- The Last of Us Part II is one of my favorite games of all time, and I love it to the extent that I've made a prediction video about the potential next game in the series: The Last of Us Part III. In this video, I break down what I think we're going to see in Part III: ranging from who the main characters will be all the way down to some very specific plot details. I can't say for certain that I'll be right, but using supporting details from the games and from the mouths of the writers themselves, I hope to see some of these predictions come to fruition.

About The Last of Us Part II: Five years after their dangerous journey across the post-pandemic United States, Ellie and Joel have settled down in Jackson, Wyoming.
Living amongst a thriving community of survivors has allowed them peace and stability, despite the constant threat of the infected and other, more desperate survivors. When a violent event disrupts that peace, Ellie embarks on a relentless journey to carry out justice and find closure. Just wanna share my own idea that I think could create a new arc for TLOU3. I'm curious what you'll guys think.
1. Ellie's immunity is caused by mutation of the infected who bit her.
2. If this infected mutant bit another person, he would also be immune.
3. Vaccine can be created from the immune person, which will kill him.
4. Vaccine can also be extracted from the infected mutant.
Immunity is not so widespread because those who are bitten either kill himself, turn to infected, or get killed by his team.
Feel free to expand on this plot and share your own idea. I personally think that TLOU3 should build a story around Ellie's immunity.
I believe the rattlers will be in 3.
My take on the end of the game was that Ellie was leaving the farm to go to Jackson to find Dina and JJ
I think that the stories tied in together very well, the writers should center part 3 around Ellie going off to find JJ (Dina’s son), as JJ (a young teenager in part 3) has gone off to try and seek revenge against Abby for killing her father Jessy.
Tommy, who is playing sort of an antagonist in this role, is still seeking revenge for the death of his brother Joel. That it is why Tommy convinces JJ to go off and try to kill Abby (because Tommy is injured and can’t do it himself).
In sort of a redemptive role, Ellie goes off to save JJ. This may redeem her mistake in abandoning her relationship with Dina in order to seek her own revenge. This may also be a way of Ellie’s character ark coming full circle, as she has now gone off to try and save and protect a young vulnerable person in the way that Joel had been there to try and protect (and ultimately save) Ellie.
Whether or not there is a vaccine (cure) made by the end of the story may be implied, I have a feeling that the character of Liv (whom Abby had earlier saved) may be immune, thus putting Abby into a difficult dilemma whereas she has to decide whether or not Liv’s life is worth gathering a vaccine and making her relive the moment where Abby and her father had discussed whether her father would sacrifice Abby to make a vaccine, which Abby had said would be the right decision.
Perhaps they will not find a cure, or maybe they will. One thing is for certain though; Ellie has gone on to be the hero that we all thought she would be by saving JJ, thus redeeming Joel in a cathartic way too, proving his decision to save Ellie was the right choice.
(Who knows, Ellie may even wind up saving Liv (who is immune herself and may just be the cure that the Firefly’s assumed Ellie to be)).
Another interesting take is that I believe Nora was Eugene’s daughter. When Ellie and Dina enter Eugene’s lair, there they find a photo of him with a daughter and another woman. Nora would been younger at this time as it implies that Eugene had gotten older (73) and died. This would match up to Nora’s age, as she was a younger girl in the photo. Nora working in the hospital may have been her following in her mother’s footsteps, her mother being Marlene from part 1.

If they don't make a part 3, at least make a DLC that gives Ellie some sort of peace of mind. Either show her finding Dina again, or living on her own and finding some kind of happiness.
@@Chriztefur did you read Ellie's journal on the farm and pay attention to what she said? She has suicidal thoughts, feels intense guilt. She can't sleep, can't eat and believes the only way out of this misery is confronting Abby again. She has nightmares and not thinking about what happened for 1 day is a success for her. Both Ellie and Dina did what they needed at this time. Ellie needed to confont it again to find peace, and Dina needed a break.
A ray of hope is Ellie wearing Dina's bracelet and Dina's favourite vinyl album you can see on Ellie's guitar case in the ending.
I think they’ll make a Part 3, it’s just gonna take a long time. Another 7 or more years wouldn’t be unlikely. In the meantime, I would love a Left Behind-style prequel DLC focusing on Ellie and Joel in the between time of the two games.
Jessika, I’m confident ND will make a third part and they will move Ellie forward, along with Abby and Lev. They created a much too meaningful and layered character pairing with Abby and Lev to let that go, and I strongly believe their path is linked to Ellie’s.
How they go about progressing the story, and bringing it to a finale (could take more than three major installments, for all we know) is something I’m sure only ND could do for us. 😉👍🏻
@@maxshaw1330,i wonder if ANNA is the prophet Lev&Yara believe in throughout TLOU2...i think that the "Jackson Kid"is Lev,who settled in with Abby,after Ellie allowed them to stay...Ellie s decision will bring her the animosity of Tommy,but Ellie will do it out of remourse from killing Mel...it would be nice to see how other countries fared after the CBI outbreak(Romania,Serbia)i wonder what would Licuricii(the Fireflies)do if they discover a Romanian/Serbian man/woman sharing Ellie s"armour"

Just because a character (or real life human, for that matter) goes through a dark and traumatic period doesn’t mean others wish them ill.
Actually, it usually means as the witness (or real life observer/friend) we want all the more for them to find peace and happiness…
Whatever you are reading into people, through statements like the one you made above, are projections of your own emotional confusion.
I like your predictions. I definitely think Ellie is going to search out the fireflies. That's why the writers use a moth for her symbol. It's a creature that searches for the light in the dark.

Maybe but at the end she let go of Joel and her identity being tied to her immunity. She might just try to live her life and try to find the light in doing good things.

@@sablemae8853 She's letting go of the negative parts of Joel? She is where Joel was at the beginning of the first game. She wears his clothes and she even has a reminder of loss on her wrist. The only real character arc for her is a redemption arc. The writers wouldn't have said multiple times (in both games) "when you're lost in the darkness, look for the light" and have a protagonist with a moth symbol (as well as a loading screen with moths circling a light source in the 2nd game) on accident.
I hope to God they will make a Part 3 that has an ending to this series. I don’t even care how long it takes, I will definitely pay money to play it after completing both games and being a huge fan of the franchise.
Great video, hopefully Part 3 will be confirmed some day in the future.
Edit: A story outline has been finished according to writers Neil & Halley as of 4/28/21. I do not know if this is going to be Part 3 or something else.

I think it's one of the likelier predictions I made! I toyed with the idea of the Jackson kid being one of the kids from the snowball fight from Part II, but it felt too specific and those characters didn't have any names to my knowledge, so it could always just be some other random kid and it'd still have the same effect

Another immune kid could give some clarity to Joel’s lie, that she wasn’t the only one. That maybe Joel did make the right choice, however this diminishes Ellie’s main arc and importance so that would have to be handled delicately to not ruin the saga and importance of ot1 and it’s ending
It's not completely out of the realm of possibility considering it's not Ellie that is special, but her fungus, which for some reason developed differently than the cordyceps usually does. The fungus inside of her mutated in a way that stopped growing, but it's still "active" and alive.
might be interesting if the fungal pathogen inside her is killing her and Ellie is running out of time.

I think it could be interesting if they developed a vaccine without killing Ellie, but quickly realised they would have to trial it on children, and turned to JJ as an option. That way Ellie would be faced with the decision Joel had to make in the first game

Anyone who hated Abby for killing Joel are biased incels that don't want good writing they just want to play as their beloved character no matter how villainous he was. This game was damn near perfect, clearly above your reading level maybe stick to bugsnax or fall guys.

I didn’t like it initially but by the end of the game I was fully invested with all the characters and didn’t want the story to end
The story is okay (still have a massive grudge against it) but it’s not bad it just really pissed me off.
I don't think people see that ellie and abby have the same motivation because in the first game joel killed abby's father and abby just want revenge and ellie wants revenge to because abby killed joel so the story of part 2 is revenge and I don't think people see's that

I know I’m late to the party, but, I think Ellie realized that Joel knew his time was limited after he did what he did. Joel made the decision ,knowing it would eventually kill him ,to be able to give Ellie what she never had. Someone who wouldn’t leave her no matter what. Give her a life, be a father to her and help her find her reason for living, and in that she was able to forgive Joel and Abby because Joel died to give her life.

played it 4 times already since the week it appeared :| sometime I wonder why I even like this game.. because I didn't like the story too much, it always makes me so sad.. and I still play it. I must be crazy.
I’m hoping they don’t take too long on making part 3 like they did with part 2 but there is still so much unresolved that we can’t be done with ellie and Abby yet. I also believe that Ellie will finally try and make it right and seek out Abby and the fireflies for a possible cure.

I really hope Ellie finds Dina and the baby again to apologize. Their little slice of the story was short but so emotional for me. It was heartbreaking when Ellie left the farm

Omg I never noticed Ellie wasn’t wearing the bracelet in California- the fact that Ellie didn’t return straight to the farmhouse is an idea I hadn’t considered before and the fact her and Dina might have reconciled was something I would completely disagree with until you talked about it. Thanks for making me think about something I’d never thought about before!
The first one will never be equalled in my opinion. The depth of feeling contained in that story caught me off guard, especially the giraffe scene. The birthday spaceship scene in 2 was touching as well, maybe the most I've ever come across in gaming. Sure, the story in 2 was a mish mash, but still way better than anything else. I wonder if gaming will ever get to these heights again.
Fantastic prediction! This would make a great game. Ellie, Abby, and Tommy’s character arcs have not come full circle. This narrative for Part 3 I believe would complete it. Very interesting. Really, it wouldn’t surprise me if Naughty Dog was thinking the same thing. I believe there needs to be one more game to finish the story.

@@ReginaldWrites I hear ya. With the incredible success of TLOU Part 2 it would seem prudent their next game would be Part 3. I still think about this game quite often, it’s an experience like no other I’ve played. There’s two other you tubers I watch: Wolf of Thorns and TLOU Strategist. They both gave predictions as well. I like yours the best though, not to take anything away from them, they are both really good, but I think yours would make a compelling story and would connect the themes from the past two games well. Their predictions are similar, but a little different.

This was a really great, well-edited video. I've been just as curious about how Naughty Dog would tackle a story for Last of Us Part 3 (I even made my own video about the subject), and I really like the ideas you've presented. I really like the idea of making the theme about redemption, especially with characters such as Tommy and Abby. It feels like a really fitting conclusion to the world and Ellie's story. Your ideas make it feel like the story has come full circle. I think it will be a while before we get a Part 3, but if it's anything like your ideas, it will be worth the wait. 😁

This content is super appreciated, I have played TLOUP2 last year, when it came out, months have passed and I still can't wrap my head around how good and lifechanging tha game was. I love this idea so much!!! This sounds like a really fun game. I do hope Abby plays a very big part in the game as I really like her character. I hope her and Ellie can become Allies and understand each other’s past, maybe even become friends (tho unlikely).

I LOVE this idea. I want Ellie and Abby to end up having to be on the same side. Tommy would need to meet her to fully make piece, and I think Ellie and Abby could help each other heal and make amends with their pasts.

2024, what a great story idea! Only gripe is the idea of possibly finding another immune person as Ellie’s immunity was such a rare situation (TV show way)
If you’re wondering, yes, there will most likely be a 3rd game, mostly because Neil druckmann said during an interview that he’s writing the first version of it
My prediction for the overall story is that when Ellie's finger got bit off by Abby in the final of Part 2, she accidentally infected Abby with the mutated version of the virus that Ellie has.
Abby will then get bit at some point during Part 3 and will not turn.
When she gets to the fireflies, they will realise this is the cure.
Seems to simple for naughty dog, it sounds like the ultimate happy ending tho. Imagine the cure being that you need to bite an immune person 😂
I Love this game so much i literally just started playing it again a week a go. Its pure perfection.
During the setup talk, I love the idea of Tommy and Ellie being the focus mainly because I want to know more about what he and Joel did those first few years of surviving after the outbreak. I wanted that when I heard there was DLC coming out for the first game and I hoped they would touch on it in the second game. So hopefully I get that in the third.

I can't remember when it was, but at some point, if you look in Ellie's journal she has an entire page with just a single line of lyrics from her and Joel's song:
"All the promises at sundown, I meant them like the rest."

I love this but here is my own version;
The game will start 2-5 years later from part two. It will start with ellie following a path to jackson, with the hope to recover her life. And as jacksons front gate opens to let ellie in, the first person there to recieve ellie is maria, who is very happy to see her. Maria will show ellie jackson, wich has developed a lot along the years. Its longer and langer, with twice as buildings and many more people ellie did not know. In the way maria will show ellie dinas house from the outside. In that moment ellie stops infront of the door for a long moment. In that moment we move to a flashback from the 2-5 years ellie spent alone, where she in her way crossed with the museum she and joel visited when it was her birthday, this will make ellie think about how she would love to take jj there and wake new memories. This reminds ellie of how much she missed dina and jj. Then we would move to abbys pov who has becomed a very well known firefly with lev. At this time, the fireflies are focussing on a way to stop the spread of the infection and in their way cross over the idea of a cure. Abby thinks about telling the fireflies about ellie but isnt sure if ellie wants to give her life up. Because ellie lets abby live at the end when abby could have easily died, abby considers keeping ellies inmunity a secret untill she is sure ellie agreeds to give up her life for a cure. This will start abbys and levs trip to jackson, they will inform ellie about the news and make sure she is okay with all the conditions. Ofc, there would be somechallenges in the way.
Ellie and dina will have their discusions but they will overcome the past and start a new life with one another, and this time they will do everything in their power to keep their lives like this, with one another. Because ellie is now in jackson and there is now many people, the people require more food. Because of this, there is not only patrols but hunting squads, wich is the people who go outside to hunt for food. Ellie will become part of this and will be paired with a young teenager. It will show ellie getting closer and closer to this young teenager, wich reminds ellie of hers and joels relationship. However, one day in a normal hunting patrol, the kid gets bitten, and is ellie herself who has to share the news to the kids family and friends.the kids death hits ellie really hard. This will show ellie that no matter that she had already had gotten over joels death, the world was still broken. This will start ellies feeling of obligation to help the world.
After a lot of time and an extremly large travel ,abby and lev get to jackson. Of course ,they are seem as villains wich makes people want to atackt them, but ellie stops them. Ellie and abby talk and ellie talk. Abby and lev tell ellie about the cure, and by the surprise of everyone, ellie stops and thinks about it. She started thinking that this was the way she could help the world, but she also thought of the life she had with dina and jj and how she couldnt give that up again. She had a family, a home, a life, the life that she wanted ,but she also wanted a world free of fear and pain, free from infected. She thought of jj, and knew that she wanted her son to live a life without fear. She asks abby if there is any option other than dying. Abby asks this on a radio connected to the fireflies, and the fireflies do they research. The fireflies tell abby that the research will take about 2 days. During these two days ellie and abby talk, eventually saying sorry to each other for all the things they did. They are not friends and they will never be able to be because of how much they took from each other, but they understand each other.
The two days pass and the fireflies inform that if there were two immune persons, they could do the surgery without having to kill any of them. However, as long as ellie and abby know, she is the only one thats immune. This leaves ellie without option. She tells dina this and shes heart broken, but she reminds dina that shes doing this for their family.
Ellie, lev and abby are almost halfway to the fireflies base when abby gets bitten. Lev is extremly sad and ellie doesnt know what to do. However, 3 days pass and abby hasnt turned. She was immune, just like ellie. Abby informed this to the fireflies and they started setting things up for when ellie and abby arrived.
They arrive, and both enter surgery, working together for an equal goal, a better world. Abby and ellie have a conversation before the surgery, talking about how 3-6 years before all this, they would have never guessed they were going to work together.
At the end will get a glimpse of ellie coming back to her family and abby and lev getting a house of their own. That will be followed by a glimpse of abbys and ellies family a few months later,when the cure has already spread and infeted are clearing out. It will show both ellie and abby getting ther happy ending. At the end, ellie will get a last flashback/vision from Her travel across the country with joel, with him saying "you did it, baby girl. You did it. You saved the world." Then ellie will hug him, and we will see the last hug of ellie and joel. Joels guitar will sound and we will see ellies hapoy face for a last time, nowing that our babygirl is finally happy

I recently finished playing both games, and it broke me. I am all in with the idea of Abby and Ellie teaming up to achieve a goal in common; the second game demonstrated that they share some similarities, and one gets the impression that all they need is to sit down and have a conversation. I understand that there's a tendency of wanting happy endings, but sometimes one just have the option of letting a story to slap you in the damn face.
I really wouldn't like Ellie to die in the end though, because Joel (and Tess) sacrificed so much for her to keep on living, even if I have the suspicion that such would be her only remaining purpose, especially after the events of the second game. What other purpose in life would she have?
No matter what, I hope the story continues. Wouldn't like the series to experience a similar fate to Dinocrisis. Such a shame what Capcom did with it.
Not me just wanting a prequel for the first game that just show what Joel and Tommy went through during the early stages of the pandemic😭

Imagine that one of your loved ones got murdered in cold blood. Wouldn’t you want revenge and kill the person who killed what meant most to you? Wouldn’t you want to do it no matter what? Put your self in Abby’s place and in Abby’s mindset in that situation.
First thing I want to say just to be clear, I'm not a raging Abby hater and I understand why she would do what she did. But:
Joel didn't murder him in cold blood, his choice was morally ambiguous and the video talks about it in 22:52 why. Plus the doctor didn't even want to talk about it, he was very much ready to kill a child for the "greater good" and pulled out a knife. I wonder what would happen if that didn't work, or if it was Abby and he killed her for nothing. The person who murdered in cold blood was Abby and she doesn't even regret that or show any understanding. I was waiting for her to question the murder, but that didn't happen. Meanwhile, Ellie is very traumatized after Nora or Mel.
I think it would be an interesting theme to explore for Abby to understand why Joel saved Ellie. She has Lev now and protects him, so that could make her think about it.
The torture, golf club and using a tourniquet even made her fruends not like her anymore.

Revenge is a fool's game. I'd wanna do it if I was given the opportunity but I wouldn't seek it out. Especially if it meant traveling through multiple post-apocalyptic zombie ravaged states.

Pt 3 will begin with Abby and Lev finding the fireflies who are in contact with a firefly cell from South America who has the oriiginal Patient 0 who is infected and contagious but not turned or growing fungus from their body. One of the doctors working their finds out that by combining both Ellie’s and patient 0’s dna a cure can be made but only if they are alive. This will take us to back to pt 1 where Joel saving Ellie from the surgery actually saved the worlds only hope for a cure.
Part 2 set the bar too high in every category. It's hard to surpass this game with another sequel, but hey, this is the same narrative people had in 2013 (the release of tlou1)
Don’t think it set the bar too high I think it’s a really good game but it’s not as good as the first game. Like the first game was a 10 and the second game was an 8 to 8.5

Ellie won't have to look for the Fireflies because when Abby tells them the girl who is immune is alive and well, they're gonna come find her.
That was Ellie's biggest mistake, I'm not sure Abby had any clue Ellie was the girl who was immune but Ellie blurted it out completely misunderstanding why Abby was after Joel and forgetting what Joel told her about not letting anyone know.

I do think a pt3 where we see Ellie become a Joel protector, with an immune child somehow that finally lets her see and understand what Joel had to do, where she must determine a similar but different choice to sacrifice herself or another to potentially save the world might work. Maybe we even get some root cause of immunity by discovering Anna herself was immune, or even bitten right before birth. There is probably a better grounded approach but, if we want ‘Joel’ in this, than I think we need Ellie to take on a similar kind of role. That or we get Joel flashbacks from the 20 year gap. I don’t see how this works without him in some fashion as Neil has said this is both of their stories. If we get a pt3 to close this out it would be criminal to exclude Joel and gave him still be present in some form
When the HBO series confirmed Ellie's immunity reason, it was a bite right before birth.
I know it might be dumb, but I'd love to see one of the cannibals from David's Town in part 3,maybe someone who escaped Ellie and Joel's killing rampage

I would imagine Ellie would be the main character and maybe a few segments as Dina. I would also imagine a little segment were you play as JJ when he’s a little kid (don’t know how it will work) and then at the end have either a few moments we’re you play as an older JJ or a little cinematic that hints that JJ will be the 4ths (if there is one) main character. Also Joel’s decision was absolutely right, how you might ask? Well the infection is a fungus, specifically The fungus in game is a real world fungus that acts somewhat similar to the game. The thing is even in our world of the world that isn’t in ruins there is no cure to a fungus, So I highly doubt that some doctors in the post apocalypse could make one
I think tommy will become unhinged he has brain damage from the bullet and his rage for abby if he can walk however he could go and it would make sense but he'd become out of Ellie's control once he and Abby meet up.
I think Diana isn't going to have forgiven Ellie she means what she says I few years isn't enough for her to heal from the heartbreak she's had her baby daddy wasn't long dead before Ellie left her on her guilt ridden revenge quest so no I do not think nor should Diana just allow Ellie back in there should be tension and frankly ellie being as upset as joel was by the way Diana now treats her it would even be a mirror to how Ellie treated Joel for lying to her but in Ellie's case it's heart break + family betrayal. Diana seems to have the healthy boundries and expectations between the two of them.
We also have the possiblity Abby is haunted by the Ellie of the beach and has some ptsd from that as an under current to their interactions stalling things or making things impossible as Abby will have to burry that phantom version or refight Ellie. Yet considering how well Abby was healing with Lev I think she'll choose to burry ghost Ellie but will need time.
Yeah the characters and emotions they feel are really complex (and real), so I totally see where you're coming from. It's going to be tough for everyone to heal from the events of Part II and we'll def see some difficult issues and tension between the characters

How P3 should play out :) - Part 3 picks up with Abby and Lev in Catalina island regrouping with the fireflies. Some time has passed and the fireflies are still looking for a cure. After not finding one, for a couple of years, Lev convinces Abby to go after Ellie and bring her back to finish what her dad once set out to do. Abby embarks on the journey with Lev. Upon arriving in Jackson, Abby finds out that Ellie is long gone and no one has heard from her in a while. Abby talks to Dina, who by now has moved on. Dina gives her some clues on where Ellie could be. Abby and Lev take off still looking for Ellie. Cut to Ellie, now living like a recluse in the forest, hunting and surviving without a purpose. She still misses Joel and Dina and everybody else, but has regaled herself to a life of loneliness. Throughout both their stories, there are new antagonists, new factions and new zombie mutations that they have to deal with. Tommy meanwhile is still hunting for Abby. Somewhere in the search, Tommy runs into them and Lev ends up killing Tommy. P3 could conclude with Abby finding Ellie and convincing her to be the cure. Ellie finally sacrifices herself, finally giving her life the purpose she always dreamed of.

I think a good idea for part 3 would be that JJ sneaks out of jackson with a friend and just like ellie and riley, JJ is immune to the cordyceps fungus.
Man i hope we get part 3 before the next uncharted, even though i like uncharted more, im too invested in the story
Omg it’s like he described my current life in a video game way. It true that love alone can’t solve all my problems.
Watching this had me brainstorming possible endings.
Worst: Leave the ending to interpretation of the player. Ellie POV laying on operating table looking up at the bright light above her symbolizing the firefly slogan. Singing to herself in her head as the screen slowly fades to black as they put her under. Pull a Sopranos and after 10 seconds of just a black screen roll credits.
Not as bad and is happier - Same thing only some credits roll then we get to see the world being restored. Epilogue gameplay as Dina's child a few years later. Show Ellie and Joel gravestones side by side and fireflies around them.
A copout ending would be finding another immune person who is dying of natural causes (cancer?) And they are used to find cure. Or even a fake out, Ellie is on table and gets put under. After a pause she wakes up. Doctors say they were able to get what they needed without killing her. They find cure and happily ever after.
Ellie is dying - insert reason. Makes it easier to handle because she would be dying anyway.
This is not a feel-good game. I think Ellie will be sacrificed or her body will be damaged and confined to the point where even if she lives won't be able to continue running around the world. A nice way to end her story without killing her off.
They could go really dark. Ellie sacrifices herself and they still can't find a cure. Or finding the cure only leads to the last of the humans fighting over it and the humans extinct themselves. Last shot in the game is the planet thriving again without humans.

Ellie: Not in Jackson. Sees horrible things, and the world is getting worse. Seeks fireflies as her gift from Joel has been squandered by her hatred. Wants her life to mean something.
Abby: Fucked up, but wants to finish what her dad started. Possible someone close is turned. Seeks Ellie, not for selfish or vengeful reasons. Might end up protecting Ellie from those wanting to kill her.
Lev: Spiritual guide in Catalina practicing as a pure seraphite with no hatred or enemies. Wants to help humanity.
Tommy: Alcoholic holed up in Joel's old house guilt ridden over pushing Ellie too hard to avenge Joel. Visited by Ellie on return to Jackson. Has feud over her urge to sacrifice herself. Ellie says Joel allowed her to make her own decision, and that's what she's doing.
Jackson: Resources are dwindling in rest of world. Territorial wars and encroaching enemies could doom the town. Ellie might need to save Dina and JJ.
Catalina: Tolerance-ville.
Music: Plays steel guitar. Homemade mods to let her fingers reach the strings.
Infected: Dangerous evolution in disease might be final incentive to seek a cure.
Fates: Ellie gives herself to humanity. Abby is killed protecting Ellie (haters of LOU2 will rejoice). Lev is turned. Dina is kidnapped to obtain Ellie and eventually killed by bad people. Tommy in same situation as Joel at end of first game, but allows surgery. JJ lives.
Joel: Tommy might recount a story to Ellie that she never knew that results in a flashback. Maybe "visions" where Ellie speaks to Joel. Who the hell knows?
For me I believe that tlou3 will take place 10 to 15 years later either lev or JJ leaves to find something or someone lev or JJ will find a new fraction the crows and or thunderbird
Lev or jj will try to find a doctor to help dina, Ellie or Abby
It'd be a really interesting dynamic to see JJ (or Lev) having to deal with things! I definitely thought about this happening since there's a lot that the next game could do if they decide to do that

I think that they should do a DLC that shows the characters growth and character changes overall. This could include how Joel became more layed back and trusting. I also think an interesting and unsettling scene would be Ellie getting that chemical burn, whether she does it herself or with Joel, Tommy and maybe Maria.
The chemical burn was actually the infected bite mark (im pretty sure)

While I do have my own predictions on how the game will go... I think that this video and that you've talked about are explained well. And I do hope like many of us, we get the next game soon, to see if our predictions were possibly right... And also to see how Neil Druckmann creates another leans for us to see more in-depth into his story of The Last of Us.

Maria, Tommy, Dina and Abby know about her immunity, actually (Ellie told her when she killed Jesse). Since Tommy is partially crippled (a blind eye and a crippled leg), it would be very difficult to explain him back on the battlefield. Anyway, it seems very easy to me that Ellie can be the "mentor" of a new young character (maybe JJ, if Dina dies or is in danger). And Rattlers can be the main antagonist. And maybe something that "justifies" Joel's decision can happen, like a new immune person or new medical opinion saying she doesn't need to die.
BUT the main point for me is: Abby and a lot of other people - the prisoners released from the Rattlers, if they survived - know who Ellie is and about her immunity. It will be interesting to know what Abby will do with this knowledge, once she is back in the Fireflies.
Always hated Dina, shes the kind of person who always jokes away everything serious and cant relate to what other people are feeling. The fact she left Ellie while she was suffering from PTSD is one of the worst things you can do to someone your suppose to love.
Dinas jokes are the reason Ellie doesn't go sicko mode in day 1. Ellie at that point was a like a drug addict. U can't support someone who always relapses. Dina for the whole game has been doing stuff for Ellie and now one time she gets fed up, she's the evil person
Man, what a masterpiece Part 2 is. Tbh, there's no way Part 3 wont come out. And it will probably wont take as long as Part 2 since pretty much they're gonna use the same engine and assets. I mean, its brand new. My guess is 2024-2025. And since Part 2 was better than Part 1 in every way, i hope Part 3 will surpass both of them. And they better keep papa Joel in the game. In form of memories/flashbacks.
Give it a year or two and people will ask themselves "Why did i hate on Part 2?" just like Dunkey said. I mean, lets hope those who hate on it ACTUALLY play it =))))) There arent many that hate it but still (compared to those who love it). You cant please everyone and you should never try to. And remember this: its THEIR game. Naughty Dog's. No one is forcing you to play it or like it. Stop acting like entitled babies throwing a tantrum.
Do you think i didnt hate Abby in my first playthrough? Oh boy... But on my second i understood her and my hate for her just went ''poof'' She had all the right to do what she did. As we all would in her place. Same goes for Joel with what he did. This is what i love about TLOU2, it messes with you moral compass. There's always two sides of the coin my dear friends. Always. I know its hard to be unbiased and im not saying that people who didnt understand the moral of the story are stupid, but they do lack emotional maturity in my opinion.
I really hope Part 3 will bring peace and that the minority of haters will join the rest of us and be satisfied with how the series will end. That is ofc, if they stop at TLOU3. Cuz i've noticed a pattern with ND. They really like the number 4.
so i just finished this fantastic game a few hours ago,the ending was sad and left me quite hanging to what happened to ellie and abby,i really hope they make a part 3 to this,game felt incomplete with that ending.

How cool would it be if naughty dog announced it by showing someone in a jacket, moving low on the ground. It almost looks like a hunter, they’re moving crawling forward, you see them dragging them self with one hand. seems fine, then other hand is revealed and there’s 3 missing fingers. They stand up, pull the hood down and it reveals an ellie that has aged by 7 more years, found a group of hunters to survive with and it’s run by tommy. They’ve been looking for dina and her kid, eventually they could find dina. But not aj, to there knowledge they have no clue where he is because dina was attacked and had to hide from clickers drawn in by gunshots, while the intruders took aj. Ellie goes to find aj, wreaking havoc like she once did, it reminds her of a past that meant nothing. She grabs his teddy bear, straps it on her backpack and heads out to find him. Ellie infiltrates a camp that a druggie nearby at a fireplace told her about, apparently a young boy was there. For a moment she thought about her recklessness, the pain death brings. And the game gives you the option to use a tranquilizer gun, this eventually ties in to a recruiting system and you can tell tommy to send someone out to pick him up as he might be useful at the camp. Ellie heads in, three guys are ahead. She grabs one, points a knife at the others and says “I don’t want to hurt you! But there’s a boy here and I have a missing son, take me to him now fuckhead!” They walk through the hallways, it looks cramped. Eventually they lead her to a bunk, she sees a boy, “aj?” The boy looks up from the darkness. It’s lev, ellie has anxiety attack ends up fainting. When you come to, you’re not restrained, you’re in bed and welcomed by Abby. She thanks you for not killing anyone, Ellie still in a state of shock can barley even mumble words. A doctor comes in, “take these”. An anxiety medication, that Ellie will have to find and manage as the game goes on. Ellie tries to get up and leave, but abby stops her and exclaims she wants to help her, excluding the past and looking toward the future.
Your theory is REALLY good!
While Naughty Dog might not go exactly follow your small details, I'm pretty sure the main part will be the same:
Ellie and Tommy will go look for the fireflies, Tommy will forgive Abby for what she did after hearing her side of the story, just like Ellie did.
Togheter with her and the fireflies they will be able to make a cure, with or without Ellie dying, it would both make sense to the story.
This is the happy ending, and I'm pretty sure it will be the one.
The last of us part 3 will be about redemption and forgiveness, and it would have no sense to have a bad ending, with major deaths that would just make us even more sad.
But anyway, whatever Naughty Dog chooses to do, it will be an amazing game, that will immerse us into their world just like we were there, it will make us cry, and again, it will be a masterpiece.
I hope the good ending will happen, but we never know.
The only thing that we know is that in order to experience this new masterpiece, we will have to wait way too much time than how much we would like to.

New infected type: screecher clicker like armored infected that when critically hit falls to the ground and screeches after some time drawing nearby infected to the region if not eliminated before screeching
New location: California is good, it would be cool to see a desert scenario where cover, resources and shelter is scarce, and it would amplify the new infected type mentioned above in bigger open scapes
