I found the Thrill video on RUclips in 2020, at the start of the first lockdown we had here in the UK. Their music got me through those dark days and I'm still a fan four years later, Maidiacs for life❤🤘
The shot from the Manners MV at 0:27 is like some kind of mafia photo. Miku: the big boss. Kanami: the boss' right hand Saiki: the one you have to get through before you speak to the boss. Akane & Misa: the enforcers who have a cement overcoat in your size ready if you piss off the boss.

I would only have added that, not only have all the members grown and improved, but they are more than competent: Akane and Kanami are on many lists of top drummers and guitarists, and MISA is now clearly in the conversation for best rock bassist playing today. A bit more info on their management: It looks like their management - Platinum Passport - was shut down by their parent company Platinum Productions which focuses more on models, and actors than musicians. So The Maids formed their own management company to manage themselves - but interestingly seems to have kept some of the staff from Platinum Passport. P Passport seams to have been spun off. A name change to EVIDEM INC. An address change. Their focus is 1) planning and production of artists good. 2) music software planning and production. 3) artists fan club management. 4) RUclips video plaand production. Partnership companies include Pony Canyon, Universal and others. I would not be surprised if they work with B-M. And I would not be surprised if B-M is still signed to P Production, at least as individual artists. It is the Japanese way. Maybe Production is still picking up the tab. It takes a big investment too produce a band and I don't think the members have the money. And who owns the recording rights? And the band name? As long as your successful you get more and more favorable contracts. I think that's what this is. More power but not complete autonomy. I've only heard of super groups going totally on their own in Japan. Like Southern AllStars and One OK Rock. And Band-Maid is really not that big. They do alright in mer h and fan club stuff. Which is just what the new company's specialty is.
Perhaps BM bought Platinum Pasport including the copy right of all their songs, and almost all of PP's employees follow them; or perhaps being force to join by Miku ready or not. "You must joint, Po!" 😂
Very nice intro to the Maids for first timers. Just a note for first timers - there is so so so much Maid Lore to be uncovered. Going through all of Ohrenje's doco's will be very much worth your time. They are a great band with a great story to tell.

i feel so lucky to have discovered japanese girl groups in '16 starting with the MAIDS. best rock band in a very long time with LOVEBITES taking the gold in metal. the newer bands have been coming out of the woodwork with stunning talent in a wide range of musical styles. glorious !
It has not been an easy path for the maids, but we are all grateful that their vision and determination has resulted in this fabulous band. Everything about them is entertaining and a great deal of fun to watch.
IF there could be only one photo of them.... (though I love them all !)....it would absolutely have to be the one at 6;01.............of them admiring Miku's formidable biceps !!!!! That has to be about my favourite picture of BandMaid !!---ever ever ever !
It’s kinda sad that Miku usually gets the end of the stick when mentioning her talents . She birthed this bands concept and did ALL the leg work. She is the one who decided to get a new singer and not the whole band as per many interviews explain this and no one mentions her contributions as the main lyricist to the majority of Band Maids songs. Kanami is respected as a song writer but Miku should be mentioned also as creator. I respect the whole band and love what they all bring . But the buck stops with her as a business person also . What I’m saying is she deserves her props and just glaze over such a great and talented individual who actually brought all of us together should be praised equally and celebrated 😊 . Love live the Pigeon !Ohrenje ,what a magnificent way to honor these ladies of Rock
...and if anyone ever wants to see, graphically, the depth of Miku's spontaneous creativity.------have a look at the short little vid of MIku: ....... waiting in a corridor with NO props (unless a red raincoat may be called a prop)... and apparently being a hyper-cute version of Little Red Riding Hood ! (well...a very jpop version). She is C.H.A.R.M. incorporated !....on top of all her technical and artistic talents .

Band-Maid is a miracle. How many of us would have believed in a young Japanese maid cafe employee who dreamed someday of becoming a Rockstar... without even playing any instrument? Who would believe this humble girl would assemble the finest Hard Rock band in all of Japan by herself? Who would have believed in this "silly" concept of an all-female Rock band dressed as maids? Whose song lyrics are in Japanese? I mean, ALL ODDS WERE AGAINST THEM. The Japanese music business is a ruthless industry. If they depended on famed producers, they would have become a parody, a bizarre curiosity, a comedy act... or worse, an object of male libido. There's no way Band-Maid would be "marketable". It shouldn't work. It's impossible. And here they are. Stars have aligned. The true Spirit of Rock requires a leap of faith, rebellion, dedication, courage to challenge. Very few dare to play Rock nowadays, garage bands are a thing of the past. All arts eventually die. But somewhere, someone dreams (and works hard to make it real). It's silly, it's a waste of time, it's ridiculous until... it isn't. How do you know you can't fly if you don't even try flapping your wings?🕊️
IZUMO NO OKUNI was the original ,founding member of BandMaid . She lived in the 17th Century----and there is an endearing staue to this Rock Goddess right by the grand opera house at the Shijo bridge over the river, in Kyoto ! And just incidentally----she INVENTED KABUKI theatre ! ....and stopped the street violence of the times. And----80 years later---the little male dictator of the time, STOLE Kabuki from the Maids of that time ,and forced it to be men-only ! Disgusting! So-----it is only right and just that Bandmaid brings back the spirit of the amazing Okuni ! TARAAAAAAA !!
