Lesotho Highlands epic country , next time you travel to the Katse Dam push further to Ha Lejone you can stay at Chokes Guesthouse ,Bar , meals wonderful people and a good friend and possibly arrange with Katse Fish Farm to buy a Rainbow Trout . He also has land further up the river were you could wild camp and fish for Rainbow Trout and check out some Caves. Fossil Parks in Lesotho Highlands you can walk and see Dinosaur Footprints in the Rock . So much to see .
The place is beautiful. I lived there and worked there for a number of years. I never tired of the mountains. Main cities are not my favourite , but the rural areas and mountains are really something!!
finally you came to my Home. thank you so much for showing people the beauty my country hold, THANK YOU, it surely looks beautiful, id love to see more and longer episodes. 🙂
My Dad bought a cottage in Himeville years ago. It was a bit of a trek from Durban where they lived & I was living in Mtubtuba in Zululand at the time. I now live in Birmingham in the UK so can't enjoy adventures like this. I love your chanell it's always such a treat to see where you go in Africa.
Had great fun doing the up, beer at the highest pub and down the Sani pass thing. We too camped at Khotso lodge for the weekend, really enjoyed the stay there. As for Lesotho, it’s definitely on our bucket list. Thanks again Chris 👍❤️
Christoff as always epic content, drone footage next level. Lesotho flippen mooi. Nice mountains. Thanks for sharing this adventure with us Get out go. Cheers
Great video! We camped at Highland Nook, near Underberg about 10 years ago when we drove through Lesotho from the Eastern Cape and exited down Sani pass. We stayed at the same at Katse dam and were able to do the dam wall tour which was an epic experience. The Katse Lodge was also still operating and we a great brunch and very decent Maluti Lagers. The botanical garden at Katse was also very interesting.
I've seen my share of mountains, including the Canadian Rockies and the Andes, but this scenery is stunning. I'm sad that I missed Lesotho in my world travels. Amazing that the mountainsides are being intensively farmed in some stretches. Look forward to seeing more videos here
Clay (XOverland) and his travel companions posted a video recently of their trip into Losotho. They camped in a spot looking across the valley at the waterfall. Beautiful country there.
This is my territory. Green Green Natal. I'm just down the road from "Notties" as we call it and all the hills around Howick are fully green. Four of us did that same drive in my Toyota 4D4 a few years ago, up Sani Pass to that hilltop bar and down back home again.
Oh my lord, what an amazing trip with spectacular scenery. I am so pleased to have come across your channel. We now have our Canopy Camper fitted, how is your fit out coming along?
You are a blessing 🎉🎉🎉 I'm happy for you, that you get the chance to explore the wilderness and not being stuck in a 9-5 job. My ultimate dream would really be to explore my continent Africa in a 4wd vehicle. Proud of you and your wife.......enjoy your trip ❤❤❤
Another excellent video from you, thank you both. Lesotho still on my list of To Do. Christo, may I ask what is the height of your bakkie to the top of your closed tent? My garage door entrance is just 243cm - whilst I look for a rig like yours but rather a Hilux and not a LC. Thank you. Ian
Thanks Ian! I think it’s 2,3m-something (2” lift, 33” tyres). My garage door height is 2,5m and there’s room to spare. I’ll double check for you. I had Alu-Cab’s Hilux with the modCAP in here as well and that wasn’t much lower
Thanks Get Out, Go! I had been hoping

Thanks Paul, much appreciated!
Have a look at Khotso lodge when in the area again. We spent a couple of nights there a while ago, and was really beautiful.
Thanks!
Loved watching the video. I will be up Sani Pass soon.
Thanks, enjoy Sani!
Some of those roads got me driving in my seat. A must visit

Been so long since I've been there, great footage, love your work. Done the up-run 21+ years ago, when they still had the up-run.
Thanks! Yup, I own a bakkie so I don’t run 😂

Well done! Tough race that

Good reason to come back 😉 It’s truly beautiful! Yup, these folks live in pretty harsh conditions yet they seem quite content
Really enjoyed this episode, Lesotho definitely on my to do list
It’s a great place to overland 👍

Yup, Maletsunyane Falls, beautiful!
Have never been there. Very interesting to see what the country looks like
It’s beautiful, can definitely recommend it!
Sani Pass was real fun in snow and ice of winter
Definitely will be back for that!
Stunning scenery, it reminds me of the Alpine Way here in Australia, but it no longer has any dirt sections unfortunately.
Yup, it’s pretty spectacular! Would love to visit the Vic high country as well
@ if you ever decide to head to Australia Christoff, I will happily guide you anywhere you want to visit
@@4wdadventureoz thank you! I've been to Melbourne so many times (for my past tech job) but never got the chance to wheel there unfortunately

Love all that green!
You drove past Ha Lejone I drove that past every week that hairpin bend when you start your decent .
Great video! In which month did you do your trip?
Thanks, was last weekend (8 Nov)
Oh my lord, what an amazing trip with spectacular scenery. I am so pleased to have come across your channel.
We now have our Canopy Camper fitted, how is your fit out coming along?
Thank you! That’s awesome! We’re just waiting for our Goose gear interior, had some delays

@ Thank you Christo, that would be greatly appreciated. Good news for me! Loving the latest series of vids.
Great show, keep it coming. Did you get your passport stamped at SA and the Lesotho border post?
Thanks! Yup, albeit landlocked, Lesotho is still a separate country so you need to stamp in and out both sides of the border
They've been threatening to tar sani pass for years...thankfully it's still raw !!!
❤ Khudu ( Land Cruiser )
Nice video. Reminds me of home.
What tyre pressures are you on when in tarmac and off-road?
Thanks! 2.5 bar on tar, 2 on gravel and 1.5-1.8 in thick sand
Christoff definitely stay at Khotso, or feel free to drop me a message as I live in Underberg and have a 1 bedroom cottage on our property
Thanks Simon!
Did the Cruisers manage the hairpin bends, Chris?
There was one bend on Sani where we had to do a 2-point turn, otherwise it was fine
Beautifull❤ Chris. Please advise if I can cross the Sanni Pass with a Nissan Xtrail 2 x4 . Thanks . Pierre
Thanks Pierre! Unfortunately not, you need a 4x4 for that one
