Lily, I’m praying as well that he won’t change, will not give in to peer pressure and will be protected from people who might want to take advantage of him. He’s a good kid.
He reminds me so much of my own son. He passed away in September of 2018. Everyone called him a gentle giant, like Iam. He loved Everyone, and everyone loved him! He had a childlike personality too!

I AM- My son has ADHD too and he now has a college degree in Microbiology with a minor in Chemistry. He repeated a lot of classes but never gave up. Just like you
I AM! You never gave up on Idol. I have a large playlist from your songs and performances! I love your music! I have always watched Idol. Never EVER did the audience get so quiet while
anyone was singing! Everybody crying? Yes everyone! All 3 judges, me and the rest of the fans and the other contestants! His whole family is just amazing, supporting and loving. Special credits to his uncle Manatau who is just always there for him from the start. I am pretty sure when iam goes on tour his mother, uncle and probably some of his siblings and family will be there for him taking care of business so he only has to worry about singing. Let's not forget all the Hawaiian and polynesian superstars who are going to take care of him.

This special presentation was so touching. We all love Iam here in West Virginia, hoping in time we will see him close by in concert. You did an awesome presentation so many times I cried. Iam deserved this win for himself, his family and all of his fans. I believe he will be the top American Idol of all times, surpassing Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson. I go back in time of my life of many stars the 50s, 60s and 70s on. Iam voice is the best I have heard in many years. He will be a superstar. I pray he stays with God to guide him along his journey.

In a day and age where "News Media" outlets everywhere are condemned and ridiculed daily, watching such a wonderful, positive, in-depth story on a hometown hero is SO REFRESHING. It would have been so easy to focus much of the production on other aspects, such as promotional tours, making $$ Money $$, fame, and fortune for Iam moving forward, but you stayed focused and grounded in the Island and Home values - BRAVO.
From the first to last voting opportunities, Ian got 100% of my votes, AND for the first time in my Idol watching career, I became one more cheerleader who rallied people via social media and in person to vote for Iam when the polls were open.
The special thing about Iam, that thing which sets him apart, is his heart and "Mana." One doesn't just "Listen" to Iam sing, you FEEL him, and we need more energy like that in the world today.

We wouldn't see any of this normally because we don't live in the USA but Iam is loved and has fans worldwide and we love his journey and wish him success throughout his life and in his career. Some tears when I watched especially the part where he wasn't with his Dad when he passed as he was in Hawaii. That struck me because same thing for me when my Dad passed I was in another country. I love hearing about his life and challenges he's had. I know he would've been very low at his Dad's passing. It took me two years to get through losing my Dad and I'm much older than Iam.

Amazing human being and journey so far, and hopefully he has a bright future ahead of him but lets have some real talk about his obesity. He's only 18 and looks like he's already having issues walking. He honeslty needs to lose weight otherwise he's going to have a lot of health issues and will not have a long life, like Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwo'ole RIP.
I hope he gets the health help and support he really needs.
I am thinking he gained the bulk of his weight after moving from Hawaii to Federal Way. Wa. where he couldn't go out walking with friends and family.

It arrived today 😅 and I’m back to binge watching everything Iam. Loved watching this special coverage. Makes me appreciate everything he’s gone through even more, but especially his mom and dad. They still are doing a great job raising him.❤

Thank you for sharing Iam's journey with us, very well done. I first heard about Iam at work in Edmonds, Wa from a co-worker and on the front page of the newspaper on the same day. At first I didn’t think much about till I heard him sing at his audition, then I was hooked... or maybe I shoukd say, I was moved. Sometimes days get lost in the mix of doing what needs to be done, and then something like Iam's gift touches the part in you unexpectedly with a song and a sound. So grateful I could learn of Iam, what a gift to our generation. ❤❤❤
