  • For starters, and this is an easy one, it will go ten times faster than cleaning all by yourself!
    ✨But here’s the real purpose…
Vacations are hard work as parents, but by including your kids and teaching them early on that magical vacations don’t just happen, you will instill a sense of ownership and lasting values of hard work within them. And the more we work as a team, the easier it is, which means less stress, less yelling and more ACTUALLY wanting to go on vacations together.
Here’s our tried and true system of cleaning and unpacking after a trip…
🗑️ Mom tosses everything that needs to be carried inside the house onto the driveway. Kids carry everything inside. You may think your kids are too little to help, but even carrying small items into the house makes a big difference, even if they have to make several trips.
🎿Dad unloads all the gear from the box or back of the van.
🎒Kids move anything that belongs to them to where it belongs inside the house. They also put the dirty laundry bag away.
🧊Mom puts away leftover food and unloads cooler. Finishes organizing inside the house.
🧽Dad vacuums and cleans the now empty van.
We get everything cleaned and put away in an hour and then we are happily eating pancakes and chilling at home after a long drive♥️
If packing and unpacking stresses you out as parents, include your kids! Teach them the value of working hard and contributing to a worthy cause and I promise it will do far more than simply make unpacking easier🙌🏼
