Watching this is a little bittersweet now because parts of it are such a clear reference/love letter to Madonna, and with this video and then her next single Born This Way there was such a backlash towards her taking inspiration from iconic artists of the past. I wish the world looked at this as a tribute instead of thinking she was trying to get away with taking something, even though she’d be happy to tell you exactly what she was referencing and why it inspired her
