What a brilliant video. So much beauty in the nothingness. When you spoke about being so happy just being there, not needing to see any animals, I resonated deeply. The sentimental scene with the canned spaghetti was so powerful. The emotional maturity that you display about this now being a solo channel is just so inspiring to watch, Tim. You are a good man. After I watched this, I got inspired and booked a solo 8 nights in the kruger early December 😅 I also need to find the time to convert all my video footage into a RUclips channel! Your bravery certainly is motivating me to do so! Thanks again for a stunning episode, as always.
Really appreciate the thoughtful comment. Been a rough ride, but life goes on, and the channel is too important to me to let die! Love to hear that I've inspired you, and I miss Kruger sooooo much!
An Epic adventure and outstanding videography and editing skills. An awesome episode. Been watching since your channel started. What an Awesome channel.
I hit “like” the moment I started watching as I always enjoy your input, however, as another local RUclipsr likes to say, this was “next level” 😂 but especially artistically- my favourite RUclips video yet! THANK YOU!
Just incredible Tim, I love your content and love this solo adventure! It’s so different but that’s what makes your videos so unique and a pleasure to watch! P.S that rain dance 🥰
Such a stunning episode! Honestly your videos are by far the best overlanding videos on RUclips! It would be really cool to get a Lost in Africa editing tutorial so we can see how you make this magic, and your creative process behind everything! :)
Thanks Asher, really appreciate it! EP2 out today! I have often thought of editing tutorials, and gear tutorials, but worried RUclips is so niche based now that it might hurt the channel...
Hello Tim, glad to see you are back in action and really getting fancy with your filming! I drive the same vehicle as you,and I am keen to see how you built you storage etc in your boot. I seem to recall seeing a previous video on this but couldn’t find it. Did I imagine this?
Thanks David! There was some talk about it in the Lost in Moz series, but not a lot. To be honest the drawer system is the only aspect of Jabari I am still not happy with, and plan to fully customise first thing in the new year!
Being in the middle of nature with no one in it, even your girlfriend - Looks like brings you closer to your soul. Inspiring video as always. thank you,
You are a braver man than me being that remote. Wow! Incredible edit. Love it. PS like you I love being out in the wilderness/bush because of how beautiful it is and animals whilst not the priority do offer that special edge, but just as happy without seeing any.
Tim when this episode started, the intro tell all this is going to be an epic journey. 45000 km wow wow flippen baie. That this night in open bush spot lekke fire and place to sleep epic. That hael eina Tim i know you will find inner peace cheers
Really cool episode and great editing!! 👏. I love the see-through maps you use, also in your other videos! Would you mind telling how/where I can find those maps?
Tim another great video experience loving the new editing style with the overrun on the edit cut makes you feel like your there... not many people doing it like this Kudos to you my friend... Storm Chaser Tim 😂
We’re trying to gear the whole post production set up to be more efficient! So the plan is to post every two weeks, but then consistently forever. It might take a little to iron the kinks out though. Also thank you! 😊
We’re looking to set it up, more likely to be high end photographic tours than overlanding tours though! Just in terms of getting the time out of my diary! Roland from My Life in Africa, and Juba from Juba’s Journey offer amazing overland tours!!
TIM!! What an incredible episode, I really can’t get over the cinematography. This was amazing!! How can one contribute to the channel? I don’t have much but I have to show my appreciation, one can’t enjoy such content for free.
Ah thank you, I so appreciate it! Honestly at this point it is still a massive loss making passion project, and the only way to ever change that is to get viewership up! So share share share and tell everyone you know and you will be doing more than you can imagine! So appreciate it thank you!
Apparently at the gate is the best for viewings cause the water still works! Wish I had known, but still a phenomenal experience going all the way out there alone!
90% of overlanding in Botswana can be done in some crossover SUV, which comes with basic off road features like AWD, A-track, decent clearance with off road tyres and upgraded dampers like Ford Bronco sport, Subaru crosstrek, Toyota RAV 4. A car like a Toyota LC 200 series, Toyota Fortuner would be more comfortable with bigger tyres and bigger storage space. It's a bit of overkill for LC 200 series V8 engine.
I disagree. But i guess it depends on your definition of ‘overlanding’. Most of the country is accessible by tar these days, so in theory you could access most of it in a ferrari, but not the bits i want to go to. CKGR is barely accessible in a standard 4x4 most of the year, and certainly impossible to cross and not in a AWD except for a small section in the north in the dry season. Moremi you could only do a tiny part of the main roads in the dry season. Chobe an even tinier piece, nothing near savuti. Mabua maybe if you access it from botswana and don’t explore much, but definitely not recommended. Nxai pan and kgalagadi at the perfect time of year maybe, but you’d have to get lucky and stay on track. What made you make this comment?
@@LostinAfrica Bianca must also be laughing...knowing now that she dodged a weak-ass pansy. Laughs & reliefs all around!!! Thanks for confirming you're beta

Still one of the best video series I have watched. I come back once in a while to rewatch it.
Man, what a lekker adventure! Thanks, Tim, for allowing me to experience vicariously what I would otherwise never have.
What an amazing solo story , and what an amazing edit Tim !!!! Well done bro 💪🏾
Thank you legend!
Kgalagadi always surprises! Amazing storm and those cloud formations!
Just a phenomenal place! I want to get back there asap!
Amazing video, can't wait for the 2nd episode

My gosh this has to be your best episode ever. Well done Tim!

Wow taking overlanding cinematic production to next level with great story telling.

So glad you enjoyed it! It really is a very very special place! 🥰
Amazing Tim..much awaited video. Wowwww just wowwww. Waiting for the next one. Watching this over and over again.
Hopefully the next one will be next weekend! So won’t be too long a wait!

Tim? One of the best videos on YT. Enjoyed every bit of it, especially the Kalahari Storm/Hail or should we say… Snow.
Can’t wait for the next one!!

Excellent story telling and editing fella!! Well Done
Think this has been your best video yet. For all the amazing editing. Looks very premium.

Literally manually create them from maps online, save as png in photoshop. No cheat sheet there sorry.

Hey Tim, great episode! I was hoping if you can share details about the camera bracket that you using on the side of your car door? Thanks

Thanks Dave, this was early December!
We had lions roaring about 50meters from Camp at Kaa Gate end of 2019. It was truly special. Btw, add me to that overlanding group 🤣
Apparently at the gate is the best for viewings cause the water still works! Wish I had known, but still a phenomenal experience going all the way out there alone!
@@LostinAfrica it’s truly an incredible place. We were lucky in 2019, large male lion had a kill just off the pan, just off the road.
