Hi Zoe! I have a Juki DDL-8700 and I wanted to ask what oil do you buy to refill your machine? I had my machine for about 7 years and I feel that I should have it serviced to make sure it’s ok.
I feel so alienated in my fashion design class, since everyone knows how to sew except me. With my beginner status, nobody wants to be friends with me in this class. I’m so glad there’s your RUclips channel for lonely noobies like me! This video helped me a lot, thank you Zoe.
It’s okay, i felt the same way when i first started design school, the more you do it the better you’ll get, it really just takes time and practice, by your capstone you’ll be a lot more confident and experienced!
I am 73 and have sewed my whole life…and have a lot of bad sewing habits after all these years. Look at it this way: You are fresh as a daisy instead of being poopy like the others. I am going to say a prayer for you! Kind regards.
I'm so grateful for every one of your tutorials. Since schools have closed down, I haven't really seen other courses online that include technique along with theory and concept. Your videos are so helpful for both. Thank you Zoe!
Please LIKE this video if you learned something new today! Remember! A few disasterous adventures on a sewing machine doesn't mean you can't learn it eventually! Keep at it!
Thank you so much for your introduction of industrial machine parts and you have contributed about treading and sewing.....I've learned what was puzzling me.
Im currently taking my bachelor degree in fashion design and there is no such thing as this good introduction. I think students should know a little bit about the machines they r working with. For sure im gonna recommend this video. Tq
I've never tied my threads when changing colour on a sewing machine, it's easy to thread......however when changing colours on my serger I do because there's 4 of them and they are a pain to thread.
Recently found your channel and absolutely love listening to you talk. Takes me back to my days in fashion school and it's just very soothing to my soul. Thank you!
You are the best. At almost 60, I came across your videos. For a guy, it was an eye opener . You are a great teacher. Just into 2 months I own 2 Juki. 1508n and 5550n.
Hello Josephine, I'm Kukua, started my sewing class last week. How did it go for you? Are you done? Could really use some pointers. Kindly respond as soon as you get this. Thank you
Thanks a million times for this tutorial ! I just got an industrial sewing machine (been using a home one) - and it looked very daunting. After your video, I feel way better and very relieved! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
This is fantastic. My daughter (teen who loves to sew) just acquired an industrial machine and table and we’re trying to figure it all out. Thank you so much for making and sharing this video!!❤
The best video for a newbie to an industrial machine! I just got one today and sooooo so overwhelmed and awkward on how to handle it 😂 this video saved me. Thanks a lot!
I'm applying for the job at fashion house so it was a good reminder 😂 thanks Zoe! Edit: I actually got the job and will be making some famous trench coats on the machine and hand stitching 😁 yeyy Apparently other candidates couldn't even think of stitching by hand and I was ok with it 😜😅
Where you got job...i too habee interview for sewing machine operater & tomorrow i have sewing test so what they can ask for test will you please tell me about your interview?
Salute! I save this video to my playlist in case people buying sewing machine from me and requiring instruction. You did great job, and also that forget-to-hook mistake is classical, can be a good reminder to people.
What a great video lesson... fantastic easy to understand explanations! Has been a long time since I was an Industrial machinist.... needed this. Perfect. 😊
Oh my word ! Idk why it is about your videos but they are so easy to understand ! There are so many videos out here but yours are filled so so much good real info ! And your so straight forward ! I know you are or you’d be the best teacher ! I wished I was closer and that I could learn from you in real life ! You really know your stuff chick ! Ty again for another informative down to earth video !
thank you for this video, I am sure I will mess up my first attempt. Believe it or not this Juki is my very first machine, I am a novice, I bought it second hand and I know nothing about sewing but determined to learn, so you are my very first teacher!
Great overview. One note about the bobbin winder...it is meant to wind as you sew. That's why it has its own thread stand. Get it started and go on with your sewing. That way, there is no wasted time.
i grew up around these machines, but never took the time to learn about them until i entered my thirties. i wish i knew more things to make to practice, but i really got into making bags with the plastic shopping bag ban in NY. Thank you for the overview!
Thank you so much fo this lesson! I am studying fashion and i am first year in university, i have ony one lesson in weeek on sewing on this machine and I used fo forget the simply stuff, and now i used this as a reminder.
Perfect level of detail - I just started a new job teaching beginning sewing classes. The store sells industrial machines, and I have zero experience with them. We also have one at our library makerspace, BLDG61 here in Bouler. I volunteer there as the textiles helper and now I can take it out and play! Thanks very much!
Thank you very much for sharing you knowledge about operating an Industrial Sewing Machine. I was inspired to study and focus on learning how to sew. I just recently enrolled in a short course program in Industrial Sewing Machine operation and basic pattern making. I appreciate you for being an ardent fashion educator. Much love from the Philippines 😘
Hey from France 👋! I’m actually in a vocational high school to learn fashion and we use exactly the same sewing machine ! Thanks for your great videos!
Oh boy!!!!!! This was such an enjoyable video, short to the point and informative. Loved your humor also. I look forward to getting my industrial machine.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I also have the JUKI 8700. I set it up to thread a bobbin and then just keep sewing. It fills the bobbin fast. I also keep several spare bobbins loaded and waiting.
Omg this is such good info for me, I am a small business owner but I am planning on having a factory as my final business goal. Thank you so much for this video! 🙏
Absolutely luv your voice present skills, very pronounced and precise ! This is the mark of an exacting teacher. Rare qualities to have wish you all the best. I'm looking at getting a single stitch machine to make things out of canvas. Thank you
Zoe thank you so much 😊 I’ve learnt a great deal from this tutorial. I’ve also brought a Juki DDL8700 and you’re tutorial has given more information than anyone. Thank you so much.
I didn't see your face but I love your personalities so much, Zoe. I'm so glad that you made this video because I'm struggling to set up my mom's Juki DDL 8300n. I think that the version 8300 and 8700 are similar so I could follow your guide to start the machine.
Great explanation...I just started sewing classes and we use this heavy, strong, very fast and intimidating at first Juki "baby." Thank you for making my life easier :)
Hi Zoe, thank you so much for this video I am literally starting my journey with sewing I know Zero at this point but Girl was I relieved and grateful to land on your video where you literally explain easly for my beginning level self to understand 💕 I have definitely SUBSCRIBED to this channel as i can tell i will learn alot from you. 💖
I wish I had seen this video about a year ago when I started on an industrial machine. I spent 6 hours the first day trying to make that damn thing sew.
Hozit thank for this, i bought a sewing machine yesterday the guy that i got if from didn't show me the right way to load it up if it was not for this video i would probably have lost it and take a angle grinder and cut it up for scrap metal thank u very much for this vid to battle is not fun at all Big like i have never gone for any sewing classes but this is gr8 for my skill level many thanks
Hello my beautiful namesake! (the machine) I learned to sew on an industrial singer when I was little and all my life I've used those, I even know a bit on how to fix them. I have to say, my home machine with full metal gear has me relieved!
Awesome video. I’ve learned sooo much. Especially when you explained tension and stitch length. You explained it where my brain could finally visualize the explanation. I can’t thank you enough for that ❤️❤️🙏🏻
I really enjoyed this video. One day I will buy an industrial sewing machine. You have now taken the fear out it. How fast does an industrial sewing sew compared to a home sewing machine? Maybe you can do a video on the differences. You do a great job!!!
Did you get an industrial by any chance? If so I would love to hear what your experience has been like. I make doll clothes full time and am considering switching from a vintage straight stitcher (Singer Featherweight) to a Juki like Zoe's, only with a thread cutter and auto up/down presser foot. Still I worry it won't make a real difference, considering most my seams are very short.
Thank you so much.. I am not much into tailoring.. no formal training also.. just keep tryinh watching YT. However I happen to bring one home.. ddl5550N switched from juki hzl And had no experience.. was upset with my decision.. not able to stitch... no controll over the motor speed.. This Video was really helpfull.. Looking forward to watch more project from u.. THANK YOU , you are a good teacher!
Thanks Zoe. I am about to buy my first machine and give it a go. I work as a Broadcast Transmitter engineer and STILL a sewing machine scares the life out of me !!! I am looking to do some auto upholstery.
I first became familiar with industrial machines while working at one prison here in Arkansas and had to supervise the laundry at the time. They had two machines in there and both was used daily to work on clothing which had to be repaired by the inmates working in the laundry. One was an older Singer and the newer one was a Juki and that was the first time I learned about Juki.
this video is really helpful...the industrial machines are really hard for me to control..super scary and my class is very fast paced:( I think I cried too...Thanks, Zoe for the encouragement ..learning to sew straight on these machines eeek
Hah! I remember my first time on an industrial. At the time it was somewhat terrifying, as I was used to my home machine, but since then, I have been craving the feeling of sewing behind one of these power houses! Great video.
I tried sewing on a home machine after I learned industrial machines and I was wailing, "Why is it soooo slooooooooooooowwwwww???? Come on, little guy, you can do it! You can do it! No? I hate you."
This is a very educational video😊, cause I’m planning to get a professional machine soon😊. Still searching about what I need to know about the machine and where to get a original one. Sure I will watch this again, when I get the machine 😊.
Ay Noumi Thanks for the Demo. It reminds me as i was 14 years old and started working in a garment factory. It was my dream to be a seamstress, so i learned a lot over these different Juki Machines. After 2 Years i received a Scholarship from the Government in my Country and all i have learnt from the garment factory, it helped me a lot in creating my Dresses ang gowns and uniforms till i become a teacher and helped parents See their Childrens Uniform and also for different occassions. God bless you.
Thank you!! This is so helpful. I have a job interview that uses these and I have only used a home machine. They said they would teach me but I would like to know somethings about these machines beforehand.
Hey Zoe thanks for the tip on changing the thread color without having to re tread the machine. I’m not great at sewing but I love my Tacsew industrial machine. I put a servo motor on it to slow it down. It’s so quite! I forget that it’s on. I need one more adjustment to make this perfect. I need to figure how to make the control foot pedal smaller .i have a hip replacement and it hurts to lift my leg/hip to step on the pedal. I hope my husband can figure this out...
You are so awesome, Zoe! I was just researching a little on industrial straight-stitch machines a couple of weeks ago. You always do videos I want to see (do you read minds?), and you do them so well.
Here's my video on industrial overlocks/sergers! ruclips.net/video/oC0Oub0xdD0/видео.html
THANK YOU! YOU ROCK!
Hi Zoe! I have a Juki DDL-8700 and I wanted to ask what oil do you buy to refill your machine? I had my machine for about 7 years and I feel that I should have it serviced to make sure it’s ok.

I hope things are better now :)

Happy to help! Good luck getting your machine perfect!
