Hey everyone! Apologies for the delay, this was supposed to be out yesterday but I had to attend some real life stuffs (Nothing serious!) Hope everyone enjoys the new upload As for the clips, I was planning on including more older footage of polarize but... sadly a lot of videos have been deleted off youtube so I had to make do with what I could find :( Anyways thank you all for the continued support
Hey bud I think you missed something about eximus. You can actually cast magnitise right on the eximus and that will allow you to kill them using the damage in the bubble. More than one eximus? Mag has three bubbles and you can magnitize up to 3 eximus all at once.
You don't need to apologise. You're making this videos so fast, it's insane. I just hope you don't burn out and keep doing them. Don't push yourself bro! :)
Mag always just seemed to Pull me to her. Something about her kit just seemed to Magnetize me. After a bit of using her, I could understand how her kit could Polarize the community. Though personally, I think she can Crush the competition.
Mag has always been a favorite of mine. Only issue I ever had with her is survivability but her sheild regen helps a lot nowadays. Only upgrade she could use now is how her prime looks.
At the moment im running a mod set that converts 40% of energy used into shields, currently stacked up to 120%. it also can overshield you. my mag has like 720 shields but if I fully stack it I go up to 1200. never decays either unless you get shot. pretty damn good on her I must admit.
Heyy thank you for this! Mag is truly one of the most underrated and underused frame despite her having such a massive power and build possibilities. I picked Mag as my starter and while I didnt initially enjoy her back then, she is now my goto for regular content and steel path alongside Nova and Gauss. Her lots of buffs over the years now made her, imo, the strongest of all 3 starter frames by far, at least by mid to late game. I love how you explained the history with detail, lots of effort mustve been spent on researching patch notes and updates because I think Mag received the most changes over the years compared to other frames. Also Mag with Nataruk is insane. If you're finding yourself having problems with ammo, go for this combo.
@@Jackson... simply put better survivability, better damage potential, better utility (which is somewhat debatable, all 3 have their own great utilities) and better synergies with weapons. Volt may excel in speedrunning or eidolon hunts and Excal is better in general tankiness and ease of use, but Mag is generally better overall. She has spammable shield which means infinite shieldgating and armor strip with her 3 (and 4 if you use augment), awesome CC which can be used on pretty much anything except big bosses like profit taker, and very high dmg amplifier for your weapons, to the point of being easily one shot or two shot acolytes even at higher levels. All her augments are great too and you can mix anything you want. Shes just incredibly versatile
Even then there was much more to showcase but... sadly a lot of older footage has been lost in the sands of time :p but I've hope I've delivered justice to our queen mag!
@@NeightrixPrime in early game pull spam is more than enough to slaughter most mobs. It also deals respectable damage. But yeah the rest of her kit is definitely not early game friendly
Gauss is so fun to use. Especially with his running vacuum mod. I just run around the map slamming into things. Especially when he gets a 300% str increase in arbies
I would like to add that InexpensiveGamer (now known as RuuTV) championed Mag during alot of the period after she got Magnetize, even doing entire streams finding out exactly what weapons can last the longest in Mag's bubble, and which did the most damage. IIRC, The Zenistar was pretty busted with the bubble, and still is, but the Zarr was absolutely insane with the cannonball. Zarr's Cannonball was basically just an instantaneous oneshot of almost any enemy in the game at that moment, only getting exponentially stronger w/ Magnetize the more punch through you gave it. Turned out that enemies can be hit by the same projectile multiple times as long as it exits the hit box. Unfortunately, Ruu a k a The Bladman left the game shortly after raids were removed because it got too grindy and caused burnout. Though I imagine you happen to have a video on the mess that is Open World Warframe.
I have no idea how I couldn't come across them, I was spending hours online trying to figure out more information and history of mag, but thank you for letting me know!
Just for context: I'm MR 7 and haven't even cleared Ceres yet I just love mag. Pulling in all the small enemies and just wrecking an huge balloon of baddies is good Ole fashion fun. Your videos have helped me out a lot. As I fumbled my way through my first bit of this game. I appreciate the effort that goes into these. Thanks Nova, keep up the great work!
How are you MR7 and still on Ceres? You should really try progressing through the star chart. You don't have to clear all planets but at least gain access to all planets cuz that way you can gain access to all assassination missions as well as quests in which both get you access to more frames.
@@vincentsanabria if it makes yall feel better I've cleared Jupiter since making this comment 😅 I said I was fumbling my way. I got stuck on a junction for like a month because I was supposed to go talk to someone I didn't know existed I also know im behind my MR is boosted from playing with higher level players.
One of the things you didn't mention that helped Mag greatly, was the change to armor stripping. Just have a 133% strength build, and the crush augment now strips all armor, making Magnetize even deadlier. Even way back when getting 100% status on a shotgun meant you had a broken weapon in your hands, a 100% status mara detron with some punch-through had Mag dealing insane amounts of damage, what held Mag back though was a severe lack of survivability.
@@Caster_- Yep, and with the introduction of archon shards, you can get your casting animation of her 4th + augment fast enough it feels nearly instant, so as well as 100% armour stripping, she also generates overshields which helps greatly with shield gating.
I’m a Mag main (actually a Mag “only”). I’ve cleared all content with Mag and playing solo. Love her. And I’m glad to see she’s getting some positive reviews for once. I actually hardly ever use the Magnetize Augment. I’m casting it enough anyway that I can detonate a bubble just by applying more of them, and I don’t need to strip weapons because enemies just aren’t alive long enough to use their weapons anyway. I also adore the augment for Polarize. It disables all enemy weapons, even Eximus, through walls, and shield-gates. So it makes all ranged enemies useless at any level. The only thing Mag struggles with (when used properly) is boss fights that disable abilities. She had to focus on shield gating, toxic resistance, and Life Steal with a good glaive in those rare cases. But yeah, Mag is a limitless frame. I can say from experience that nothing the game throws at her will stop her. And that was before the armor strip update. I never paid attention to the community and only play solo, so I was completely unaware of how controversial she was at first. But by then I was already into Steel Path and didn’t even notice a difference. When enemies of all levels can’t shoot, can’t move, and die in less than two seconds, it’s really hard to understand why people hate her.
In the exact same boat as you, Used mag for the entirety of my star map play-through. I find her to be a monster at basically everything. Unfortunately, her only real downfall was defense style, which she was situationally great or terrible at. My original tactic was to wait for a mele troop to run up and attack the target, (Pod/console/extractor) then pop a bubble onto it. With maxed duration that gave about 25 seconds of bullet immunity and killed anything else that walked too close to punch it. But it required that a melee troop be there. If nothing was there to magnetize then no immuno-bubble over the dense target. That changed with the sub-ability to attract bullets yourself. It has the same max duration and you can stand with it over the target to get the same bubble effect. A great back up tactic of there not troop to bubble, and really the only way I use it.
Same. I just don't use her in eido because it's mostly immune to her skills. But her play style is so fun to use. If I could use Volts' shield and replace her 4, I would use her for profittaker. But her 4 is already a 2 second i-frame: that means immunity to certain death and knockdowns for 2 seconds. People underestimate crush, but those s will save you in a pinch.
@@wellhello1575I actually use her at 88% duration because her bubble can be annoying and block shots, and I also have her at 175% efficiency view the fleeting expertise mod. I love spamming all her abilities with the low cost. And crush uses i-frames which means invincibility for 2 seconds. Very useful in a pinch.
Mag was my starter but it was only after Hildryn being easier to use abilities did I go back and try to play Mag with abilities. She's very fun, even swapped her out for Mag Prime. I wish she had better looking heads tho. The one you wore is the one I wear and is one of the only good ones
While I'm slowly going through these videos (and anticipating new bangers), I am slowly coming to a horrifying conclusion: I now understand what its like to be a veteran of a game and seeing someone dissect its past. I used to watch essays about online games I like but wasn't aware of their past, or wasn't there for it. Think Team Fortress 2, or Dead by Daylight to a certain extent. I would go: "Huh, the game used to be like this? that's interesting." I would occasionally see someone talk about "back in my day" when it comes to their favorite games, but I didn't really care/get it. But Warframe? I've been here since day 1 of its PS4 release, since 2013. I've seen (mostly) it all. I remember old Excal, remember back when Mag was meme'd on for being useless, remember Volt and Speed being his only redeeming quality, you get the point. And seeing this video gives me both nostalgia, and a bit of fear. Fear as in: "Dear god, am I this old?" Thanks for these videos, @NovaUmbral. Please keep making quality content like this!
It's not that people didn't "see it that way," but rather that it took literal _years_ of adjustments to Mag, and additions and changes to the game itself, before Mag in any way functioned like she was supposed to. ...And even now, her abilities are still clunky and buggy. But at least when they work properly, they actually do something worthwhile. That Pull still continued to launch enemies _behind you_ up until the most recent changes I think highlights this fact.
Holy shit thank you hell most people that were saying she was good were using the lanka and her two yes it was a strong combo but what of the rest of her kit? Her three doing a flat amount of damage just wasn't worth anything outside of low level star chart because enemy armor and health use to scale so damn high once you go to places like the void. and when Nullifiers were added her one good ability got shafted hard crush only got sorta worth using in the past couple years a very slow casting animation that left you sitting still which is another issue that older frames had their abilities locked them in place and no shield gate if you used that at high level and didn't catch every enemy in it that bombard that is chilling outside of the range is thanking you for free shots. The Brozime video that he clipped is probably the worse example to use in that video the man has 300% power strength her three took a few casts to kill elite crewmen at level 105 and the elite lancers that he used next took maybe 5 to 10 % of their hp per cast Mag was in a bad spot but people like to pretend that she had more than two abilities back then and I don't know why.
@@dragconenher crush is a 2 second i-frame. That's pretty useful imo. Imagine tanking certain death, or preventing knockdown at will. The past is the past, let it die bud.
@@WarPigstheHun You may wish to take your own advice there bud given the comment I made was almost a year old at the current time. Crush has no I-frames to speak of Mag is able to take damage throughout the cast time I just tested it to make sure, Mag is in a good spot but it took a very long time with a good deal of changes, pointing out that there was a time span where certain things didn't work well is not a problem or being stuck in the past its how things get fixed.
I started in 2016 and I picked mag as my starter. I immediately regretted it once I saw how cool volt and excal were but I was too invested at that point to restart so I stuck with her. Eventually I learned to use her and I actually started to really enjoy her, magnetize was fun to use and the shield regen from polarize actually came in clutch for me quite a bit. If I had to go back I probably would still pick volt or excal but I’m glad I learned to enjoy Mag
note that the armor stripping with fracturing crush used to be like a 3 button cast with polarize added in to make it permanent, and that was super unwieldy (fracturing crush didn't have the cast speed buff at this time either). and without armor stripped, magnetize damage wasn't as good either. mag benefitted a LOT from the ability armor strip rework, and i think this is part of why it flew under the radar the fact that fracturing crush strips armor has far more synergy with magnetize than any of the hard-coded synergies increasing damage by a thousand or whatever. you can set up one button ~15% duration magnetize bombs with exergis that nuke an entire room *without magnetized discharge manual detonation* (though i'd still take it for the range) which is far easier to use in an actual fast paced mission than trying to abuse magnetize with long lasting projectiles outside of endless defense/survival. even pull has synergy with magnetize just by the fact that it groups enemies together. it's always better to design abilities that synergize by *function* rather than flat numbers.
@@NeightrixPrime that's definitely fair, for the min duration bomb build i really only consider fracturing crush/fleeting expertise/transient fortitude mandatory and the rest is just trying to hit enough strength/range to personal preference. i think the disarm effect does still take place even when you don't manually detonate, but it doesn't necessarily matter if they're dead
Great vid about the best girl. She's my starter and main. I never got to play the old version of her since I only started playing the game about 4 years ago, so I never had that prejudice against her not being a one-button nuker so I've always loved her. It's amazing the stigma one can get from the change like that.
For anyone late to this video. Polarize is instant shield gate and counter pulse stuns enemies with overshields, Fracturing crush can full armor strip at 129%(might be a bit higher), Discharge is up to you. Weapons with persistent projectiles will keep moving and keep damaging enemies in bubbles. (penta,Nataruk, arca plasmor)
I came back to the game after nearly 8 years and used to main Mag (Mag, Loki, and Excalibur were starters at the time). Trying Mag again was very jarring because the changes to her kit. But I love that my main has remained great.
Learning Mag and building my first resource base with her really taught me how much I love playing her. It's a bit sad that the self-magnetise isn't as effective as in the trailer, but I am fine with that. The mag I saw in the trailer is how it feels to play her, redirection and control. Today I am a master rank 16, and shredding missions together with my kuva brakk
That'd be pretty annoying, one of the reasons I dislike Nova's DR is the clutter of the orbitals. But if Mag collected them in a Gardua's Orb-like fixture to the left of her then that could be good. Better still if collecting Shards would "Charge" the orb, to provide a persistent benefit, so the shards could still then be used next time she enters a Magnetize bubble or casts Magnetize to add the shards there, while retaining the charged orb's DR, maybe throw in a multiplier for a charged orb that boosts the anemic Polarize and Crush's damage.
I’ve started watching your videos relatively recently and I’m always excited when a new one comes out. I love your discussion of the frames and how you look at them, as well as the history behind them. I listen to these at work whenever they come out and it’s always awesome! Keep it up, you deserve all the support in the world
I started playing Warframe with Mag way before her rework - I liked the idea of being a backline caster with cool multipurposed abilities, particularly shield regeneration and removal. Thanks for the video, and I hope more people greet novice Mags with a smile. We may not be the flashiest, but we're happy to pull the team together!
I was gonna play mag at the start to pick her as my starter, but at the time I was in college so I was busy getting stuff done. I wanted to try Warframe because of JT machinama's song video called Warframe Rap (cuz I loved the music made and had it as a ringtone) and a few Warframe players on college campus played on the waiting areas. I like playing girl characters (cuz c'mon girl characters are badasses, even if some are annoying to use but waifu material is best) so I wanna go for mag but hesitated to pick her and had a gut feeling that she's need a a lot more set ups plus on how she works so I had to move to Excalibur for easy kit use and coolness. After farming a few frames a few months after my start in 2021 (Sisters of Parvos update I think) and getting mag to subsume, I tried her kit and indeed what you said she seems lacking of her skills and thought only corpus use since shields is her forte. I will try Mag again now that this vid got me interested
shields were her forte. This has not been the case for a few years (earlier than 2021). Just get good range and a good projectile gun (exergis, for example), press 2, shoot it in the bubble and you'll have an idea on how to optimize it.
You forgot 1 detail about shards from Polarize - they don't just increase the Magnetize damage, they orbit inside and proc piercing + slash. While peircing is kinda meh, the constant slash procs turn Magnetize into a literal blender without any projectile based guns. She is truly complete now.
This clarified a lot for me. I picked Mag as my starter forever ago and was pretty underwhelmed by her, continuing to play her solely because I loved how she looked and MAGNETS. After taking a long break from the game I came back to a completely reworked Mag and was suddenly feeling quite powerful.
I remember when I started playing about 8 years ago. I picked Mag as my starter frame and then played through the whole map with her. ( Was so green I didn't even know how to get blueprints or other frames and just saw a piece for each in my foundry. At the time I didn't realize bosses dropped them, I was just doing the assassination once to open the node and then move on.) Anyway, most of those missions were done solo. Intentionally, as I had just given up on teams by the number of people who would join in with me, call Mag trash, and then leave. So every mission was an exercise in developing a strategy to use Mage effectively in that mission type. Some were simple and others not so much. At about Uranus was where a friend told me that I could get Frame blueprints from bosses, so I went back to get Excalibur and Rhino, but upon playing them for the first time it had just felt so odd. Their kit was too different from what I was used to with Mag's play-style and builds that I realize I had so much muscle memory for using Mag's kit after so long that it was difficult to readjust my thinking for other frames. So all the way to Sedna I go soloing Mag. At the time I never understood the hate for Mag. Even she then, was at the start of her current iteration as the powerhouse she is now. Hell even though I have 15 other frames in my stable now, she is still over 75% of my frame used, and the one I pull out when I need to get shit done for whatever reason.
I started playing Mag this week finally after a long dismissal of her. I'm actually quite mad at myself, she destroys everything endgame. I'm level 29 working to 30, and she kicks ass.
Her polarize augment is one of the few things that can CC eximus unit now with the eximus rework since it still put robots to sleep and guns to jam, with the exception being melee eximus
I played with mag recently and had fun shooting the nataruk into her second ability and then pulling shit in to get immediate red crits for the projectiles lifespan
So I recently got back into warframe and I remembered reading her moves years ago and thinking that she sounded cool conceptually but I didn't feel she was very practical. Then without me telling a soul youtube somehow found out that I decided to try her yesterday and she secretly became my favorite warframe in my small collection (except maybe citrine). As soon as I fired off that first pull I was sold, I didn't even know what the rest of her moves actually did I just decided she was the one lol. Now after seeing this video I do have mixed emotions on her overall preformance but I'd be lying if I said she wasn't competing for "most fun warframe" among the ones I've played.
I started with mag a few years ago. Basically used her for the entire base star chart. My friends were saying she was a rough start but she seemed fine if you payed attention to her kit. I was a little annoyed they didn't give her a new passive in the recent rework. It doesn't really do much.
I've been with Mag since 2015 when I first started playing. I've gone through every buff, nerf, rework, etc etc she's had since I started. My all time favorite frame who will always be my go-to for any and every situation.
I've been playing since 2014 and I've been a Mag main the whole time. Even though she was niche af originally, she was my favorite. Making her less niche was a great move on DE's part. And I especially remember the mag arguments, all of them were just mad that they had to try. Very weird time. But yeah she's great, I'm glad she's getting the love she deserves now! Also: I love your Mag, she looks phenomenal.
Mag was the reason i first started warframe when i saw her in one of the earliest trailers. She was my starter on my first account and was again my starter when i got back to the game in 2013. She was my first prime and was my most used for a looong time. Right now she is in 3rd spot if you count her prime and non prime as seperate but my most used if you stitch them together, with around 14% usage over almost 3k hours of playtime. Whenever I try some new looks I first try them on my Mag. She's pretty awesome if you ask me, but as stated above i'm hardly objective in this case haha
Your videos are always super solid and interesting watches, I really do adore hearing how things were before I ever started playing, what the metas were like and all that, your discussion of the numbers and how these frames affected the game, I can't get enough of it! Looking forward to your Saryn video!
Mag was the first Prime warframe I got, and was my favorite for a while (I even got the Prime version before the normal one). I loved how she could completely obliterate the Corpus with Polarize, and her skills were overall pretty fun. Then I started using Ember Prime, which could also nuke everything with one or two skills, and she became my main. After returning to the game a few years later, both warframes got nerfed and could not kill everything effortlessly anymore, which was certainly heartbreaking, and I haven't used them much since then. Keep in mind I'm very casual and never enjoyed minmaxing or copying builds, so I just wanted to have fun and kill stuff easily. But still, nowadays I think Mag is a pretty interesting warframe, and more complex than many other warframes. She still has a place in my heart as one of my most beloved warframes.
I love these videos. Mag is such a cool frame who should definitely be appreciated more as a starter. I always thought her and Nova looked like disco twins in different outfits.
I love watching vids like this, especially if it's about a character I like. And this vid hit the spot its informative and fun, but I have to say the best length for this kind of videos is between 20 to 30 min higher than that is a bit too much. Nonetheless great work loved the vid exicted for the next one.
Returning to the game as a mag main im happy people finally see her as so useful, i personality used a 3 build just for the movement freedom, and the 2 to lock doors on longer missions, way back the mara detron with her was an absolute beast, pretty fun the new hame hame ha move, was so confused when i played her back
The first rule about Mag: You don't talk about Mag. The second rule about Mag: You don't about MAG! Had so much fun with Mag especially after her rework. The fact that she has an ability that scales will always make her a solid frame. I like putting Radiation with high status percentage on her weapons and you can go into high level missions, use magnetize, and shoot a few shots into the bubble and enemies will aggressively attack each other inside the bubble. Simple tactic but very effective.
I used to use oberon's subsumed ability on mag but the rad procs actively worked against the bubble if the enemies were capable of aoe knockdown like a heavy gunner. They kept knocking every enemy out of the bubble.
It should be noted that Pull doesn't break invisibility (from Shade, for example). It's awesome for stealthy missions. :D Mag was my pick when I started playing, and she's awesome. My favorite (even if I'm in the low end of mediocre). I didn't know I could blow the bubbles, didn't try it (I usually just spam Pull, and I use Polarize when running low on shields). :D
05-23-1013 the day ogris launched was the day the DOS started. It was trinity and link. She could carry to around round 73 in t3D then she was used to feed energy to 2 fleeting nyx staggering Absorb to pass damage cap back and forth indefinitely.
Mag's been great since I started playing in 2018. I love how she makes unique use out of non-hitscan weapons. Aside from her recent rework (which she really didn't need), it was the early 2020 shield rework that made her godly, and she flew under the radar for years after that despite being one of the strongest and most durable warframes. Her only real kryptonite is toxin status.
One of the things people often don't notice is that Fracturing Crush can do a set 100% armor strip at only 136% ability strength, regardless of level, steel path, or any other factor aside from sortie or archon hunts with the amplified enemy armor effect, this will always in 1 cast completely strip the armor of all enemies effected by it, making mag one of the best armor strips in the game, able to even strip the armor of bosses and acolytes.
Porb my most fav warframe her bubble is something else her senergy with weapons are insane when meele was broken the stropha bubble and the bow(forgot the name havent played in a long time) bubble combo was disgusting endurace run was a joke for her cuz of her busted shield gating
To this day I still consider Shield Transference the most OP , broken augment / mechanic that was introduced to the game . Then that augment was first introduced there was no overshields mechanic and the augment had no cap on shields that it provided to Mag , paired with Polarize being % based damage that meant that Mag potentially was immortal as long as there were any shield type enemy units as well as nuking anything with shields and those around it in small radius . So yeah , Mag was most powerful shield tank and nuker in the game .
God I miss running cerberus and sechura pre-nullifiers with mag shirld polarize just 1 shotting the entire map on command. Easily one of the most satisfying abilities in the the history of the game.
I absolutely love Mag. Btw you didnt mention her polarize mod 'counterpulse' can also affect eximus units, not a lot of warframe can CC eximus, but Mag absolutely does with her augment. Side note, i do prefer her Magnetize without augment, i just like to leave bubbles all around, as i charge the bubble with phenmor/laetum quickly in seconds for high dps multiply, enemies just melts as they pass by even in high lvl long run.
Crush gives knockdown and stagger immunity and I think invincibility which helps get you out of tight spots. I use her alot because he magnetizer provides easy headshot kills in addition to crowd control. Just magnetize an enemy and shoot upward at the bubble and it'll hit the enemies forehead. I use her with 88% duration because i find her regular bubble duration or longer is annoying, 200%+ str, 145 or 160% range, and about 170% efficiency. Keeping her airborne is paramount to survival, So I use lightning dash, and regularly bullet jump high above ground. Don't forget switching to operator and into void mod is a huge lifesaver for any and all Warframes. With op mode, survival depends on your own reflexes. She won't outclass volt or nova as a map wide nuke frame, but her play style rewards very aggressive and quick relexes. Sometimes I swap Crush for Volts' shock because it's cheaper to cast, or roar. Still playing around with other Warframe abilities. I use pull alot speeding thru missions, especially in infected areas. It disrupts enemies cheaply.
Mag was my first frame, but since Saryn came out only a few days after I started playing I barely got Mag to max level before my friend helped me farm Saryn, and then it was over for poor Mag. She was my first prime as well though, so that's not nothing I suppose. I've tried her a few times throughout the years, but her kit has never really vibed well with me. Love the idea of her, I'm always right on the edge of trying to get into her in a bigger way but it just never works out - to me she feels like a frame that takes a bit of practice to really make use of, and since I play pretty sporadically I just never find a way to make time to get the reps in with her.
Give it a shot. I just ran a level 40 something void fissure with her and was playing with Mr 30, 24, and 15, and still ended up with 61% damage done. Just now max leveled her. #1 frame to me now
As the proud owner of the Mag sux clan (Windows) 1. Magnetize can effect some boss enemies with reduced duration and range (which is not an issue since it means the explosion damage is rather fast) 2. If an Corpus bubble hits magnetize, it instantly explodes. 3. Most bullets usually headshot within the Magnetize. 4. Running Mag and a Nova Specter in high Steel Path survival makes the game crap it's pants. 5. There is a rather obscure melee Mag build that relies on meleeng within the Magnetize, but i really do not recommend it. 6. I strongly recommend Arcane Consequence with Mag due to the headshots mentioned earlier, it just makes the frame go extremely fast. Edit : Just to clarify about the headshot thing, i did not go in depth as it is self explanatory but still - most weapons will be forced to headshot, which can and will activate additional secondary effects outside of the "uga bugga headshot damage". This includes some rather hilarious visual interactions like Opticor's beam doing sharp turns.
You actually missed something about pull: It was the start of LOS powers. Pull if you did it right could reach 3 to 4 tiles over and pull enemies into walls, now you wonder how powerful is that? See once an enemy is pulled into terrain/objects, they take direct physical damage, so you did max range, high strength on your pull and pull 4 to 7 times and then either everything is dead for the next 3 rooms or at half health or lower. Once people discovered this DE nerfed pull to be a cone and LOS....Oh yes I forgot that pull was 180 degrees in the direction you was looking at. Greedy pull just was the bow that tied up the gift nicely.
Honestly, if I wouldn't have chosen Volt as my starter and went for Mag instead, she would've definitely been my favourite frame in the game. She is so damn fun to play.
I use daikyu with her magnetize and it's been amazing. I have an okay riven stats on the daikyu and have vigilante mod set at 20% on my sentinel's weapon. Her magnetize center point is the enemy's head which helps me deal millions of damage with the weapon and then using the magnetize augment to detonate the bubble. Using pull and crush with this clears the room in seconds.
try using weapons with infinite body punch through like exergis, (tenet)arca plasmor or my personal favorite Nataruk Create a Star in 2 steps... step 1: cast magnetize step 2: Shoot a perfect shot in the bubble in other words be aware of energy color its fun for 5 min after that its pure pain!
@@Jayyrains i play on console (on an old standard ps4 from 2015) and don't have any issues about crashes using that weapon i use a pretty dark energy color and it is pretty tame in terms of particles so everyone should be fine if they tinker with the colors a bit
@@nergion1326 that’s odd because I get massive frame drops when someone else uses it. And literally every run I do with a console player they crash at some point. Idk if it’s a cross play issue or the bow itself or both.
@@Jayyrains can't say what goes wrong with you dropping frames or other players crashing, could be a lot of things, hardware, internet of the host/clients the region players have set in their options (playing NA as a European increases ping by lot). I highly doubt it is the weapon itself i assume a lot of problems stem from crossplay my loading times have increased since it got released and i started to lose connection to the host in the loading screen. I just hope DE can fix it fast but it was inevitable that it is buggy if even DE calls it a Beta 🤣
I never really enjoyed mag at all. She was my first picked Frame back in the day and she was dull, I purchased Nyx to support DE almost immediately after experiencing the great community support. I remember how dominant and good Nyx was in the early days and loved the idea of this crazy CC Warframe that made enemies fight eachother infinitely until their deaths. I remember only ever using Mag just for team setups for Greedy pull and nuking on Corpus typed Sorties. When she got her reworked it was interesting as I was already a Lanka enjoyer, one of the few people that used the weapon before the hype for Eidolon hunting. She was interesting and strong I'll admit, but I never enjoyed her kit as a whole. Crush was shit, and Polarize I was fine getting the % damage nerf, but as utility stripping of enemy defenses it should have been percentage instead of the flat amount strip it did. She just became this 1 ability Warframe, that yea at the time there were a lot of frames defined by just pressing 1 button, but I didn't enjoy Mag's 1 ability that she relied on. Relying on just Magnetize wasn't fun. She is at a much better state these days, but I still don't enjoy her playstyle. I still consider her changes for abilities to be more synergetic to be very weak conceptually aside from Pull and Magnetize, that was a good change. Her survivability can be mitigated these days with Helminth and some mods, but back in the day having just Magnetize for pure damage and her defenses being nonexistent was very unfun. When that new animation came out for all the starter frames and she caught all the bullets, it further supported my old forum suggestion that she should have a 2nd ability built on top of Magnetize to reflect projectiles like Zephyr. Then they did add the bullet catch wall, but it is currently pretty shit and not a bullet reflector like it should have been.
A Nifty secondary effect I've witnessed using Mag, you can put a second smaller bubble on the same enemy as the first, what effect this has?...yeah i dunno but I've sent things into space with that + Nataruk before.
Hey everyone! Apologies for the delay, this was supposed to be out yesterday but I had to attend some real life stuffs (Nothing serious!) Hope everyone enjoys the new upload
As for the clips, I was planning on including more older footage of polarize but... sadly a lot of videos have been deleted off youtube so I had to make do with what I could find :(
Anyways thank you all for the continued support
Hey bud I think you missed something about eximus. You can actually cast magnitise right on the eximus and that will allow you to kill them using the damage in the bubble. More than one eximus? Mag has three bubbles and you can magnitize up to 3 eximus all at once.
You don't need to apologise. You're making this videos so fast, it's insane.
I just hope you don't burn out and keep doing them.
Don't push yourself bro! :)
Can you please do Ash for your next video
Mag has always been a top tier frame since I first started playing 6 years ago.
@@arbhall7572 but where would you put her? Brozime puts her in B tier?
Mag always just seemed to Pull me to her. Something about her kit just seemed to Magnetize me. After a bit of using her, I could understand how her kit could Polarize the community. Though personally, I think she can Crush the competition.
I mean she is attracted to all of us
I saw what u did there

I love this entire paragraph.
"You pull me closer

Mag has always been a favorite of mine. Only issue I ever had with her is survivability but her sheild regen helps a lot nowadays. Only upgrade she could use now is how her prime looks.
( ☉ )
What, this doesn't do it for you?
Yeah, the helmet kinda ruins the prime for me.
At the moment im running a mod set that converts 40% of energy used into shields, currently stacked up to 120%. it also can overshield you. my mag has like 720 shields but if I fully stack it I go up to 1200. never decays either unless you get shot. pretty damn good on her I must admit.
@@the_last_ballad ( ☉ Y ☉ )
Archon shards would help Mag I think.
Not a big Mag user, what makes her so much better than the other starters?
Right? Why she always have a flat Mag butt???
Just for context: I'm MR 7 and haven't even cleared Ceres yet
I just love mag.

WHAT? CRUSH CAN REMOVE ARMOR BY 100% NOW? IN A SINGLE CAST?
@@Caster_- no
@@18alimann it can. I tried
@@Caster_- Yep, and with the introduction of archon shards, you can get your casting animation of her 4th + augment fast enough it feels nearly instant, so as well as 100% armour stripping, she also generates overshields which helps greatly with shield gating.
@@18alimann5 months late but yes it can
I’m a Mag main (actually a Mag “only”).
I'm in the same boat but I do like range for cedo or infinite peirce gimmik
While I'm slowly going through these videos (and anticipating new bangers), I am slowly coming to a horrifying conclusion:
I now understand what its like to be a veteran of a game and seeing someone dissect its past.
Fear as in: "Dear god, am I this old?"
Thanks for these videos, @NovaUmbral.
Yeah I noticed they improved pull. But I thoroughly enjoyed pulling enemies off the map during defense missions :) just for the lulz
If I had to go back I probably would still pick volt or excal but I’m glad I learned to enjoy Mag
note that the armor stripping with fracturing crush used to be like a 3 button cast with polarize added in to make it permanent, and that was super unwieldy (fracturing crush didn't have the cast speed buff at this time either). and without armor stripped, magnetize damage wasn't as good either. mag benefitted a LOT from the ability armor strip rework, and i think this is part of why it flew under the radar
the fact that fracturing crush strips armor has far more synergy with magnetize than any of the hard-coded synergies increasing damage by a thousand or whatever. you can set up one button ~15% duration magnetize bombs with exergis that nuke an entire room *without magnetized discharge manual detonation* (though i'd still take it for the range) which is far easier to use in an actual fast paced mission than trying to abuse magnetize with long lasting projectiles outside of endless defense/survival. even pull has synergy with magnetize just by the fact that it groups enemies together. it's always better to design abilities that synergize by *function* rather than flat numbers.
It's amazing the stigma one can get from the change like that.
this man is out here pumping out content faster than gauss oml
A better passive could work with her polarize ability. Shards are attracted to Mag. Each shard adds 10% damage reduction up to 50% for Mag.
No?
I love mag I picked her in the beginning because most guides say she's complicated. With all the new stuff we've gotten lately she's nuts
She is truly complete now.
well this was incredibly confusing
but thanks!
I can't really get mag prime rn so I'll stick with the standard version, but I can't wait!
At the time I didn't realize bosses dropped them, I was just doing the assassination once to open the node and then move on.)
Anyway, most of those missions were done solo.
Finally, 30 minutes about one of my favorite frames
That old Pull sound hits right in the nostalgia.
Jedi force pull. Genuinely a dream so many people have fantasized about for ever and is only realized in mag.
It's crazy how this video just popped up in my recommendations. Mag was literally my first warframe 🙌.
I started with mag a few years ago. Basically used her for the entire base star chart. My friends were saying she was a rough start but she seemed fine if you payed attention to her kit. I was a little annoyed they didn't give her a new passive in the recent rework. It doesn't really do much.
Such a great frame. Great video about her as well.
As a Mag main, I approve positive videos about Mag.

Baking mag prime in the oven right now, this video made me almost boost the crafting with plat lol. Love these vids!
Love mag! She was my starter frame. Would love to see one of these about Oberon!
i like the trip down memory lane. i'm a founder and seeing the old ways is nostalgic.
Magnetized Discharge Augment. Sold by a syndicate that hates my guts!
I love watching vids like this, especially if it's about a character I like. And this vid hit the spot its informative and fun, but I have to say the best length for this kind of videos is between 20 to 30 min higher than that is a bit too much. Nonetheless great work loved the vid exicted for the next one.

It should be noted that Pull doesn't break invisibility (from Shade, for example). It's awesome for stealthy missions. :D
Mag was my pick when I started playing, and she's awesome.
Her only real kryptonite is toxin status.
really impressive upload schedule!
On a side note, mag has, since the scarlet spear cinimatic when I first saw her, is the owner of my favorite helmet in the entire game.

god, shout-out to mag's sound design specifically. those are some really crunchy sound effects.
Wasn't going to play today, but my Mag Prime just finished building, and I just saw this video. Guess I gotta do what I gotta do.
Mag is the QUEEN
Interesting how she used to be anti corpus, now she is weaker against corpus because you can't magnetize lasers
Yeah... I was surprised to see bullet attractor replaced, but it's great.
Loving these frame history vids
#1 frame to me now
I remember watching a t4 defense world record run back in the day and mag would just spam pull for days, i mained her ever since
As the proud owner of the Mag sux clan (Windows)
1. Magnetize can effect some boss enemies with reduced duration and range (which is not an issue since it means the explosion damage is rather fast)
I will never get rid of my Mag prime. She is my go to unless I need to do some crazy tanking or expect poison damage.
been loving this series
You actually missed something about pull: It was the start of LOS powers. Pull if you did it right could reach 3 to 4 tiles over and pull enemies into walls, now you wonder how powerful is that? See once an enemy is pulled into terrain/objects, they take direct physical damage, so you did max range, high strength on your pull and pull 4 to 7 times and then either everything is dead for the next 3 rooms or at half health or lower. Once people discovered this DE nerfed pull to be a cone and LOS....Oh yes I forgot that pull was 180 degrees in the direction you was looking at. Greedy pull just was the bow that tied up the gift nicely.
picked excalibur as starter. tried out mag when i found out she can one shot corpus with polarize. haven't stopped playing her since.
Honestly, if I wouldn't have chosen Volt as my starter and went for Mag instead, she would've definitely been my favourite frame in the game. She is so damn fun to play.
Take a shot every time he says ‘Mag.’
Mag's my favorite frame and her Alata skill is easily the best looking into the game.
I had no idea her abilities gave shields 😂
Missed the chance to say "her magnetic personality" at the end there.
Just wish mag had magnetic status procs on her abilities. It would work melee arcanes & melee in general very well
De didnt want frames to be a 1 button nuke button. Here walks in Gauss 😂
I was a Mag for hire for Draco run.
Using pull and crush with this clears the room in seconds.
try using weapons with infinite body punch through like exergis, (tenet)arca plasmor or my personal favorite Nataruk
Create a Star in 2 steps...
step 1: cast magnetize
step 2: Shoot a perfect shot in the bubble
in other words be aware of energy color its fun for 5 min after that its pure pain!
@@nergion1326I don’t see how people enjoy using the Nataruk. I make console players crash and also make my game temporarily run like garbo
Mag was the first Warframe I chose. I was attracted by the fact she had a feminine silhouette.
after watching multiple videos from you i've realized one thing... you really like the phantasma
I did not know how powerful Mag could be until I built her prime variant. Yeah, she's squishy, but she can also dominate the battlefield.
..
If you use the augment for polarize you get some nice CC that even works on eximus
Mag is my favorite frame/most used by a long shot
A Nifty secondary effect I've witnessed using Mag, you can put a second smaller bubble on the same enemy as the first, what effect this has?...yeah i dunno but I've sent things into space with that + Nataruk before.
ran a 3 and a half hour survival the other day and the dude i was with was using mag, and he was nuking enemies that were level 4000 with ease
Surprised that he didn't mention Shy.
