I think the real question is will an auto manufacturer commit to making it and improving it's saftey standards? It is really efficient way to travel when powered by renewable source.
Covering the whole body with solarcells and installing a miniature hydrogen-turbine for extra flighttime might do the trick...and ofcourse; simple joystick control and automated flythpath-control so that anyone can fly...how hard can that be?

They have been doing it for years , everyday where I live , can you believe it ?
