While stationed in England I got into an argument and the girl called me a “wanker”, I knew I’d been insulted however I didn’t know what it meant. So I asked for clarification to which she replied “you daft fucking twat” , and that I got, and I was very excited that I understood which prompted her to ask if I was “mental” and taking a stab in the dark I said yes?🙄 I suppose the encounter came off as slightly endearing because she did take me home later 😁
undirected thermal reactions are weak. Conatain the reaction in a vessel that allows it to be directed in a singular direction and there'd be a hole through the block if you made the mixture right.
I don't think it was the right mixture. The best mixture is 1 part aluminium powder for every 3 parts oron oxide, wich would make the thermite look red. The mixture in the video was grey.
Red iron oxide works best though. The mixture doesn't matter very much. The ideal mixture of iron(II) oxide (red) is about 54g of aluminium with 160g of iron(III) oxide. Don't measure by volume, that's silly.
In the end modifying the chemistry doesn’t change anything. Either way it doesn’t matter. Neither will do much using it the way that he’s using it. They have to be used as shape charges/focus their thermal output on a smaller area. That requires some machining, or at the very least welding experience. Thermite alone won’t do anything special. You need to design housings for the chemical reaction.
When an engine gets completely destroyed, you can melt down the block, and then cast the molten metal back into the original shape of the engine block. POW! You've got a brand-new engine! Wash, rinse, repeat, ad infinitum!
Could i put a thermite mixture in a bag and use it on a lock like they do in breaking bad and just stick some magnesium ribbons in it and have one sticking it out?
Decion well said! Its funny how people can have such strong opinions on things they have no experience of! This surprissed me, i expected it to burn right through the block!
oh god why dont you put you're money where you're mouth is you dumbass and make a video of a steel beam encased in concrete and show its failure when you placed a focused thermite charge in it! Post the link to the video here so we can watch it when you are done, that is if you are not too busy smoking weed and playing gta!
Now some people argue that it didn't do anything to that engine block but if that was an actual running vehicle with all the hoses lines and gasoline and oil and so on after that kind of experiment attack on the engine block that engine would no longer run the vehicle would no longer move cuz all the control valves hoses connections lines wiring would all be burned away rendering the whole vehicle useless but that's just their Siri because they never actually done it where the proof is right here in the video and they won't believe their own f****** eyes
Norman Murray yeah i expected 2kg of it would have melted a nice sized hole right through it but it didnt, the aluminium block dissipated the heat so well it didnt touch it! Thanks for watching!
Paul Sheer i think the aluminium block dissipated the heat from the thermite with incredible efficiency! it would be interesting to try it on cast iron block!
@@marktgsxr Aluminum has a ridiculously low melting point compared to cast iron, I think you just suck at making thermite. It should've gone through the engine block in seconds.

The Nutters Workshop so rural the license plates for your truck is American? Or at lest not the strip of numbers and letters that are British license plates
just an opinion, this could've worked if the thermite were concentrated in something heat resistant that controls the flow of molten iron, like a flower pot. That way the heat wouldn't be spread out and the melting metal could've pierced at least one layer on that engine block. aluminium has a very low melting point compared to iron (about 660 vs 1540 C). not to mention thermite burns at 2000-2500 C.
Yeah, iron oxide absorbs moisture. If it was left out in the open, it probably was. You need to keep it in a sealed container, or dry it out in the oven before using.
It produces white smoke and no soot, and in the wtc there was white smoke and apart from the jet fuel exploding from the impact there was also flames without soot all most at all. Just something to think about.
The Nutters Workshop If he would have put the thermite in 2 flower pots, one in the other, set the pots full of thermite on the block using the hole in the bottom of the pots to were you want the hole in the block.
