Never appreciated B&D when I was a heavy metal listening runaway teen working on construction sites down South, but they grew on me. Solid, singable melodies; three chords, and the truth.
Im gonna say this I’ve grown up my entire life in northern Florida I’ve been surrounded by country and I’ve hated it! But now I’ve started to look back on the artists that truly defined the genre. And I’ve always come back to this song it’s perfect even when it’s not playing I’ll just find myself singing it to myself randomly. I am by no means a 80s kid I was born in 2004 but this song is incredible and should be crowned as not a country song but a great country song!
I grew up kinda hating this song (and most country of the era) as it was ALL my mom would play and I was into my punk and stuff. Now as a grown man with kids I have a new appreciation for the country of this time, and a good amount of nostalgia to top it off.
