Was the presser foot raised [from interacting with the feed dog]?
Should the bobbin turn clockwise or counter clockwise when you pull the thread once it’s in the case?
Clockwise (for the benefit of people like me who came purely to answer that question, I assume you would have found the answer yourself in the last year)
