First time I have heard an AJR song as well, the lyrics were powerful, the tune very pleasant and the change in intensity and pitch gave it some variety, as it was essentially the same tune throughout, with the ending then adding something different. As I like a lot of Progressive Rock, it would have been nice to have a brief bridge in the middle; but otherwise the song and video held my interest.
I (Russ) went in having NO idea what to expect. I know they're very popular but I had no clue what they'd sound like. I was relieved to find out that my son recommended some good music to me lol
My personal favorites from this album are “I won’t” “yes I’m a mess” and “the DJ is crying for help”
