I think it’s a shame how most people nowadays think of tears for fears as a two man band and ignore the contributions made by Ian Stanley and Manny Elias, Ian Stanley co-wrote their two biggest hits: Shout and Everybody wants to rule the world.
Exactly. Actually ian make most of the best beats of the keyboard. I love when TFF were the 4. Dont get me wrong. I love Seeds of love, elemental and more but i really enjoy a lot watching the full original band. Curt, Roland, Ian and Manny
Ian made a huge input during this period musically and provided much of the technical side and the studio as well. Mentioned many times in the latest Classical Albums Tears For Fears Documentary.
I like how he talks to all the band members pretty much equally. So many interviewers only interview the lead singer and act like no one else has a part in the band. This is refreshing
While criminally too short, i loved that Dick Clark focused on questions about the recording process and not goofy stuff like their fans, or being famous, or other goofy shit they used to ask back then.
Totally Love Tears for Fears. I notice how they were a little more shy when they released their first album the Hurting but when the Big Chair came out, they put on a little edge. 😎
You never hear it anymore. You might hear Head Over Heels and Shout on certain stations. They have so MANY beautiful songs, "Watch me bleed" and "Start of the breakdown" are a couple favorites of mine too..
I saw them performing last July during the tour they co-headlined with Hall & Oates (another band I love) and OMG, they were TIGHT AS HELL!!! I came away truly awed by their and H&O's performances and I must've screamed my head off when they played "Mad World", which I have loved for at least 2/3 of my life. And then it turned out Roland lost his wife that summer... my goodness, what a pillar of strength he is! BTW, on a totally shallow note, I always had a mad crush on Roland, but on that night it was Curt who looked AMAZING.
TFF are a great funkin band...saw Roland/Curt and Co in 1985 in DC. They mighta lost popularity here in the US...but the band has ALWAYS been in consistent thruout. Sowing the Seedsw of Love
They didn't lose popularity!! We just didnt know they were still touring since 2004. I hope they fire their promotions people. They only played west coast USA.... After Hall and Oates, people realized that they were actually ALIVE and still playing good music together and the demand went up. They are currently playing Europe this year February 2019!!!!!😍
Manny and Ian are SO IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He wrote all of Listen sans the lyrics

..and he did this EVERY time. Dick Clark was the best.
Dick Clark was very warm to his guests.
Manny and Ian!!!!
Totally, my only concern is him pulling the mic away before they can finish their thought
From what I heard every band had a very positive experience with Dick Clark.
Ian always looked so cool when he played with them. Love that guy
Me too! Pivotal roll in their sucess!
I loved Ian Stanley in their official video for “Everybody Wants To Rule The World”. He was so attractive and sexy looking.
@@dashoverton1963 I love him in the Head Over Heals video. Coolest synthesizer solo ever. That's my favorite video of all time.
Where is Ian now?
@@victorianmadonna I don't think he performs with any bands anymore. He produces bands and solo artists since the late 90s though.

The best group of the world.
Orzabal's voice is strong and beautiful ❤

one of my all time fav 80s groups and i still listen to them regularly. "Mothers talk" was a great tune and you almost never hear it anymore.

Haha most people didn't know what "mixing" was. Tears for fears was wayyy ahead of it's time for sure.
Dick Clark is a class act and so knowledgeable
I've only ever watched American Bandstand on RUclips but the Interviews are always excellent - Dick Clark was a great host
wish i was still in the mid 80s....it was the BEST! TFF working hour...
Yessssss!!! If we could turn back time!!
Super talented and cute ❤❤
Dick Clark was a class act.
Well mannered guys. Lots of bands had real attitude problems being interviewed back then.
"Really?"
Curt is so innocent xD

DICK CLARK OH WOW WHAT A GOOD INTERVIEWER
Dick Clark looked just as same during his final days as he is looking in front of Roland and Curt who are getting and looking much older now in 2020.

I wish they were young again

Does anyone know if Ian Stanley and Manny are still playing music?
4:34
what year was this ?
1985
Saturday, March 30th, 1985, to be exact.
Does anyone know what kind of guitar Roland has here?
The drummer Manny resembles Simon Cowell.freaky😮
I wonder if they have their performance pieces here? I'd really like to remember what songs they performed here. :(
Roland kinda sounds like Robert Smith to me lol
I got the same interview vibe of “In Da Haus!” ruclips.net/video/thiibCXxNvQ/видео.htmlsi=MhteOh0GHwg3Wd64
