Could you possibly make a video talking about the difference between a masters and bachelors in interior design? Also, I am interested in a video comparing schools/programs!
Great Idea! I'll add this to my list!
Yes I would love to know both as well!!!
I’m 16 and I’ve always wanted to be an interior designer/decorator since I was 12 and I literally write out floor plans for fun but my mom always said I had to be amazing at math so this is so reassuring and helpful thank you!!
You can do anything you put your mind to. I am going back to school for Interior Design and it is the best decision I have ever made. I wish you all the best in you career endeavors.
You’re the interior design big sister all of us have always ever wanted 🥺💗
Aww you're too kind 🥺♥️
If you could do a video on what you are up to now.
Also lets say 5 things you wish you knew before you went to college.
Thanks and CONGRATULATIONS once again
Good idea!
Thank you! I’m currently on the journey of switching professions (from an engineer in the oilfield to interior designer) and the information you’re sharing is giving me the confidence when I feel in doubt. Gonna up my grind! 💪🏽💪🏽
This was so helpful, thank you! Also, you're so pretty, honestly!
Thank you so much...this really helped me out w so manny things👍😋
Another great video! Very informative.
Such a great personality! Thank you for your videos! They answer so many questions. I am sure that the project was in Professor Wang's class! LOL

Glad you liked it! I'll get right on that :)

Already did boo! There's a video on my channel. 😊
Omg this is soooo helpful, ty so so so much!
I love your videos! I have a few more questions for you. What kind of high school classes did you take that helped you out in college? And what kind of jobs are out there for interior designers? Thanks!
Hi Autumn, I have a video on jobs for interior designers that helps give you career ideas. And I didn't know I wanted to be a designer in high school so I didn't really take any classes I thought helped me out.
Omg thank you for channel so helpful
I’m only a Junior in Highschool, but i’m really interested in Interior Design already. I love drawing.. (Ik u don’t have to be great, but I draw realistically). I also rearrange my room A LOT... like when I was 10-11, I would measure my furniture/room and make a “blueprint” drawing of my room, so I can see how I want to change it & I still do it to this day lol. ANYWAY, Im a new subscriber (: and I’ll continue to watch ur videos to learn, bc after high school I want to take at least a 4-5 month break to work and save up to get into college. & get my bachelors degree... and hopefully be all set for interior designing in the future & continuing to get better at it((: & LOVE ur videos btw, I haven’t been bored of u talking yet lol bc i’m actually REALLY interested in what ur saying 😊and I’m happy to start learning rn
I also took graphic design already(: and passed the class over a 100 lol.
Wow thank you for sharing with me! :) I'm so happy my channel is helpful to you and wish you the best of luck when applying to schools. Do you have any specific colleges in mind?
Thank you so much for your videos, they’re very helpful 👍🏾 I do have a couple of specific questions and I’m seeking advice badly😭, is there another way to contact you other than Instagram? Congratulations by the way!
"Get in loser's, we're going shopping!" Hehee I caught it, love that movie! Thanks for your videos. I'm looking for an interior design class that also teaches you how to use software to make virtual designs to show clients?? So far looks like they are 2 different courses. Looking at New York Institute of Art and Design.
As an interior designer should your consider fashion senses
To work for a firm do you need to go to an accredited school and have passed the exam? Please help!!
Hey sandy! thanks so mucho fro this videos, they really help! I really want to study interior design but I am not a perfectionist, detail person, I am disaster lol. Do you think this is a problem??
Not a problem at all! You'll learn how to be detail oriented in school.
I’m minoring in architecture. I’m an interior design student. I also am minoring in merchandising and consumer studies.
That's awesome! All those studies work great together!
@@SandySaintilus could you minor in interior design and major in architecture or minor engineering and major in architecture
@@stephanie623 Depends on if your school offers it as a minor. Not all schools do.
do u know if University of South Florida (USF) has a interior design major?
I’m in year 11 about to go into sixth form in the UK and I’m not sure what subjects to take or if I should take a B-tech I was thinking art and design, photography and creative media. It would be really helpful if you could reply and help me out ☺️thanks.
Hi hun, thanks for watching and supporting my video. I'm in the US and I'm not familiar with "sixth form" or "B-tech". Could you please explain? Then maybe I can answer your question better.
I'm 17 and I want to be an interior designer..and you really help me.😭 sorry bad English
You're English is fine :) And glad I could help!
Hello sweetie, can you tell us about your portfolio u used to apply for Interior Design course in your university? I’ll be very glad if u make one video about it 🥰
Hi Kim, I didn't have a portfolio when I applied to design school. I talk about that in my other video "4 things to know" about interior design school
When do you need to submit a portfolio ? :)
Depends on the school. Some schools require it during the application process and others don't.
How is interior design and interior architecture different?😁 can u tell me more?🥰
@@kimjero5810 My understanding is that they're the same
What science subject do I need !?
I recommend any science of light or science of color classes.
Hello Thank you for all your information, I have a question for you how can I ask ?
Feel free to message me on Instagram
Hi :)
Can I ask a question?
Is interior design an "employment" or "entrepreneurship"?
It can be both. You can work at an interior design firm as a designer or you can start your own business and take on your own clients. When you work at a firm the clients aren't "yours" they're the company's clients and you work on a team
After graduating an interior designer degree can a person directly apply for an interior designer position? Or they should apply first as an junior interior designer?
You can apply for whatever you feel comfortable applying to and een if you don't feel comfortable you should try it anyway. The worst you can get is a '"no" so i say go for it
Would you recommend an online interior design school?
I'm not super familiar with online schools. What does the the curriculum entail?
Is CIDA only in the US? I'm about to start my freshman year and I'm wondering if I'm studying in a foreign country thats why. Also if uts like just a for all interior designers around the world so would it apply to schools in other countries and if I take the exam would I be able to work anywhere with whatever degree I have?
Check out the CIDA website. They'll have more information on this.
Is it helpful to major in a language?
Not necessarily for interior design but I think everyone should learn a new language lol
Hello . I am currently pursuing my bachelors in English Literature from India . I’m interested to pursue my Masters in Interior Architecture from NYSD or SCAD or even from FIDI . How according to you should I plan my Masters ? Should I go for a certificate program first and then go for my masters or directly go for masters ? And 1 year masters or 2 year masters ?
Most master's programs are two years. You'll also want to check with the school you want to apply to because not all schools let you into their masters without a bachelor's in design.
Hi Sandy, I was hoping you could help me understand this better. I am a transfer student applying to University of Florida and I am changing my major for a bachelors degree in interior design! I was told that it would take me 4 years to complete my degree since the classes are structured over 4 years to give students the ability to develop their skills. Ive counted all the classes I need to take for my major and its 22 classes. Divided into 4 semesters (2 years) It would be 5-6 classes per semester and thats totally normal for most students. And since I am a junior Ive basically taken all my core classes so it makes sense for me to take 5-6 classes per semester so I can speed up my process.
However I understand that interior design unlike most majors is a project based major that requires sincere creative effort. So in your opinion, since you are taking interior design and know what the rigor and curriculum is like, do you believe it is more than possible for me to graduate in 2 more years instead of 4?
I remember you mentioned that graduate students can get their masters in interior design in only 2-3 years because the curriculum in condensed in that amount of time so I hope its possible for me too. Ive emailed my advisor about my concern. I hope it all works out!
Also do you think? Does it make sense for me to speed up my process and get my degree as efficiently as possible or does 4 years make more sense? Thank you so much!
I'm no longer in school but I'll do my best to help. The major is very intense. Taking that many classes will take a huge toll on you. It can take 30hrs just to complete one project for one class. It can take even longer when you get into the more advanced classes. If you have responsibilities outside of school, like kids or a job then I don't recommend this. Even if you don't have those things outside of school, you still want time to be social, hang with friends, and just live your life. Taking that many classes will impede on that. I'm not trying to discourage you at all I just want to be realistic about what you can expect. If you still want to take it on then I believe you can do anything you put your mind to.
@@SandySaintilus yeah that makes sense 😦 thanks Sandy! I’m gonna try and figure out more information about this 😦
Is an interior designer the same as an interior architect? Love you❤️
Love ya back! And to my knowledge, most of the time yes, they're the same thing. Some countries call interior design interior architecture
okay, thank you so much❤️❤️
What about architectural design is that the same?
Can someone tell me the basic salary of an interior designer?
Can we do this job for a living?
I recommend going on this site (www.glassdoor.com/Salaries/index.htm) and taking a look at interior designer salaries in your area to give you an idea of what designers make.
Can i become a interior designer if i graduated as architecture student? Because we don't have BSID here, architecture only
You sure can! A ton of architects do both :)
@@SandySaintilus thank you.
How much it cost to study interior design for 2year ? Please reply
There are hundreds of different schools to study design. I don't know the cost of each one or which schools have 2-year programs. Most programs are 4 years.
Can guys do interior design I asked that cause only see girls posting videos about it
Of course! There are tons of guys in interior design :)
Sandy Saintilus ok thank you
But do u have to be good in math
lol don't worry so much about the math. it's not algebra, just a lot of measuring and multiplying.
Sandy Saintilus ok that’s easy thanks
Can you take interior design online?
I believe there are some programs that are offered online but I'm not enty familiar with them.
Hey Sandy.. I am 13 and this is my passion. You are so helpful.. just love your videos and adore the way you answer all the queries. I have a whole lot of queries, it would be great if you can share your email id or let me know where can I connect with you. Thanks a bunch! 😊
