My absolute fav gym leader theme x3 It's great! I don't think it's forgettable at all, I love battling the gym leaders just to hear it, and usually put this or Korrina's remix in wifi battles.
Her eyes do look odd, especially compared to almost everyone else's eyes in the game. Maybe they were to show that she's not native to Kalos? They say Valerie hails from Johto, if Im right. Or maybe she's possessed? Anyway, the rest of her design is pretty awesome, if you ask me.
I'll admit, this song took some time to warm up to. But once it did, now I think this song is great! It just tells you not to give up! "You can do it! Just keep going!"
I love this song, favorite battle theme in the game. I was just disappointed by the role the gym leaders played in this game. They went from being actual heroes in BW to what they were in XY. Kalos era was such a step backwards from Unova era the two should honestly be switched
What was SoulSilver's theme again? I forgot.. Hmm.. maybe it wasn't that good. I can't remember Red and Blue's leader music either. Says enough about the games I suppose. I can, however, remember Hoenn and Unova's music! Those were AWESOME.
I like it. Past Gym Leader battle themes have all been about the fighting and the emotions of trainer and Pokemon alike, but Gen 6 went a different route, showing the player that the battle will be tough, but encouraging them, telling them not to give up and that they can succeed.
I agree that x and y was not the best Pokémon game ever, but it wasn't the worst either. I understand the mistakes because it was their first 3D Pokémon game. But x and y is still my number one favorite Pokémon game because, it was the first Pokémon game I ever played. I know its bad to not have played older Pokémon games because I wasn't interested at the time, but that's why I loved x and y because x and y got me into Pokémon, I also started watching anime more as well. Also I played a little bit of Unova and I am trying to get Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire to experience Hoenn. So x and y is memorable to me 😊.
For all the gym themes I've heard so far and so for me, this one's the coolest. Makes me fired up while battling. I guess I should add this on my list while hitting weights on gym lol
To all the people calling the game "easy" it was originally intended for all ages, but if you want a challenge. Restart the game, turn exp share OFF then beat the whole game without it. or do those extreme Nuzlocke runs
Yup,definitely trying that after the Bank has been activated, can't afford to lose all hard work, especially that I don't have 3ds friends and all my decent pokemon(Scizor,Gengar,Alakazam)Has decent IV and good natures.Tried all regions with nuzlocke, all accomplished. Can't say I did it easily though.Have you tried a Nuzlocke run on this version?
I haven't been using exp. share, still easy. That might be because I'm used to going through the whole game with just my starter though lol. Yeah I catch as many pokemon as I can, but the others are really just there to revive my Delphox if it faints :3
It is too easy... i played the whole game trough with no EXP share, and the switch option turned to SET, the thing is i always play lot's of competitive matches online, and plan my pokemon team ahead, it's a no brainer once you get the hang of it, for the sake of it. BW and BW2 where MUCH harder than these 2 games, X and Y are the best games so far, but are also the easiest ones, and the gym leaders and Elite four are just a plain joke to any experimented trainer out there. i found normal trainers trying to do more advanced strategies and having more powerful and balanced pokemon teams than these leaders. that's why people complain the game it's easy.
Personally I LOVE this theme, it's my second favorite after the original R/B/Y gym leader battle theme. It doesn't try to be the original, it has its own identity that stands out. The identity is an electronica song that says "Hang in there, you can do it! Don't give up! This is the moment of YOUR evolution!". The guitar accompaniment almost seems to be quietly cheering you on too.
Glad you like it, but I don't think other themes are trying to be the gen 1 gym battle theme, they're just trying to keep the same hype that the first one did
Anyone else feel like some of these gym leaders aren't as memorable as earlier generations? I mean, I felt some of them like Ramos and Olympia were just there and didn't have any traits that were memorable. In fact, many characters in X and Y were pretty forgettable.
the whole game is not as memorable as both previous and later generations. In fact, the protagonists are virtually the only memorable thing about this game (because you can modify them and they are not 11 xD)
DiegoRaist, have you forgotten Brock, Misty, Lt. Surge, Koga, Blaine, or Giovanni? What about Brawly, Wattson, Flannery, Norman, Tate/Liza, and Wallace?
Out of all the Gym battle themes (Gen 1-6). This one, by far, is the most Intense. In fact. The battle themes in X and Y were some of the most intense themes I've ever heard
When I first battled Viola and this music started playing, my jaw hit the floor. This was the greatest Gym Leader music I've heard in all of the games.
Go is a horrible abomination of mankind that can't even Pokémon. Ace Trainer Heinz would like to battle! Ace Trainer Heinz sent out Solgaleo and Lunala!
Ahhh, my first pokemon game. I loved it and still come back to play it every year. Man did this game get me hooked into the franchise, and this music was so good!
Not me but now I will search for the Pokémon GO soundtrack. I stopped playing it in January after pandemic came. No Pokéstops neither gyms at home, my biggest fun of the game was battling gyms and doing the raids.
@@alinepiroutek8932 Those are not Gyms, you utter gombeen. Gyms cannot actually be taken over. They are led by a person or multiple people who usually use a specific type. And you usually have to go through a puzzle and/or at least one Trainer. Oh, and you cannot dodge. It's not the anime, for crying out loud.
This was literally the only gym battle theme out of all the pokemon games that made me want to look it up after hearing it for the very first time, it hyped me up throughout each battle~
I've been playing Pokemon since it came out, and I can honestly say one of my most memorable moments was that first gym battle against Viola. First 3DS Pokemon game (Other than Gates to Infinity), and we all didn't know what to expect. Viola had a good first gym leader design in my opinion, and was likable as a character. My absolute fav gym leader theme x3 It's great! I don't think it's forgettable at all, I love battling the gym leaders just to hear it, and usually put this or Korrina's remix in wifi battles.
My favorite it's this theme for online battles 😃😃😃
Ross Gallegos I usually use this and VS Yve/Xer/Zyg
Eh personally it's one of my least favourites
this theme is lowkey nostalgic now.
I miss megas
edit 27/2/2024: WE R SO BACK
Same. Megas were such a good addition to the games.
The Pokemon GO music sounds kinda similar
Yea its a remix of this song!
+Vincent Berger
No, Pokemon Go's music is based off Gen 1's music.
I wonder why
+Goliath E-1 No, just the pokemon are from Kanto, the background music is clearly a remix of this track.
True :0
Valerie's eyes gave me nightmares
I'm guessing she's the result of what happens when a pokemon mates with a human. That sylveon she uses, yea, thats her father.
Likewise.
tao master Waka whet.
She's a designer, and also wants to be a pokemon. So maybe she put something in her eyes or something?
This theme is honestly good enough to be a champion's theme
I've always thought it was more fitting in that context in all honesty.
You're right, but I full appreciate how they put this theme for each of the gym leaders
Easily.
But Gamefreak being Gamefreak of course give Us Duplo gym leaders. 😁
Dub this over Cynthia and you might not be at low hp
It should be our national anthem!!
I'll admit, this song took some time to warm up to. But once it did, now I think this song is great! It just tells you not to give up! "You can do it! Just keep going!"
SeikoDidNothingWrong yeah ! 😍😍😍😍😉
I did not expect to find a comment from 2014 that actually brings back nostalgia
When I first heard this track when I got Y my first thought was "Shit just got real"
I love this song, favorite battle theme in the game. I was just disappointed by the role the gym leaders played in this game. They went from being actual heroes in BW to what they were in XY. Kalos era was such a step backwards from Unova era the two should honestly be switched
The Kalos gym leaders are pushovers
It's because they're French lol jk
Kek.
//at least they aren't Italian (hetalia reference)
+Clout Gang And it's so ironic, since the XY and XYZ anime has the best story ever.
And did anyone else notice that the clock on Valerie's Gym has thirteen Roman numerals rather than twelve?
I love this theme.
It would have fit better if the gyms were actually hard.
💯
@@netweed09if Pokémon Z ever does get its chance to shine again I hope it’s their chance to do it better
Kalos. It's been 3000 years
I'll give X/Y credit. Their gym leader theme is absolutely bitchin'. :D
Soul Silver/ Heart Gold still has better theme
DrViiisTaR No, but that theme is awesome too.
What was SoulSilver's theme again?
I forgot.. Hmm.. maybe it wasn't that good. I can't remember Red and Blue's leader music either. Says enough about the games I suppose. I can, however, remember Hoenn and Unova's music! Those were AWESOME.
@@DrViiisTaR Gym leader Theme in Gen 2 were boring
@@DrViiisTaR Second gen has better trainer battle music, but the gym leader music is not nearly as good as sixth gen.
Shit, I remember when I was 10, playing Pokémon Y, when I got to viola and heard this play, damn I was hyped, damn, 6 years been so long
Holy crap! You're right... These games are already 6 years old...
So x and y is memorable to me 😊.
same here :)
ur not the only one Micah
X was my first game so I feel the same way.
meh Black was my first game
THATS NOT WHAT I MEANT!!!
I always use this song in my wifi battles i think it's sick as fuck :)
yusei1996 YOU CAN USE THIS IN WIFI BATTLES?!?!?!
mushroomdude123
yeah but only in x/y i think
Actually, I tested this. You can do this in ORAS too. So far the only one I know you can get is the Wild Pokemon theme.
mushroomdude123 I believe it's "music 4" on the selection screen.
Team Flare's theme is "music 6".
They ahould've just called it what it is rather than labeling them by number.
Yea I played it without exp. share, sometimes it got really difficult
Neko Cantus I never used exp share and none of my Pokemon where mystery gift and no xerneas/yveltal
The "I one-shot all of their team" theme.
One of the best music in the whole franchise and by by far the best Gym Leader theme.
Glad you like it, but I don't think other themes are trying to be the gen 1 gym battle theme, they're just trying to keep the same hype that the first one did
This is the most underrated gym leader theme in the franchise.
Yeah i'm pretty sure it's the only gym leader in the game mr soccer pfp
@@Ogerponyo what's soccer?
You mean in the franchise?
@@Flightzer thanks english is not my language
@@JDC4.0 no problem
I really hope this theme makes an appearance in ZA somehow
The Sinnoh Gym Leader theme played when fighting the Wardens in Arceus so we may get this most likely as a boss theme in ZA, no guarantees though
IschmarVI Mashups they could have expanded with having 17 year old protagonists
Clemont is the only one i can remember, but he was also the best
i dont remember any 1 and 3 gen leader
DiegoRaist, have you forgotten Brock, Misty, Lt. Surge, Koga, Blaine, or Giovanni? What about Brawly, Wattson, Flannery, Norman, Tate/Liza, and Wallace?
So i played this song as part of my Electro music playlist at a school party and people actually danced to it😐 i feel like my pranked didnt worked
Task failed successfully
What, were people supposed to battle?
@@themarioking7127 lol I think so
The way this could be played in an underground European Rave, it’s so good omg
Out of all the Gym battle themes (Gen 1-6). This one, by far, is the most Intense. In fact. The battle themes in X and Y were some of the most intense themes I've ever heard
i heard this while fighting grant, and just started flopping on the floor
this song alone is boring
*while listening to the music with battle noises* I LOVE IT
Clemont has amazing character design, I think he's amazing!
Well done, you have excellent taste.
When I first battled Viola and this music started playing, my jaw hit the floor. This was the greatest Gym Leader music I've heard in all of the games.
Going on a binge of all the Gym Leader music for every region. And jesus this one feels so slooooow.
Such a good theme! Why do people hate it? :c
(Just got remixed in Pokémon Go for mega raids too!)
Ye
People hate it because they like the gym leader battle themes from Gen1/2/3/4/5 better.
@@alinepiroutek8932 Imo Gen 5 is the worst of those
Go is a horrible abomination of mankind that can't even Pokémon.
Ace Trainer Heinz would like to battle!

@@MariOmor1 Gen 4 for me personally

Ahhh, my first pokemon game. I loved it and still come back to play it every year. Man did this game get me hooked into the franchise, and this music was so good!
Me rn😭
Who here's because of Pokemon GO's new Mega Raid Battle music?
Not me but now I will search for the Pokémon GO soundtrack. I stopped playing it in January after pandemic came. No Pokéstops neither gyms at home, my biggest fun of the game was battling gyms and doing the raids.
@@alinepiroutek8932 Those are neither Gyms nor Raids, you utter gombeen.
@@heinzdoofenshmirtz8643 Fakenews. The new Mega Raid theme is on the gyms.
@@heinzdoofenshmirtz8643 You aren't talking about Pokémon GO anymore
You had to love Clemont! His team I thought was amazing! He actually gave my Chestnaught a run for a while.
Thank goodness for OST videos 😂 I never got through half the song before I beat the gym leader
It has been 7 years already,.. I feel old,.
I think this is my second favorite theme for pokemon x and y
Then what's your fav
Pokemon Legends ZA
Let's f*****g GO!!!

Loll
Clemont is a interesting character in the game and the XY anime.
Voiced by Michael Liscio Jr., also the voice of Yuya Sakaki.
this is honestly my favorite battle theme in the entire main series
this goes so unironically hard
Anyone else remember Clemont getting upset not because you beat him, but because Bonnie tells you what theTM does. Hilarious
Best Gym Leader battle theme of them all! Gets you so pumped up for the fight!
Happy to see how many people have come around to this game, I liked this one a lot :)

As a techno fan my brain sends a signal to tell me 'HEY! SHUT UP! TECHNO!' This is my favorite Gym Theme next to Sword and Shield.
But when that little flash of light came and the screen went black, then to the Gym leader intro and THIS started playing. That was a moment in Pokemon history.
I really don't understand why so many people hate this music.
Ahh. A gym leader theme that sounds like you're in an actual gym
