Wonderful break. Living and hiking in Africa, I have always walked with a stick, about the size and weight of broom stick. They are useful around snakes, both by tapping the ground to scare the snake and also defend yourself if needed. It’s an essential.
That’s a very good idea! Will look for something suitable.

That black mamba was an awesome sighting...and you managed to get as close to one as would like to get, Harry just carries on walking trying to get closer haha you are a brave man. This is Africa, be aware of your surroundings at all times. Change of scenery, another wonderful episode. Safe travels.

Well Uis was family farmland for our grandparents and they retired to Hentiesbay in later years....

Okay so we watched over a lovely piece of fillet .... So this was a flash in the pan of sorts ...enjoyed all the footage and fun'n'games. SÓ many memories of my childhood places. By God's grace we 'll do a trip to Nam again next year! So good to know Windhoek has some good overlanders resources!
Okay next time you need to stop over on the way to the airport, you have to park off your Landy at a camp site for the overlander at heart.... Approximately halfway between the airport and Windhoek you'll find Ondekeremba!

It would be an awesome thing to be able to take on trips to help with shopping lists on the road, plus you can write notes in it so it could become like a Memory Book too!
