It’s not just them waiting on their team to make a play, they’re waiting on the enemy team to misplay. It kind of works because the enemy tank fed every fight, but they could’ve punished it from a better angle AND denied the rez AND lived afterward. Also if you rely on the enemy team to play poorly you’re only going to win against bad teams

This just further confirms that low elo consists of nothing but people trying to melt the tank in a straight line because they're the bigger, easier to hit target, once that can't happen anymore their brain shuts off. Anyone past diamond would be railing the squishies off of charge from the tank or at least attempting to. Or they'd at least take an off angle or highground.
I'm borderline in lower elos (low plat) and have friends at lower elos, who generally try to go for squishies most of the time. A lot of times, our performance (final blows and elims vs deaths) in matches when we play solo is very high compared to out teammates because of this. When we play together we usually face smarter opponents, but those matches generally have a bit better quality at the expense of felt difficulty.
Btw, I'm Diamond on support, I was talking about my DPS rank which used to be higher in plat, but I keep falling to gold and then slowly rising back to plat 🥲
I suck at DPS cause my aim is bad (I’m a masters mercy OTP) and even I know to rail squishes …. Even if I fail at it consistently 😂
These random sojourn rails at less than 50 is really peeving me. It’s a finishing move! It’s like if a widow never charged their scope
It's this guy's single biggest problem. 50 damage or less Rail does nothing. But a 100 damage Rail does a lot. Think of if from your perspective, if you get hit with 50 damage what do you do? You're probably just gonna shrug it off and stay in your position. But if you get by a 100 Rail, you have to back up, hide behind cover. If you peak you can get easily one shot. You can't deal damage if you have 100 health. If this guy starts fully charging, or even close to fully charging his rail instead of just randomly shooting it at 50 or less, he will win more fights.
@@neptunemedia874650 Rail actually does 65 damage, 100 rail does 130 damage. Headshots do 1.5x more damage.
@@kommandantkillcode Close actually. Rail does 130 at 100 charge, and 80 damage at 50 charge. They changed it so the damage = Charge amount + 30. That means it goes from 31-130.

Haven't watched the video but shooting at 50 is fine. If you've already hit a decent bit of primary shots on a 200 HP, then a 50 HS will finish them.
My technique on dps is to be as annoying as possible to the enemy team, because that will make it so that they focus only you while the rest of your team can just walk over them

This guy is mega autopiloting
As someone with 270 hours on Sojourn, this guy's biggest problem is the random use of Rail. They are just using it just to use it, almost never charging it up all the way. Enemies can shrug off 20-40 damage, but 100? They have to hide behind cover. If this player starts actually charging his rail all the way and starts going for squishies instead of the tank with it, they will win way more fights. It's literally as simple as that. I'm also just 2 minutes and 40 seconds into the video

Problem in plat is this is where most people start so you have those ranking down and up and its 50/50 whether ur going to stomp or get stomped. Plus the more you lose the worse teammates you get for some reason. Its a jacked up system.
“Play to Win, and not to not lose” is something I use a lot in all sorts of games. I’ve been learning some Fighting Games lately and a big thing in that is not giving your opponent more than they take on their own.
This might sound stupid but I think the problem is the high grounds are a bit too high in OW: mechanically bad players can’t get there consistently, so they just refuse to do so. Meanwhile Bastion perfectly works right behind the tank. Thoughts?
Hm maybe but I think emonggs point is that there is a total lack of trying to take high ground. If you never try and make mistakes, how would you ever learn?

Can someone explain how is it Plat game>? I see in my mid silver ppl playing much smarter and fighting for the high ground so WTF is that...?
Different players, you can find people fighting for the high ground even in Bronze but then they miss all of their shots and so going hg didn't really matter.
I wanna say mmr boosting. and I firmly believe as long as mmr boosting is a thing, comp will be filled with people placed too high/too low.
@@phitc4242 I mean there isn't anything absurdly wrong with this guy, has to improve aim and positioning but the overall gameplay isn't the worst, I just don't understand what you guys expect from a plat game (which btw it probalbly isn't a plat lobby since this guy is in a 10 loss streak).
@@andreamicheli2575 i think people are just confused as to how some people DO play like they should be a higher rank than they are when people ARE a higher rank than them and basically just spectate the entire match or do the most idiotic things you could imagine like pinging a highground enemy and making it "someone else's problem" when you have a hero that can contest the highground.
@@rawtoastgaming-Gin 1 Pointing out someone's mistakes in the replay is way easier than doing it mid game. 2 People say that they play better than x guy all the time, but the reality is that while they can have good games they lack consistency. You can have great games where you go 50 and 6 but that isn't gonna matter if you play horribly in the other games.

I think after a 10 game loss streak this person has to take a break from comp and come back with a clear head. Tilting causes more mistakes and autopiloting. The fact that they're Plat and allergic to high ground is criminal.

Mercy Rez, Mercy Rez, Mercy Rez. Need to be using time to walk to new positions. Using abilities is fine, but if your whole team is playing passive and slow, then you might as well save the cooldown. If you're waiting to regroup. Do it on your sides high ground

This is what baffles me about the DPS players I see in my rank. I see so many of them just failing to take risks, even when they have a pocket. I’m a (DPS) Moira main, but when I play DPS, I play like I would on Moira (with some differences to allow for differences in the role and abilities, etc). I try to play high, I take risky angles, I use my movement, especially on Sojourn, who I just picked up this past week and fell in love with, and if I’ve got a Mercy on my team, I do my best to look after her (and the other supports, too, if they need the defense). I will be the first to say my DPS gameplay is pretty variable. I have a B2 rank, but honestly, sometimes I play more like a B5, and sometimes, I could maybe be Silver. Maybe. But I definitely just try things, just like I did when I was learning Moira. I’ll never understand playing super safe when you’re not crit health.

This is what I don't understand about the ranking system: this person, who clearly has a lot to learn - is in Plat. It feels like the metal ranks are just randomly assigned sometimes. The range of knowledge and skill is so inconsistent from game to game... especially depending on what time of day you play.
Mhm i think this player should start watching his own games. First of all it's a good break and on a loosing streak you don't carry momentum into the next game anyway. And second he needs to work on position and timing. So take your time and look for opportunities. It's great value when Emongg does this, but it's still good value when you do it on your own.
