I mean, if this can play Fallout 4, I don't see why later 8XX devices couldn't run certain XP/Vista/7 era games. I have a OP 7Pro with a Kishi, I'll have to try a couple games I have in mind. Might have to make quick video on it working. I'll get back with you on that.
Unfortunately newer snapdragon devices don't have great drivers ATM so older chips can play more games
use exagear for those games winlator and mobox is designed for newer games than games from xp/vista/7 era
well, just hold patience until the new ones to roll out and iron all the issues

Tried this with my note 10 loving it so far gonna try it with DEX next used DXVK instead and got way better performance in Fallout 3.

@@animeman87 no just the Note 10 they have the same chip except the note 10 plus has 12GB of ram instead of 8GB.

Ok well obviously I'm not going to run Fallout 4 on my phone, but I have tons of GOG games that'll likely play better on my device that I can try. This sound amazing. I'm super excited to try this out and get some legit games running without the issues that Android often gives me with lack of dev support.
6:16 ETA you should leave the CPU 0 box unticked next time as it makes it easier for the Android system to run while your playing a game or whatever you do with it. Just so your device has some RAM left for itself. It actually helps a lot especially on less powerful devices

More like Docker - it doesn't really run Windows on the system, but rather some very small parts of it.
@@user-qy2wf2lt6v Nah. While it does have containers just like Docker, it's more like that it's basically container running Linux running Wine. So there is probably quite lot of amount of games that do work, but with varied success, just like in Linux.

Look into "SideQuestVR"'s list of game ports for what can be sideloaded right now onto the Quest 3 etc. It's hard to wait until Christmas to treat myself one of those (512gb model) as a gift.

This makes me wonder if with Windows on ARM getting better that ARM powered steam deck type devices would work well and have their own advantages. Like an Nvidia SoC made for these types of devices/laptops that also provides excellent battery life.
I wonder if we'll ever seen an SBC like the Raspberry Pi with a higher end Snapdragon. Would make for some pretty awesome machines
I already bought it on Steam. I've made the mistake of buying the same game twice, twice. Sometimes, i really hate Epic.
thanks so much for mentioning the snapdragon 8 gen 3 is not yet compatible, I've seen some misleading information online where some people got it working but I had no luck on my red magic 9 pro

@@juanmonterrubio6713 mine does nothing, it remains in the winlator desktop and is responsive but nothing loads and no setup window opens.
I have tested with: resident evil 7, the witcher 3, little Nightmare it runs very stable 30fps with sd8 gen1

Gotta find a USB thing that allows for a USB or sd card. because the red magic phone i got doesn't have a external storage. And be able to fit a attachable controller.
If you look up USB-C/USB3.0 flash drive with SD card reader there are quite a few options to check out. I've seen some that support both SD and microSD cards

need to find one that is a expansion of the phone body with the USB on the top or button. so i can put one of those attachable controllers and still be able to use the storage. would need 2 usb slots then.

I suppose just use a regular Xbox controller.

this is pretty cool. for me its pretty useless as I have a steam deck. but its cool to have the option to play on a tablet or phone. enjoyed the video tho :D
Winlator looks like it's got lots of potential if you know what you're doing.
Well if they port proton from steam, it'll be be a game changer.
It cannot run Unity games at all so that makes it useless for me.
So theres a ton of mods to improve preformance for f04, but a big start is the compressed vanilla textures mod

So is the reason you don't use a drm version like steam copies because it doesn't have the capability to use wifi, or just to improve performance, or is it both?
Could you please try og windows skyrim ? Should be slightly less demanding than fallout 4 .. im not expecting 60 fps but maybe locked 30 with some enhancement mods like lighting etc ..
or you could download the apk plus the game and try it yourself... smh

I guess I should clarify, winlator runs, but when I try to run the offline backup installer for gog version of Fallout 3 it does nothing when I click it. Then the app freezes. Same for New Vegas and Oblivion. If I transfer all the files from the installed version on my laptop to the sd8g3 phone I'm trying to play it on, and make a shortcut to the exe file it boots up to a black screen. Hope this helps somebody figure this out. I've tried all the settings. Closest I've gotten was using and older version of winlator. I got oblivion running but the touch controls wouldn't work. Hopefully it's just a matter of time before these issues are sorted out.@@laminnabam2299

The game is not modified in any way. It is the same as if you were playing it on a PC.

Since similar software on Mac (Crossover) allows you to do so, there’s a chance it may run. But it’s only a chance - you can just try and see if it works. Just make sure your version doesn’t contain complicated activation protocols.

I have installed Oblivion on my poco F5 pro with SD 8 gen 1+ and it work great, I tried dagger fall on a Poco X3 pro but got stuck on the installer, is great to see game channel cover this

So, I have been a console gamer since day one but recently dabbled into PC gaming and I absolutely love G.O.G policy on DRM. I plan on supporting them moving forward, do they have all the PC games in their store, absolutely not but then again, I have no intentions of buying or trying out all the games out there just the ones I would like to experience.
Is it advisable to buy an ODIN2 Max with 16GB of RAM now that apps such as Winlator are steadily maturing or would a Pro 12GB model suffice? I'm well aware that 12GB is overkill just for native Android usage, thoughts on this everybody

i am running on my odin2 8gversion . most scene can achieve 50+ fps, but cpu reach 83degrees hot.....i limite fps to 40 and temperature drop to 70, super nice. ... control pad is also native , no inputbridge and xinputbridge needed..........so happy

@@Vitamina-C no neea at all.use the builtin wine 8.0.2. make sure odin2 controller is set as xinput, trigger as digital, fallout4 ingame setting with controller on. Launch fallout4.exe, and you have a native controller now!!! LT and RT can not be hold when moving L/R stick(maybe bug? i already report these to odin official), you can swap LT/LB and RT/RB function in game setting.

@@ramadhan2335Snap dragon will literally snap if it reaches about 45 degrees Celsius, Mediatek can just chill on 50-55 degrees Celsius and it'll still run as nothing happened... Snapdragon just don't likes heat at all..

nah, this is a decade old game and it still struggles to run good enough at lowest possible settings. 5yrs from now we will be able to at best run some 2019 games
@@jakoick1298 The Snapdragon X Elite can already run Baldur's Gate 3 at roughly 30 FPS according to early demos in Windows on ARM, and 5 years is a lifetime in computer tech.

Tried to download fallout 3, i used gog but when it finished installing and i launched it all it did was open for a split second then close again, any way of fixing this?

issue i have installing a small game (megaman battle network collection) is that it always freezes up around 70% of the install. any ideas?
copy the fully installed PC over the 70% frozen version, maybe just maybe the remaining 30% is just in the game's directory and not in other places and it might work, you do need some luck on your side though.
@marceloxtree tried that game launches and instantly closes. So something isn't allowing it to get booted properly. Not sure if there's like a winlator support group or anything or if the game I'm trying to run is "too new" for the software

I keep getting an error..I'm trying an older game, NFS The Run. I get the error "a debugger has been found running in your system. Please, unload it from memory and restart your program."
Sound similar to games that refuse to launch if you have Cheat Engine running in the background, like Mortal Kombat 11, the solution was a hacked replacement for the game's executable file. Sooo, good luck? Maybe a cracked version of the game might be the next thing to try if there is no replacement exe file.

What about the temperature and the battery life?
if it's anything like the switch emulator suyu and yuzu, then expect your phone to be too hot to hold, get a controller that the phone latches onto or place the phone on a stand and play it without touching the phone. Doing that I played over 8 hours in one sitting of Dragon Quest XI S on my samsung phone, plus many other multi-hour gaming sessions, all with a much too hot to hold smartphone. Having a blast playing the switch version of Dragon Quest X Offline in fan translated English (relax, I bought the retail copy of both DQ games on steam and switch, I pay for what I play...if it is still being sold of course.)

Really well? He didn't invent Winlator. It has been high profile for like 2 years now. There's another emulator, Mobox with better performance. Winlator is just easy to showcase for normies. Mobox runs GTA V better for one. Stuff like Devil May Cry 5, the older COD and Battlefield titles etc
It can run new AAA games games but only on snap 8 gen 3 with 20-30 fps as of now
I did this with a fold 5 and it is running like trash, opening a folder the folders load crazy slow and nothing is working right.
If it isn't a snapdragon it won't run that well
