This edition of TTTT (Garry Moore/Joe G.) was the best and so few eps are on YT.
It's always great to see Baroness Maria. I would have had to disqualify myself.

    I LOVE the three Maria's.
Whilst I knew in advance which was the real one, I loved how the three women flummoxed the panel.
I know it wasn't pre-planned, it worked out beautifully (the game-play - not the final guessing).
I love TTTT ('4T's), esp the Gary Moore and Joe Garagiola ones (I was on it once when Mr. Moore was hosting (who I am, what I did - or, perhaps, what the 'real' person 'did' is/are irrelevant, suffice it to say I was very young).
Mr. Moore was such a gentleman, and even though I was so young, I used to watch it with my nanny, and STILL love watching these and trying to figure out who IS TELLING THE TRUTH;>

Bill Wendell announcing and Joe Garagiola hosting at NBC 30 Rock. A few years earlier they teamed up on a monster-sized set at Studio 8H on "$ale of the Century." Joe had succeeded original host Jack Kelly.

the musical was not a documentary. "Based on" does not mean follows the story exactly, never has, never will.

Maria Von Trapp! What a treat! But the ghost registry was quite interesting and I picked right on that. Not only was number 3 knowledgeable and #1 not a good bluffer at all but I doubted the Federal government is spending our tax dollars on such a thing and immediately pegged him for a lawyer before the reveal. He just talked like a lawyer. Part of the problem is science is snobbish about such phenoma and won't study it. Yes, a good deal of so called ghosts are halluncinations and outright lying but some ghost sightings are genuine and I've long thought the two types existed myself - since living for five years in a haunted 100 year old house as a child.
I encountered several ghosts there of both types and to answer Peggy's question that got interrupted - yes, animals can be ghosts too. I saw a dog and a horse and later found out about a barn fire across the street decades earlier that killed several horses, not just the one that ran past my ground floor bedroom window to disappear as it ran into (not up) a small hill that had been added since behind our house and years later working in a steno pool learned of the dog that died where I saw it in the house, even got to see a photo because a coworker's relatives lived there about 10 years before us and owned the dog and, yes, they too saw things. A cat that was my constant companion and comforter died while we lived there and the night following her death, she came back to say good-bye. No sight - just sound and touch. She walked around the room purring - you could look right at the sound lights on and there was nothing there so not one of our other cats - then jumped up on my bed and curled up against my leg as she oftened did then faded away as she went to sleep. I cherish that farewell still half a century later. RIP, Maple. I know you still watch over me.
My but I'd love to have a chat with that dude!

But it's possible the panel members on here did NOT see that episode of What's My Line so no harm done. Remember the panel had to guess who she was NOT the audience.

i guessed you missed the point. no one expects to see a "documentary". i guess some of us don't like to have our emotions manipulated.

The purpose of all entertainment is to manipulate emotions.

In real life..The Real Baroness:Maria Von Trapp was a mean, controlling and abusive monster..who forced her step children into a musical career and she made them work constantly on their farm(which was more like a summer camp for visiting guests)in Vermont..and she never allowed them to have a social life with anyone..outside of the family. This info is from The "Biography"documentary about the family:"The Von Trapp Family Singers".

With respect, Kitty is beyond unbearable and Peggy is not far behind

this was a dumb idea from the producers. she had already been on what's my line and was pretty well known publicly. plus the picture they showed looked exactly like her.
the fact is the movie was a bunch of lies- they did not escape up a mountain from the nazis. they took a train thru the alps as they had diplomatic passports. plus, she was coerced into marrying the captain only because of her affection for the kids.
