Good for you for taking charge of your own videos and having fun Kay, honestly your taste tests and reactions are superb! Glad everything with Lee is fine too of course!
Well done Kay just remember to keep stirring whilst adding the milk and turn the heat down you don’t need to have the butter boiling just melt it, add the flour then slowly add the milk then bring to a slow simmer. Add the cheese and the pasta then you can add more cheese before you put it in the oven. Nice with some garlic bread 😊 thumbs up!

Do you know what Kay, this is the best video I’ve seen since you started RUclips in 2015. You did bloody well with that recipe and I’d eat that it looks really nice. GOOD ON YOU for learning how to do the camera work by yourself. What an inspiration, a good cook and now a good camera worker. Onwards and upwards for this channel I reckon! All the best pal! You’re doing really well, we’ve said this for years and you’ve finally learned how to do it so all the best to you Kay.
Thank you Kay. I have a terrible headache and you always make me feel better especially with the wonderful Mac and cheese. You have have a soothing quality soul and heart
Kay, if you're redoing this recipe at all in the future, you'll want to use equal parts butter and flour. And that was a lot of butter and flour. You'd be fine with using 2 or 3 TABLESPOONS of butter and an equal part of flour. So yes, melt the butter on medium heat. Add the flour and stir until smooth. And then I would use 1 cup of milk per table spoon of butter. So 2 cups of milk if I'm using 2 tablespoons of butter. But stir it in 1 cup of milk at a time. And again, keep it on a medium temperature. And then you add grated cheese and continue mixing until its your desired thickness (I usually put extra cheese). Add whatever you want to that. Salt, pepper, I like adding onion and garlic with some paprika and cayenne to mine but do whatever you want. You're so sweet 😭 I'm glad you're having fun. Keep it up, I can tell you've made great progress over the years
Looks great. One thing I might suggest is to add a thin layer of breadcrumbs to the top before putting it in the oven. This will give it a nice additional texture and make it just that much better without really any more effort.
Thanks for the update, really glad you're both happy, and that you've taken over the camera work because you wanted to learn how. I love learning new things in adulthood, it's a great feeling. Well done! X

You're doing a great job of running the show by yourself!! And I love seeing you get to taste your dishes instead of just Lee. This dish reminded me of my mother-in-law's recipe. She used stale bread crumbs instead of flour and also baked hers. Yours looks like it's creamier and smoother. Yum!!

I never thought anything about you doing your own camera work, but you're doing fine! I love your videos, just as they are. You don't need anything fancy. Here in the United States, mac 'n' cheese, at its most basic, is simply elbow pasta with melted cheese mixed in (not on top). Yes, you usually add butter, milk/cream, and at least salt, too. It can be baked and have other ingredients added (some people like bacon, ham, vegetables, herbs, and/or spices added) but that's not basic. Some of us love a 3- or 4-cheese mac. So, yeah, the cheese can often be overpowering, but for cheese lovers (like me), it's all good! 😁 Oh! It's usually served in a bowl if eaten by itself. If it accompanies a dinner as a side dish, it might go on a plate. It really doesn't matter what you eat it out or off of, though. That's true of almost anything you eat (I do recommend a bowl for thin soups, though 😂), of course. To be honest, I'm not even sure whether it's more "proper" to eat it with a spoon or a fork, even here in the States, but I like a spoon. That said, eat it however you like. 😊
Use a balloon whisk to whisk the roux, helps it to be smooth and lower the heat. You needed about half the flour (50g flour 50g butter 500ml milk)It takes about 15 mins to cook the roux and it eventually thickens. But good job.
Kay, I am so proud of the chef you are becoming, your recipes are really improving over time. And I love watching your reactions to the yummy-ness. Keep on cooking!
That did look right nice. Macaroni Cheese is probably my favourite Italian meals. I like to eat mine the traditional way, with a nice glass of fizzy drink and a plate of gerkins while sitting ont the sand at the beach, just like they do in Rome. I have never had a Macaroni Cheese that I have never liked, except for at one time when a lady gave me macaroni cheese that was disgusting. Fumbs up.
Oh My goodness, This was the most adorable video I have seen from you! I Adored it. Here are a few tips ( because I'm a little too serious about my cheese sauces! LOL) 1) Girl! Get a whisk! From the moment you add the flour to the butter don't stop whisking! When you add the cream or milk, this will help keep the lumps down as it is designed to blend the sauce together. 2) try adding a tiny bit of nutmeg ( Or really just play around with herbs and spices a bit) to add a little more depth to the flavor! 3) Using heavy cream will give the dish a really nice consistency. 4) Baking the dish just helps to add a really nice polish to the meal, and makes it look nicer too. Try topping with cheese and bread crumbs tossed in melted butter before putting it in the oven for a nice added crunch at the end!
Nice Kay, cooked my first mac and cheese yesterday, but I have used less flour, so it turned out more smooth, you should try that maybe you will like it.
Dreams really do come true! ☹ My mouth is watering! What a bang-up job and I will have to try this dish soon, only I will crumble potato chips over the top for a nice CRUNCH.💖

Its actually super easy. The way she did it she cooked it at too high a temperature i do 1/2 cup butter 1/2 cup flour to make a roux on medium heat cook the clour one minute to avoid raw fliur taste. Next add 4 cups if half and half 1 and a 1/4 teaspoons of salt and pepper garlic teaspoon lemon juice 1/2 teaspoon italian seasoning 1/2 cup cream cheese whisked in 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese 1 cup parmesan 1/2 cup mozzarella then. Cook 3 cups of macaroni noodles In chicken broth just till it lightly covers its a no strain method cook macaroni for 6 minutes you want it to be not fully cooked because it will finish cooking when it bakes and you dont want it mushy. Next pour sauce over noodles dont worry if its soupy it will thicken and absorb you dont want it to dry out in the oven. Transfer the mixed macaroni to a buttered baking dish and sprinkle with more cheese and buttered bread crumbs bake at 400 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes till bubbly and golden brown bake times will vary depending on how hot your oven gets i hope this recipe will work for you low and slow wins the race you can have it high to melt the butter but turn down after adding the flour then you can heat the liquid but dont boil or it will curdle i love cooking so it comes easy and naturally. You can do it i am sure took me years of practice. If i can give you advice from my experience kay isnt good at cooking if you look at her spaghetti bolongnese the noodles are crunchy she thinks she knows what she is doing and thats the sad part. Her cutting technique is dangerous and food lacks flavour its like hospital food so please dont try and copy her its funny to watch with having lots of experience
I would suggest using a whisk to add the milk and flour and to make sure the sauce is super smooth. You're amazing! Keep cooking and learning and having fun with it! 😘

Maybe a whisk would be better than a wooden spoon next time too 😊
It's actually important to heat the butter to boiling point and cook the roux before adding the milk this removes the floury taste
Good tip is to keep removing the pan from the heat while adding the flour and then the milk. Works for me anyway 🥰
