as both simultaneously needed and uneeded (i.e. until one learns and understands.). Vajarvana Buddhism is highest level Buddhism and it's very difficult to understand. See in my country Bhutan there are many lama or meditator who die in meditation without decaying or smelling. If Rainbow body is attained then the person body will not decay and we don't have burn nor burie the body. Government, monk and citizen will take care of it. 2; in this stage the person body remains like statue and undecayed forever without bad smell but it smell like flowers. No one is allowed to touch but only allowed to see. Some their body shrink into small size like statue and then it's kept in Dzongs. Again some they disappear into thin air but they leave some nail, sometimes hair. Nail and hair is persevered too. 3; in this stage person completely disappear in air leaving nothing and this is very hard stage. My grandpa die in meditation too and I have the photos if you want. A lot of the lore of Buddhism is described as being secret or is esoteric. These phrases usually indicate that the information in Tantra is secret and that it must be passed poorly to the deserving student from a highly realized master first decided the student deserves the information. Similarly the phrase esoteric often refers to the fact that the information is passed from lip to ear where's your course man's the master is judging the suitability of the student. This means that much of the bigger Roman teachings are not available by looking in a book or seeing information printed in English somewhere. However as Buddhism moves to the West and is taught widely in the West by individuals who are somewhat thankful to the people who have supplied their wherewithal and move to America..... Although I cannot say that specific secrets have been leaked, it is obvious in reading those Rana information that some of the material label secret has Ben communicated in some form. Shunyata is absolutely Emptiness and the translation is correct. Solid can occupy space, Solid can transverse through Space. But Solid cannot occupy Emptiness. I cant remember which one it is, but in 1100AD a japanese noble went to China to study it, as it was only taught by word of mouth. I find the nearly 1000 year difference between, new age thinking and the mebtioned sect of buddhism fascinating as theyre essentially the same thing. I never thought buddhism would teach people how to manifest. But thats added to the list now, Christianity, Judaism, and Buddhism. A strange connection between east and western philosophy as the east are in nowhere near as materialistic as we are in the west. Or atleast, not now.
Yeap, If Tibetans ancestors masters didn't preserve, protect, sacrifice thousands lives and flourish and spread to the world again. In India already disappeared long time ago.

The paintings and sculptures are very symbolic, and there are no lines or anything that doesn't have a meaning. Thanks for these videos. 🙏
Bon has nothing to do with Vajrayana Buddhism. It's Bon who got influenced by the Vajrayana.

Vajrayana works with energy, what they call lung or they call prana in Hinduism, qi in Daoism etc... zen meditation doesn't really work at the energetic level as much. It seems possibly you may have katagelasticism, which is a psychological disorder in which a person obtains pleasure from laughing at others.
This type of pleasure seeking serves only yourself and your own ego, it does nothing to help others or even yourself.
Vajra pride on the other hand is primordial self-esteem. It’s based on faith in our true nature and having the confidence to act from this recognition to help others.

why call raibow body?
@@Hanmoon850 Very true brother.
In Theravada and Mahayana Buddhism it's nearly impossible or its very rare to attain rainbow body.
If Rainbow body is attained then the person body will not decay and we don't have burn nor burie the body. There are three stages of rainbow body in vajarvana Buddhism.
1; In the stage the body is burn but after body is burned completely we find relics, like Buddha image in their tiny bone and then we persevere it in Dzongs.

Said some by the runner practices involve tantric activity there has been pressure on various experts to talk about the tantric practices that are sexual in nature. There may be some pressure to absolve bully Buddhism from crash sexual more.
/// regardless of reasons some of the five drama practices and lore have been revealed.
There remains the possibility that the secret and esoteric information passed from lip to ear will never be passed any other way. This of course means the advisor and the Buddhism cannot be passed to undesirable people like the president of China.

@@unseen3277 Does it matter? Enlightenment is not just about knowledge and mental intellect it is inclusive of compassion towards all beings.
Shakyamuni was against many things present in modern Buddhism.
@@porkcutlet3920 indeed
@@porkcutlet3920 it's not shakyamuni it's sakyamuni.
Beautifully explained. Thank you.
If we’re interested in dzogchen, we should find an authentic dzogchen master to learn from.
This is not something we can learn on our own… It has to be transmitted to our minds by a qualified lama.
Wow! This is so Complex
When the Mughal anthakvadi were burning nalanda etc, a lot of ancient Indian knowledge went to Tibet and to Japan as far as I can understand
Yes ..
It was actually the Brahmin consipracy that led the fall of buddhism and rise of Hindusim.
@@dreamadventure8220 LOL, no. That is Periyarist illiterate conjecture.
Don't know about Japan..... but Tibet for sure because Our most precious Guru Padmasambhava was invited to the Tibet in 749 A.D. He brought Buddhism to Tibet and many of our scholars went to study in Nalanda, Dzogchen Teachings.... etc. There're Buddhist Masters from India got invided for the teachings. All the Buddhist scriptures were translated in Tibetan..... So, thanks to our great ancient Masters who perserved the ancient Buddhist wisdom.
@@hobosapien7735 Nope it's a real truth and history which has been buried and twisted by Hindu historian to legitimige their existence.
Great fantastic video! Well done 👍
Just make sure not to practice anything you see online without guidance from someone whos mastered the practice 🙏🙏
Great explanation. Congratulation. Thank you. It is really good.

Sadhu sadhu sadhu 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you so much ❤☺️
You will also make videos on the various forms of Hinduism ?
Great video as always, thank you !
Buddhism started in Nepal, Buddha was born here... Did not spread to Nepal... Don't believe lies or else you will get lost in cosmos....
😂😂😂
Thanks for sharing. Would you be able to share the names of music that was being played in the background
People use Tibetan Buddhism and Vajrayana interchangeably, which really isn't accurate. Tibetan Buddhism is one part Vajrayana/Tantric and one part Mahayana. You really can't describe Tibetan Buddhism without talking about Emptiness, Bodhichitta and the 6 paramitas.
All knowledge is the same, but what does one get out of? is where the treasures are sought after, what tools are you using that will help guide you or make you prosper?

Tantric is NOT for everyone,my friend. Do more historical research.
@@vinnysing1324 Tantric practices is an irrelevant and relevant practice to reach the enlightened state, completely useless for the carnal body, they always speak of spirit mingling with the body but oil can't have peace with water? all they can do is dwell with each other, but everyone is different if it works for them it works and if it doesn't then it doesn't.
Moustache off Padmasambhava is actually air/pranayama/breathe/mastery of breathing.
The goatee symbolizes / represents the power of the WORD.
The furrowed brow represents power of the mind/focus/and power in general.
The wide open eyes represent Enlightenment and understanding.
Most translations of Vajrayanic terms have been made by scholars instead of firsthand practitioners initiated into the lineage, and hence crappy. Just as an example, chitta or citta is translated as mind where as it's different from what the current understanding of mind is in the west, consciousness or fundamental awareness would have been a better translation. Similarly, spaciousness would have been a better translation of Shunyata as compared to emptiness.
For a westerner, what’s the best way to learn the teachings?
@@TehSakred find an enlightened master belonging to the lineage whose teachings you most resonate with. It's the energetic transmissions which matter most.
Shunyata is absolutely Emptiness and the translation is correct. Solid can occupy space, Solid can transverse through Space. But Solid cannot occupy Emptiness.
Space is consistently considered as one of the 5 elements in all 3 schools of Buddhism. Mediations on reflection on the body in fact does ask one to meditate on the space element in the body - the cavities. Space or its Space nature is not interchangeable with Emptiness.
@@abhishekghosh4384 suggestions on where to start searching? I’m currently practicing Vaishnavism in a temple and am thinking of going elsewhere, but don’t know where to start. This resonates internally
@@TehSakred please check out the video in the second link I shared brother. She is a genuine master. I also know some others from different lineage, including one high level enlightened master of Vajrayana.
What Amazing introduction
"I see Buddhism as more a philosophy than a religion.
"
Buddhism started as a philosophy. Shakyamuni's teachings were distorted and turned into a tool used to make money.
I found about a sect of Buddhism yesterday that was very close to new age Christianity in that it taught people how to manifest their reality, and wanting material wealth was not shunned, and actually it taught people how to do it.
It would seem that back then, it was a different story.
