If I were shopping for them, more watching as an enthusiast here, I feel I'd pick the Sirui because it seems like they have plans to expand the line to more focal lengths. Personally I like Laowa lenses a lot, and the Meike Cine lenses look interesting too, the former being pricier and the latter not so much. It's great to see competition benefit the consumers, as prices get more and more accessible.
Yeah I think they’re adding a wide and a mid telephoto maybe an 80mm or something. We’re at the stage where we have so many good options and it’s amazing!
I got my set of Nightwalkers for my GH5/GH6 rigs. For the initial price, they are really good values and are useful for novice filmmakers or established filmmakers looking for an inhouse set for budget projects. The 24mm Nightwalker is the warmest out of the set. The CA on the Nightwalkers are poor until T4. Victor is correct, the focus gear needs to be better dampened. Precise control (by hand) is difficult. I would rate the Nightwalkers at their introductory price, a solid C+ (almost a B-). At their regular price, a C. My team and I will be using these on a budget short film project near the end of August and I will probably make a video about them.
Well put! From what they’ve told me they made the 24mm better.. but I can’t confirm since I don’t have both copies to compare! But I agree with everything you’ve listed. They’re great bang for your buck but performance you need to spend a bit more to get something better!
I remember a couple years ago when getting a F stop so low on full frame would cost you a second mortgage on a house. Glad to see it's getting more accessible. What's your opinion on vintage glass adapted to full frame? (like old Nikkors)
I’ve enjoyed Sirui’s anamorphic lenses before, wouldn’t mind trying them. But my curiosity combined with an actual existing budget would go for the 7artisans haha. Solid vid kapatid
Salamat broski! 7artisans definitely is good as well and just depends what you're looking for in terms of the lens. Both have their pros and cons and about the same once you balance it out! The sharpness of the 7artisans is definitely more attractive to me in terms of corporate or product shoots!
@@VictorLaforteza Can't say I'm using these professionally but I could use them but I am attracted to more sharpness for the cost. Shooting lots of broll of camera gear if anything hehe
I saw a video where the 7 artisan lenses (25 and 50mm) were terribly soft and not at all consistent with the Light intake at different stops. I think sirui is safer as a set and 7 artisan is great only if u get 35mm.
@@cyano3d thanks for the insight. I don't plan on collecting more cine lenses but I'll keep this in mind. I think I may stick to just the 35mm if I end up getting one.
Tough choice. I dislike the focus breathing on the 7Artisans & dislike the CA & short focus throw on the Night Walker. I don't think I'd get either of them.
I can't wait for your a6700 review. 😅 I need to watch your review before I buy mine. Also, please give us your honest thoughts about the overheating issue and whether it's actually useable when you are in a hot and humid South East Asian country.
I picked up the 35mm from 7Artisans. I personally wanted a lens that had less than "perfect" optics (at wide open) for a more stylized look to contrast with my APC Sigma lenses. This is my first cine lens, and I'm not used to the 280 degree focus throw. Do you have any tips for getting better at focusing on set or in a run & gun setting? Love your videos.
practice is the only thing I could think of. More time with it and get used to pulling focus! I'm not the best focus puller myself but still trying to get better at it
i actually preferred the 7artisans in all the tests, the warmness of the colors reminds me of the S4, but then again lenses are subjective and project based. The sirui, to me, just seems a tad too clinical.
Felt the same, and I feel as though people think focus breathing is a bad thing, if anything it just a characteristic and adds to the feeling of being present.
Woo! I was hoping you'd make this comparison! 🙌🏻 For everything that the Night Walkers have going for them, I can't get over how noticeable the CA is wide open, if this was brought down a good amount it would be perfect
I got the Sirui 24mm for my S35 sensor. I got the black because of cost, which is my only true gripe with that series. Why is the gunmetal gray so much more expensive?
Great informational short video. Thank you, Victor. But please replace your transitions, my eyes feel really uncomfortable and some people might feel bad because of this flashes.
Both lenses are garbage. Watch five reviews and see five different outcomes. Sometimes Sirui is sharper, sometimes 7artisans. Sometimes CA is iff the charts, sometimes not. It's a crap shoot as to which ones you'll get.
Me out here watching like I got the money to buy these lens
Thanks for tuning in though! 🙏🏽🙏🏽

Who you telling bruh me too!😹😹
We gonna get some cinema lenses soon or later though

The nightwalker surely wins my heart on this test! The consistent build over the lineups, and look. Minimal to no focus breathing. Chef's kiss

Been eyeing the 7artisans for so long but I feel like I’d be picking the sirui this time around.
7artisans was great until the Sirui came along!! They really beat them for the price too
I find the siruis real pretty too!
Good work mate.. Short and crisp 👌👌pls do a review on FX 3 vs FX30.. Apart from the sensor size.. Pls do a detailed review.
thanks! Potentially! I do love both of those cameras

If they bring it down enough to match the CA on the 7Artisans, that’s enough for me! Everything else about the Night Walkers is fantastic

Can you please compare it against slr magic cine lenses as well? Same price point

How can you easily remove CA in post? I did not find a truly good solution in Resolve yet.
I'll make a tutorial! Usually with other lenses it's easy but with this set I was only able to reduce it but not completely.
