I hit ~ 105 km/h once on a rim brake bike. Braking from such speed wasn't fun. It wasn't that the stopping power was weak ( I had blue swissstop pads), but the front wheel fell into terryfing vibrations. At lower speeds I haven't experienced this.
This is extremely dangerous on a road bike because the wheelbase and chainstays are much too short and the bike is therefore much too nervous. In addition, the handlebars are too narrow to be able to steer safely at this speed. The brakes are also too weak to brake safely and even if the brakes were stronger, the tires would not have any grip. If just one thing goes wrong there, you'll be dead because you won't be able to slow down or avoid it, because you'll probably end up on your face because the bike won't follow these maneuvers.
I could do that I was on a bike with disk brakes, a really low bottom bracket, a really long wheel base, a dropper post and 32mm tyres and no bends on the road. Easy.
I averaged 50 kph on an 880 mile ride. On some of my long downhill runs I hit 125 kph. It c an be done. Ths was with an 18 kilo bag strapped to the back rack. I was in awesome shape in those days!

I experimented this once i put a 30kg on the road bike going a 15° downhill for 300m i can say that the bike goes faster it reaches the speed of 96km/h so now you know why bikers do weird pose on the Front of the road bike it is because it speed them up by 40% ❤❤❤❤

One of the sketchiest things I’ve ever done just in general was hit 79km/h on a MTB on a dirt road down the side of a mountain in Saalbach. 1 wrong move and I’d be done for.
I did 54 mph downhill on a laden touring bike in the Scottish Highlands behind a tourist coach...could have gone faster but straight running out & my nerve too!
I just today reached 74 km/h speed in scooter and my face was feeling numb and i think reaching just 50 km/h speed will be hard enough to achieve in bicycle
I'm lucky I've had no problems going downhill fast. There's a hill near me that I could do 120KPH every time admittedly it's a state highway so 20KPH over speed limit. Unfortunately due to new intersection they have reduced speed limit to 80KPH so yeah stopped using hill. But 100KPH+ I did twice a day for 3-months.

Well you do go faster on a road bike so it does make sense, also you dont steer much since you mostly lean like a motorcycle
If you have a very big chainring, the bike weighs very little and your leg muscles are very strong, you can reach that speed.
